The apartment is located in a converted convent. The private terrace house set in the definition does not exist. Bit tricky too, because you are on the first floor. Around the house is a common terrace with secretions. Initially I was a little disappointed about this, but because it is a fairly small area, you still have plenty of privacy. The pool is only 10 meters from the entrance of the house. A cooling dip is so made. It is a quiet area with beautiful views. The apartment itself is basic but clean. The room on the second floor has standard free air. Wireless internet (10 euros per week) was fast enough, but unfortunately fell a few times. But a phone call to the front desk (walking is a challenge because a few hundred meters uphill style) has been made. With the reception we have similar address.'s Only flaw The young lady was not unfriendly, but not giant helpful. My impression was that she was especially focused on young visitors, and that her older visitors not interested. Reception a few times, too, was not reachable at times that they had to have it. Het appartement bevindt zich in een verbouwd klooster. Het in de huisomschrijving genoemde prive terras bestaat niet. Beetje lastig ook want je zit op de eerste verdieping. Om het huis heen is wel een algemeen terras met afscheidingen. Aanvankelijk was ik wat teleurgesteld hierover, maar omdat het een vrij kleinschalig terrein is, heb je toch voldoende privacy. Het zwembad ligt op maar 10 meter van de ingang van het huisje. Een verkoelende duik is dus zo gemaakt. Het is een rustige omgeving, met prachtig uitzicht. Het appartement zelf is basic maar netjes. De kamer op de tweede verdieping heeft standaard gratis airco. Draadloos internet (10 euro per week) was snel genoeg, maar viel helaas wel een paar keer uit. Maar een telefoontje naar de receptie (lopen is een uitdaging want een paar honderd meter stijl bergop) is zo gemaakt. Met de receptie hebben we ook gelijk het enige minpunt te pakken. De jongedame was niet onvriendelijk, maar ook niet reuze behulpzaam. Mijn indruk was, dat ze vooral gefocust was op jonge bezoekers en dat de oudere bezoekers haar niet zo interesseerde. Ook was de receptie een paar keer niet bereikbaar op momenten dat ze dit wel moesten zijn. Absolute aanrader is de het eten. Elke avond kun je eten wat de pot schaft (je moet hiervoor normaal gesproken reserveren, maar wij hebben dit maar eenmaal gedaan en toch vier keer gegeten). Het eten was heerlijk evenals de wijntjes. De bediening was bijzonder attent, hulpvaardig en gezellig. Groot pluspunt naast het uitzicht en het eten is de bereikbaarheid van diverse bezienswaardigheden. O.a. Siena, San Gimignano en Florence zijn prima bereikbaar. Aanrader is Volterra, Een prachtige rit door de heuvels, met prachtige uitzichten. We hebben hier een uitstekende week doorgebracht. Het dichtsbijzijnde plaatsje Certaldo is aardig. Het oude centrum is bereikbaar met een kabeltrein. Best grappig.
