This beautiful boat moored in the Aude on the Canal du Midi is a former commercial barge, used in Belgium and France in the 1930s. After a complete renovation in 2005, it has become a particularly attractive holiday home.
This wooden boat has a shaded terrace with a magnificent view of the famous Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The rooms are large and pleasant, tastefully decorated, and there's even a little garden laid out just for you on the shore!
There are many attractions in this beautiful region, including the famous medieval city of Carcassonne, also a listed site. Visit the Cathar castles, the giant chasm at Cabrespine, the wine cellars and numerous abbeys, such as Fontfroide.
You can even bring your pet. Not far away, you'll find a small lock, typical of the Canal du Midi, which you can watch in operation. Four bicycles are available to help you explore the area. Fishing in the river is permitted.
For safety reasons, we strongly advise against hiring the boat to families with children under the age of 7, or to families whose children cannot yet swim.
The Lodela barge is the project of a lifetime. This wonderful story has been going on for over 21 years now, and the owner's passion for his Lodela is as strong as ever, reflected in the welcome he extends to his guests.
The care taken in the work and the materials chosen for the renovation of this boat bear witness to a craftsman's know-how that offers the ideal setting for unforgettable holidays on the Canal du Midi.

The boat offered even more space than the pictures "turned s. The kitchen is really big, the room spacious. The spacious double cabin has its own bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. There are two spacious twin cabins with opposite as" n same bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. Absolutely great! What is not in the picture 's state is the large awning on the deck. A beautiful, bright fabrics cover that blocks the view by any means, but which stops the sun perfectly. We had 34 degrees and can sit on deck. This deck is indeed so large that there is enough space in the sun blown overblijft.En further the reality TV between 07:00 and 19:00 the lock is operated and boat hire boats along that does not always go smoothly -..) We sat on the boat Sunday moreover ringside at Carcassonne marathon was run along the path on the other side. There, walking, running, bicycling for recreation, always nice to see. Good bikes, lovely quiet area, nice opportunity for uitstapjes.De boat has its own path , so there is no past.

Beautifully situated boat, the landlord was unlikely helpful and nice - we sauwohl gefühlt.Von the location itself offer wonderful cycling tours in the city or along the Canal to. Beautiful excursions to the Black Mountains, the Pyrenees can be undertaken from there. A day on the boat is never boring, because you're not alone walkers, runners, cyclists and Hobbykäpitäne happen slowly the boat. - To Greet nice, wishes you a good journey and already comes the next ...

We have a fantastic week behind in "our" boat. The kids loved it, the deck terrace, the partridge gates in the chambers, the activity at the lock, the other boats sailing by ... Hugues, the owner, is incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. He brought us a heater because it was predicted that it would be very cold "night! The scenery is magnificent, cycling along the canal is easy also with children (and there are bicycles on board). Overall a must for those who want a peaceful vacation in a separate area, we will definitely return!

We stayed 2 weeks at the peniche.We for our lives ruined by location, so you will not get anywhere else aantreffen.Allereerst a compliment to the owner, a very friendly man for whom nothing is too much is.De peniche is an oasis where the whole world voobij trekt.De tourist shipping through the Canal du Midi is of international alloy which is a special experience, so many nice mensen.Menig Frenchman looked at "our" cutting with a little afgunst.Gelukkig fell upon departure a splash rain, goodbye little less difficult was.De peniche is indeed more completely equipped than in the first instance is aangegeven.Wasmachine and a perfect oven, microwave and last but not least, 2 toilletten.Genieten and live in "La Douce France", top!

We were welcomed by a very friendly (boat) owner who can be proud of his holiday. "La peniche Lodela" is a must for those who love peace, nature and relaxation holds. The original location on Canal du Midi, just a lock, ensure that you have some distraction during the day, the holiday boats that pass, while after 19h have complete rest. The children then amused with giant rowing in a rubber boat or fish from the deck. The area is definitely worth it, and you can make day trips fantastically beautiful. Only downside, the bikes were too big for our kids (8 and 10 years), otherwise we certainly made a day trip by bike along the "Canal du Midi". Overall, highly recommended. Fam. Moons, Puurs

A very special holiday on the 85y-old Lodela, on the Canal du Midi.De boat is stationary or at his place, but sailing miss niet.Het views, and the quiet life around, cares enough to enjoy. Especially under the hood, which surely needed in the warm southern France. Carcassonne has a beautiful old giant castle, well worth a visit.

We stayed a week at the end of June this boat. The houseboat has been converted with much love for a pleasant stay. The owner is very enthusiastic and welcoming. We had wonderful weather and just stayed on the top deck. In bad weather you can sit in fine, although we have doubts about the comfort of the sofa and chairs in the seating area. The beds are fine and the kitchen is fully equipped voorzien.Overdag come regularly and pleasure over the affairs of the lock is sometimes downright entertaining. Across the channel runs a bike / pedestrian path where much use is made of.

The houseboat is a dream! The interior is perfect (2 bathrooms with toilets and shower!) And nothing is missing. The weather was great and we were always able to stay on the deck while the kids were fishing from a boat the food. For the nap we are back in the cabins and we turned on the air conditioning. Otherwise it was too hot ... The beds were really comfortable and you hardly noticed that we have on a ship only waren.Das boat rocked slightly as other boats passed sind.Die area is to discover beautiful and the bikes can go well along the Canal du Midi. Carcassonne is only 5 km away, and we went there in the evening: the Parklplätze were free and most of the tourists were already weg.Als day trip we went to Andorra on Foix. On the way back we saw the most beautiful Cathar castle ruins (Peyrepetuse et Queribus). There is still so much to discover, that we will certainly come back. Hugues Droulers is very nice and speaks ... German! No small matter in France. The Lodela is really recommendable!

This holiday has everything. The owner of the ship is very friendly and welcoming. The location of the ship, near one of the locks on the Canal du Midi, ensures that day "shipping" traffic. End of May took the offer of boats for much fun. The Lodela is fully equipped. Kitchen Princes and princesses can enjoy themselves in the very well equipped kitchen, lounge enthusiasts are well catered for on the deck under a giant awning or in the cozy lounge deck. The location in the land of the Cathars offers plenty of opportunities for fun and educational field trips. In short, a must!

We spent a wonderful holiday at the Peniche "Lodela". It is a wonderful location in the middle of nature where you can watch the action of the "Canal du Midi" and a thrilling experience it. Life on the water is incomparable with a holiday home, although no one has to compromise on comfort. We will certainly return for another season on the "Lodela". A Wieterer plus is the nice and courteous owner of one with advice and practical support available. Definitely RECOMMENDED!!

Very friendly owner who received us well and who speaks several languages. Alternately by the tourist boat traffic along the canal and there is always something to see at a lock. We have a week of great fun on the boat. Nice and quiet, great facilities, plenty of space and good laugh everyday vacationers who can barely sail a yacht and still have to maneuver. The locks By bike, four present, the boat is nine kilometers to Carcassone doing fine but you can also beautiful running along the canal. Sympathetic boat owner that a final inspection is not necessary. Highly recommended.

Nice location. the boat is near a lock so there is a lot of contact with other pleasure boats on the canal di midi. Close carcasonne with amenities and sights in the Aude. A nice owner who also speaks English.

Houseboat is greater than expected, especially the keuken.Prachtig deck. Pleasant surroundings and close to everything in the area, provided that use of bicycle or car. Friendly and helpful host. 1 week was not enough, two weeks might be too long. Highly recommended, we will definitely go back one.

It was a beautiful experience, and weekly "live" on the Lôdela. What a beautiful place. During the day, the activity around the lock, "evening calm. And half an hour on the bike in Carcassonne. Many nearby attractions, old castles, picturesque villages. Overall, a wonderful place!

A holiday on a houseboat is something different! It is something more adventurous, you get to know a different kind of holiday living. Lovely terrace where we had a good and nice overview of the operation of the lock and passing holiday boats. Far from the busy roads and light pollution "at night. Enjoyable experiences with swinging for additional sailors. ... The area is fantastic for trips (both for nature walks as well as cultural attractions in the land of the Cathars). It was fun after outings not an ordinary holiday to come back but to be allowed to go into a fully equipped accommodation with well equipped kitchen, cozy living room, quiet bedroom (+ 2 smaller bedrooms for children), 2 small bathrooms gently with lovely showers. aboard short it was a dream vacation.

Beautiful historic boat, very spacious. Clean toilets and bathrooms. Even air conditioning! Nice location, next to the lock, so always something to see and what claim. But at the same time very quiet. Nice towns nearby. The bikes that are included in the rent you bike along the canal (ie completely flat) in 35 minutes to the beautiful historic city of Carcassonne and 20 minutes from Trebes. Spacious parking, garden next to the boat. Nice villages nearby, insanely large hypermarket less than 10 minutes away by car.
