It is a very nice area there really is something for hikers. 30 km from the holiday home is a decorative glass studio that should not be missed. To eat out are good and cheap restaurants. It is worth while you are at rest and of walking.

The cottage was fully equipped and looked very responsible, the owner is very friendly and very helpful. We had great luck with the weather when you have so much snow and s' night -10 C in mid-April you are not the target. With summer tires we could not take much under the car and have still been good, the cottage was well heated and therefore had nothing to complain.

We even got a lift to the kebab shop a village verderop.Prachtige surroundings, lovely walks made with our hond.In the village itself is not much to do but if you come for peace and beautiful nature then you are good. Supermarket is 3km away but this is fine too doen.Huisje is quite cozy. Big enough for 2 or 3 people. Plenty of storage. Large garden deposited and therefore perfect for the dog. Thanks for a barbecue on site. In the beds we slept. In the kitchen is everything. Please just note that there are only two burners (come to me soon a new stove in). Unfortunately, the pool was too cold to swim in but despite that we had a wonderful holiday. To be repeated.

The trails are well marked. The access route was well marked. We were welcomed by an extremely friendly mrs. Macholdt. We could always contact her with questions if desired \/ noodzakelijk.Vanuit the cottage were to make several very nice walks. The forests in which many beech trees with red and golden yellow jackets were superb. Weimar and (especially, but that's personal) Erfurt are 60 to 70 km. Despite the distance, the cities are definitely worth a visit.The cottage itself has all gemakken.Kortom This holiday is worth repeating.

We stayed in a nice house to accommodate up to 2 people. Serves 4 very tight. With a nice balcony for tasty breakfasts and tea / coffee moments. Very well equipped cottage with pool. The pool was after rain, however brown. the owner told me that this was because there was a top Quelle brownish sand it flush and flowed into the pool. So after rain the water is very brown and not suitable for swimming.

The holiday home is cozy and the enclosed garden was lovely for our dogs! The neighbors were very special (Scottish Highlanders). They came running towards us as soon as they saw us! The pool is unheated. The water comes from the source and is super cold, but that was wonderful after a tiring walk. The Thuringian forests are in our opinion quite boring compared to other areas in Germany and the route is not always clearly indicated. We have therefore often gone wrong. But walking around the lakes is super nice! Erfurt and Weimar are beautiful cities to visit and the glass factory in Lauscha and the Greiner Glas Manufaktur are cozy outings for rest days.

The highlight was the oven which we used diligently. There was always enough wood. Due to snoring, one person could switch to the second bedroom. Our 2 dogs were also very welcome. Cozy warm and clean house. Very quiet and pretty centrally located in Thuringen (from the cottage you can make beautiful walks). Very friendly owners. Everything you need is here (even high chair, cot, children's cutlery and crockery and two sled 's, but eg also a hairdryer, kettle, toaster and extensive folder with environmental tips). On one side beautiful view over the mountain and meadows with kids. During the winter you can also ski from the house and the luge hang (to sledge) and see the overlying hütte (1 coke for 0.50 Euros!). This was during the weekends and open during holidays in Germany. Unfortunately the elevator was closed by the week during our vacation, but in the area are still plenty of other ski possibilities. A week in Alice. A fine house, the basket for the dog was ready with a nice pad in it. 2 persons very suitable for 4 somewhat small. Especially for children the staircase is somewhat clumsy. Furthermore, in the neighborhood just too much to do / get. Really for tranquility and walkers like us. On Saturday there is no shop more open when you arrive, just in neighboring village and on Sunday everything is closed. Keep this in mind. On 20 June 2015, my mother (83 years) and I (47 years) to Altenfeld, ferrienhaus Alice traveled. On arrival we were welcomed and tidy by the grandmother. They even showed where everything was in the house, and if we have questions, we can always ring the bell. The first 4 days the weather was hit and miss but soon the weather and yes it was, with a heat wave. The cottage is small but doable. Behind the house were two bulls that my dogs were absolutely fabulous. Every morning the two bulls were waiting for the gate to a hug. You can sit in the garden, and especially with this heat it was nice to just take a dip in your private pool. A small minus Erfurt is approximately 60 km. of Altenfeld, if you want to shop then take the time to do to get there. Further, had a wonderful holiday and the owner / landlady were very friendly. My wife and I (56 and 60) had rented this house for 14 days. The site said that in the village bakery, two restaurants, would be a supermarket and a beer lounge. Unfortunately, this was not right. The only bedding was a small restaurant. Furthermore, there was absolutely nothing going on in the village! It is a very cozy and complete house. It has been built for small people. We were very lucky with the weather for October and have seen a lot of the surroundings, again very beautiful. We still recommend the Rennsteig. Unfortunately, not everything was clean in the house and there was little to no range of WiFi in the house. Well had a top holiday.

The holiday was great. We have experienced a lot of glass blowing to the visitation of the winter sports facilities in Oberhof. The landscape invites for hiking and is excellent for an extensive relaxation.

The accommodation was very nice. The cottage lag on the main plot in the rear area completely isolated. Generally, the house was on the outer edge of the village. A few seconds walk and you were already in the sprawling far and had access to the Rennsteig. The landlady was very nice. The house was neat, clean and comfortably furnished. Einzuges drawback was the wireless internet, which was unfortunately hardly available with the phone. Only with the laptop on the kitchen window it was present. But that was probably better that way, because you could get some rest and relax.

Very friendly welcome. The house is located only a short distance from the forest which leads to extensive hikes. in the village itself there are unfortunately no more shopping possibilities. The equipment is consistently to be described as good and suitable by the Umzäung for peace seekers with dog. The only restriction is the very narrow and steep spiral staircase which is unsuitable for the elderly and those with disabilities.

This holiday house has fulfilled all our expectations. It has been lovingly decorated and the highlight is of course the pool. The heater works well in the summer (when it's colder times - we had the bad luck) and for the comfort there is also still a fireplace. The house is fully fenced with garden, which is great if you have a dog as we do. The landlords are very nice sociable people who have welcomed us warmly. Around pure nature and many possibilities to hike or explore by bicycle the area. We were very satisfied and would recommend the cottage highly enough.
