It is one of the last Ardennes farms in square whose manor house dates from 1783. This 18th century building housed in its vaulted cellars an old Péket distillery (a Liège alcohol well known in the region). The owner is passionate about floral decoration and her entire property is filled with resplendissant flowerbeds. Her vegetable garden is rich in biodiversity. Two Shetland ponies graze in the meadow next to your private garden. Don't miss the guided tour upon your arrival and its surprise tastings. The fully enclosed square courtyard guarantees your peace of mind, reinforced by the recent installation of new window frames with double glazing. The walls are up to 1 m thick, offering coolness on hot days and warmth in winter next to the wood-burning fireplace.
There are 3 bedrooms named after their color: the Dolphin, the Cherry and the Navy. Fully equipped kitchen (Bosch, microwave, Nespresso and Senseo with milk foam (bring your favorite capsules), dishwasher, etc). You eat in the garden directly through the kitchen door or inside on a corner farm bench for your breakfasts and/or in the dining room on a large oval table.
There is a large playroom for ping-pong. Health trail in the forest of Thirimont.
The center of the village of Waimes is 500m away by the private path. Butcher's shop, restaurants, catering service, playground, tennis, mountain bike rental. There are more than 45 clearly marked hiking trails from 6 to 15 km with 3 levels of difficulty (a= easy, b= normal c= steep) through the High Venn Nature Park , the Bayon valley at the foot of Rheinshardstein Castle around the lakes of Robertville and Butgenbach. Guided tour through the Moore with a certified nature guide.
The nearby towns of Malmedy, Stavelot, Eupen, Monschau (Germany) are rich in cultural activities such as classical concerts, cinema, shopping, bars, etc.)
A real haven of peace in complete disconnection from the hectic life!

The farmhouse is a charming mix of history and comfort. We appreciated the thick walls that kept the house cool, and the wood-burning fireplace was a nice addition. Local restaurants were convenient for lunch.

We were received most friendly by the owner of the holiday accommodation. Unfortunately she only speaks French and we do not speak at all, but with gestures and so you come a long way. A charming house, fully equipped and nicely decorated. The layout is somewhat different, but also charming. Personally we found the beds not so comfortable and the couch in the living room is not ideal for tall people, but the cottage exudes a lot of warmth and cosiness and the garden behind the house is great. So all in all we had a good time. It is a nice base for all kinds of fun things to do, such as hiking (especially hike 4 is a must), cycling, canoeing on the Embleve or hanging out at one of the reservoirs, railbiken, or Reinhardstein visits or one of the towns in the neighbourhood. So plenty to do if you like an active holiday.

Beautiful characteristic cottage with a nice courtyard and beautiful backyard. Field at the back in the yard with two sweet ponies. The children have received two "holiday loves" with this. Dear owner, who welcomed us with schnapps and pretzels in the courtyard. On arrival she was exceptionally not there herself, but we were well taken care of and shown around by the tuinman.Prima facilities in the huis.De environment is very nice and there is plenty to do.If we have to mention negatives, it is the somewhat outdated toilet with creaky doorklink.Echter totally subordinate to the many positive points.We would like to come back.
