The villa in Herbeumont is just a short walk from the city center, which was great for getting something to eat or exploring. I loved relaxing by the fireplace after hiking on the nearby forest trails. The spacious layout made me feel right at home. With all the amenities, this place felt really cozy and welcoming during my stay.

This accommodation was much better than I had expected for working remotely. The fast Wi-Fi meant that I could complete my tasks while enjoying the beautiful views in the surroundings. The fully equipped kitchen helped me prepare meals effortlessly and made my longer stay pleasant and productive.

The Ardennes are a beautiful area to spend a vacation, but the house where we stayed was quite a letdown for our holiday. It started with the arrival... normally you receive the key from the owner and can ask questions or get tips about what to do. We did not see the owner, the door was open and we could just walk into the house. There was also no brochure or paper with information about where to leave the trash, for example. We found the house dirty, pans, lids, and cutlery were not properly clean, you could still see the cooking liquid with food residues on the lid. Mugs were also not properly clean. We washed everything before we used anything. The BBQ outside was also not emptied, just like the wood stove inside. The house is meant for 9 people, and it is also handy that there are glasses or mugs for 9 people. We had to buy mugs ourselves to drink coffee during the vacation. The interior also left much to be desired. The front door sticks, the toilet bowls are loose, some doors of the kitchen cabinets are loose or have sagged. We did not use the dishwasher because it was full of food scraps, the washing machine was too dirty to wash your laundry in, and the dryer was full of lint. The couch in the room has sagged so much that you could hardly get out of it. Some people from our group were therefore forced to sit on the dining room chairs during our stay. Upstairs in the bathroom, it was not much better; in one bathroom, there was a drawer under the sinks that falls out when you try to use it. The shower faucet in the bath provides far too little water, so you cannot use it to rinse yourself off. In 2 of the bedrooms, there is a window that could not be in the 'tilt position' because we were afraid that the window would then fall out. During a shower of one of us, we heard dripping at one point and it turned out that water was coming through the ceiling. This was probably caused by the sealant edges in the shower coming loose. All in all, there was so much wrong in terms of deferred maintenance that we just left it at that. In reviews from May and June, certain issues have already been mentioned, and apparently the owner does not find it necessary to take action. Despite everything, we did have a nice vacation, but that was certainly not because of the house where we stayed. We will surely go on vacation in the Belgian Ardennes again, but then we will look for another place to stay.

Reception because the key manager only speaks French poorly. Size of the house, dated, kitchen is very old, items in the kitchen cabinets are scattered in the drawers that are not clean. Cabinet above the extractor hood incomplete. Microwave dirty due to rust. Oven tray contains old food residues. Given the weather conditions, cold in the house and not adjustable by oneself. Upstairs fine beds. Showers work well, in one shower the water sprays towards the door. You cannot stand well under it. In the residence, there is no book or manual available regarding house rules and key transfer after the rental period.

It was good there and warmly received by the landlords; the only downside was that the grass could have been mowed and the pétanque court could have been cleaned up as well. For the rest, everything was good, definitely worth repeating.

Aged house. Especially bathrooms could use some refreshing/updating: new shower(head) and drain. Water remained high in the shower tray. Poor beds/mattresses, especially the double bed in the attic room. In the other attic room, there was no blackout. The kitchen could definitely use an upgrade, coffee maker didn't work well, cabinets were well equipped (many plates and glasses) but very disorganized, poor frying pans. Spacious enough for 8 people and 3 dogs. The enclosed garden was definitely a plus. Only annoying that there is no barrier between the living room and the front door (be careful that the dogs don't run outside).

Our stay from Friday, September 12 to Monday, September 15 with our family and my parents; 8 adults and 2 pets was generally very nice. The house is spacious, cozy decorated, and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Perfectly suitable for a family weekend, we really enjoyed the peace and the coziness together. The location is ideal: a small supermarket almost next door and a few nice dining options nearby. For those who love silence and nature, this is a lovely place to escape the hustle and bustle. A few points of attention: the stairs and floors creak quite a bit, which can be somewhat disturbing, especially in the evening. Also, the sauna that was mentioned with the cottage was unfortunately out of order, which was a disappointment as we were really looking forward to it. The large garden is beautiful and perfect for nice weather, but unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy it due to the rain. Finally, a personal downside: I lost my earrings and ring during the stay. The owner would still look for them, but later received a message from Anne that nothing was found – very unfortunate. Despite these small disappointments, it was otherwise a wonderful stay, and for the quality time with family, we would definitely consider coming back – hopefully with a working sauna and fewer creaking noises.
