We had a fantastic time at De Eekhorst, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and the open living room was perfect for our family gatherings. The hot tub was a highlight, especially after our bike rides in the area!

The Eekhorst is a hidden gem! We spent a long weekend here with the family, and it was absolutely perfect. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated, making it a home away from home. The sauna and hot tub were the highlights after a day exploring the nearby nature reserve. We especially enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the small fishing pond. Our children had fun playing in the garden, and we even saw some storks nearby. Highly recommended for families looking for a quiet retreat!

Fantastic experience! The sauna was an unexpected surprise, and the hot tub was the cherry on top. We also took a lovely trip to see the storks in De Wijk, which was just a short drive away. I would love to come back!

Our stay at De Eekhorst was quite pleasant. The country house is well-equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was perfect for our meals, and having several bathrooms made things easier for our group. It is a bit isolated, but that is what we were looking for. The nearby town of Meppel had nice dining options, and we enjoyed a day trip to the Dwingelderveld nature park. Overall, a good choice for a relaxing getaway.

The entire complex is dated, especially furniture, inventory, curtains
Lots of mold in certain bathrooms.

The house was OK. Nice bathrooms but older furniture. The promised lbs / swimming / boating did not work out. Boat was drowned and hard to get here to the water Because Of overgrown yard. The ponies did not want the kids to ride on them but were OK to be brushed.The kitchen cupboards were full on with dishes and glasses. There was no room to get some groceries in the cupboards. Must be enough dishes and cutlery there for 100 people. Washer and dryer very small and could not be used at the sametime.

The communication in advance through the mail was bright and prettig.De reception site was very welcoming with a homemade cake. Clear explanation on the ground, sufficient to use the building optimally. For a group of 11 people with young children there is plenty of private rooms with toilet facilities. The area around the house is more than enough. Nearby is opportunity for walking and cycling. In the large pond can be fished by the lovers and rowed. A nice addition. We have spent a nice weekend.

As every year the autumn with the family spent time in the Eekhorst, a fantastic house with beautiful bathrooms in each bedroom, comfortable beds and fully equipped. Owners John and Esther very welcoming and always available for a question. Dogs allowed only if kept on the premises due to stray chickens but that is as safe as garden is fully fenced. The men have made frequent use of the professional game of billiards. Recommended for short stay with family or group. Location is ok not directly to a forest or to a not very busy road.

A worst complication nice house. Attractively in a beautiful rural setting where chickens and horses to roam near the house. The owners of the house were very welcoming and provided excellent service when needed. Highly recommended this accommodation. We look back on with pleasure.

The recreation room with pool table is separate from the house. Breakfast we have taken care of by the host and hostess. The house was fully equipped, we have great advantage of the hot tub and infrared sauna. As city people had to get used to the farmer stench in the house. Also very nice that there is a washer, dryer and dishwasher were present, as you make good use of 7 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 toddlers and a baby.
