We had a lovely 2 weeks at the villa, hosted wonderfully by Eve, who very discretely keeps the garden looking lovely throughout your stay. The photos don't do this place justice, the house is large and well appointed, and the very large garden is wonderful with lovely flowers, and lots of little hidden areas that the children loved playing in.

Oh, Eve. What a beautiful holiday home you have. This was the most expensive holiday home we have ever booked. That raises the necessary expectations. But this holiday home more than lives up to it. La Forêt-de-Tesse is an idyllic picture where time seems to have stood still. An old church and a cemetery mark Eve's holiday home. On arrival we are greeted by Eve, who apologizes for her poor command of the English language. However, she can express herself very well, during the tour and also during the rest of the stay. After a short tour we were allowed to put our stuff inside and explore the former farm. The house has on the ground floor a spacious, high living room, a kitchen that provides access to the Moroccan garden and a bathroom with toilet and shower. The first floor has three bedrooms (one with a queen-size bed, one with two single beds and a small room with a single bed) and a bathroom with toilet and bath. The house is FULL of board games and English novels. Even when it rains, you don't have to be bored. The house remained nice and cool even during very hot days, provided you neatly left all windows closed during the day. The outdoor space is very large. Just in front of the main entrance of the house is a covered stone veranda with a large six-person table, a table football (table) and a coal barbecue. Take the stairs down and you come to the spacious pool with sunbeds and a covered seating area with glass table. As you wander further, you will come to a pergola with an iron bench, surrounded by fruit trees and other greenery. Everywhere you will find places to sit and play games or drink a glass of wine. If you walk through, you enter the Moroccan garden with a covered bar, a stone border with cushion to sit on and a large dining table to enjoy a meal under the greenery. There are many activities to do in the area. However, we were so happy with the absolute peace and quiet

Our holiday here was peaceful bliss! A real gem in a tranquil rural setting. Well equipped with lots of games and books and all amenities you'd expect from a top class accommodation. Eve is a caring and friendly host, tending to the garden discreetly and always respectful of our privacy. Eve even left us umbrellas on a day when rain was forecast. There are bikes of various sizes available to use, which is a lovely touch. Our only regret is that we didn't book to stay for longer!

Very beautiful house!!
Eve, the hostess, is very friendly and discreet (lives in the house, the holiday home is a converted barn). Not a large, but very beautiful garden with many nooks and crannies. Plenty of sunbeds, chairs and cushions. The chairs at the outdoor dining table are not very comfortable despite the many cushions available.
I wouldn't rent it for 6 people, as there is only 1 really nice bedroom. The second room has a staircase in the room, 2 single beds on a platform with beams next to the beds, so be careful of your head! Third room accessible via a staircase (very difficult beams, be careful of your head) super mini room with a bed under which you can slide a single bed, only suitable for children I think.
The house is not really suitable for small children or people with mobility problems. There are too many steps, including stairs to the swimming pool. Getting into the pool is also difficult for older people and small children as the first step is very deep. Or you have to go directly into the deep part via the metal ladder. There were several (inflatable) toys for the pool. It is neatly and discreetly maintained.

We were there for 14 days as a couple with another friendly couple + our 78-year-old mother (who fortunately was still very good on her feet) and had a wonderful holiday. The house was perfect for us.

The kitchen had everything we needed, although there could have been more cooking pot (cooking spaghetti and making sauce for 5 was a bit difficult given only 1 large pot). A beautiful large oven. The photos show a gas barbecue, which was unfortunately not there. There is a very neat stone BBQ on the terrace, which we did not use due to too much hassle with charcoal (which was present by the way) and the weather was too hot ;-).

There is absolutely nothing to do in the village. You need at least a bicycle (available in the house) to go to the bakery (if you are not in good condition, electric is available).

Large house. Nice quiet location for a stay with a large garden. You can sit in many different locations outside in the sun or shade. Located between multiple interesting cities. Lot of steps in the house. Bedrooms are upstairs. Car is necessary.

Susan and Graham welcomed us with open arms, they were very friendly. The house, garden, pool, ... looked exactly like it was pictured! We came with a group of 6 youngsters (21y) and yet they were very welcoming. When we had a question, they always came quickly to the rescue.

With our family with three teenagers we have had a wonderful week in this beautiful villa. The tranquility, huge garden and pool are wonderful. Eve discreetly ensures that you are fully equipped during your stay. When it rained one morning, for example, there were already umbrellas ready for us when we came outside. In the afternoon the weather was lovely again and we could enjoy the pool again. Highly recommended.
