We have just returned from a lovely holiday in the "Vennhaus". A spacious and clean house. We have stayed there with six adults, a baby and a large dog. Contrary to what state this is a detached property that you have the garden for you alone on the Bell Villa website. A beautiful garden where we enjoyed. We also had two weeks of full sunshine. The house is well situated in the immediate vicinity of forest and nature reserves. The house was very outdated. Photos on the site do not correspond to reality. The boiler had an ignition problem, which we had to solve ourselves, luckily we were handy ourselves. It was a nice holiday with our (adult) children. Nearby nature is beautiful, but there is also plenty to do (especially in the sports field). We walked delicious, cycling etc. The rail bike from Leykoul (with us at the corner of the street) was very fun.The house was pretty big. Down a lot older, but above finely renovated. Beautiful bedrooms, excellent bathrooms and good beds. The furniture downstairs (at least the couch and sitting chairs) is really improvement. It was not really clean down. We, a family of eight adult baby / toddler of 20 months and two dogs, had a nice week in the spacious Vennhaus! Quietly situated in the woods in a small village just a short distance to the wonderful bike path and close to the German border. Obviously you have to yourself for fun / entertainment worries but that is always available if you want to see it. Bedrooms and bathrooms fine! Ground floor spacious and well dated but it also has its charm. The two downsides are the tiny sink (especially for a home where you can stay with 11 persons) and the sofa / chairs where you can hardly or off.

Together with our dog, a big Doberman we enjoyed the environment, nature and silence. The info center in Butgenbach we bought a hiking and having walked about 13 km daily. The weather gods were with us and our four-legged friend was really in his element. We had a lovely stay last weekend. We were perfectly placed to visit Cologne and Aachen for their beautiful Christmas markets. Culture lived in the picturesque town of Monschau and other smaller villages, hiked in the High Fens and enjoyed the varied nature. The children are enthusiastic (Alpine) climbers, who one day their skills tested on the rocks at Nideggen while we could make good. We have spent a wonderful week in Küchelscheid. There are many possibilities for walks and excursions in the neighborhood. The area is very beautiful, both in Germany and in Belgium. Vennhaus is well located in a corner of the East Cantons. Shopping is within + - 2 km in Kalterherberg Germany. (Small supermarket and bakery) The location of the house is superb. Very nice area on the border of Germany and Belgium. Occasionally, some confusion about what language we speak again. We have huge hit with the beautiful autumn weather. Because impaired accommodation (ground floor only) is our holiday ended one day earlier. The kitchen where food should be prepared, was far below par. The cabinets are full of unnecessary (surplus) materials, making private matters had to be put on the ground. Broken oven, refrigerator seal. Loading cutlery overcrowded and broken. All left trinkets, tea, coffee filters, etc. etc. can be better removed. Very distasteful and unsanitary for new tenants. Very nice holiday polite in this Belgian green lung. Kuchelscheid is located in the protected natural park Eifel. Very friendly welcome! Definitely a must for those who look up the rest. On the border with Germany and never far from big cities as a base. Friendly neighbors, very nice (walking) environment. Property may be a little outdated but does not interfere. I always think if you want the same comfort as home then .... you should stay at home. Definitely recommended

Early September 2010 we experienced a wonderful holiday week in this spacious, cozy holiday; We were welcomed by the very friendly eigenaars.We might even enjoy their vegetable garden at the vakantiewoning.Voor tranquility and age groups (walking, cycling) is this property ideal: central the High Fens and the Eifel to explore. The beautiful half-timbered town Monschau is only a dozen km.De owner is committed to modernizing the interior. There are two beautiful bedrooms upstairs each with a beautiful bathroom. The kitchen is to be renewed, but that will in the near future beurt.Prijs - quality: a stunner! Highly recommended.

Quietly located house in a beautiful area with good facilities (supermarket, bakery, restaurant) 2 km away. The layout of the bedrooms is a bit strange, but not insurmountable for our group of friends.

We were a large family of eight over the weekend at the Vennhaus and felt very comfortable there. Everything was clean and tidy, the kitchen well-equipped, the beds comfortable and not sagging. The rating "Fantastic" was not achieved for us because the heating could not be regulated (it only went fully on or completely off) and there was no Wi-Fi, which should be standard nowadays. Some of the furniture is also somewhat dated. As mentioned, we still enjoyed it and would come back.

What is outdated but everything works! Not spotless but clean enough to stay. Everything is available for the first few days… soap, toilet paper, coffee, tea, salt & pepper! Great! 3 toilets... 2 bathrooms. Staying with more people works fine. Large terrace in the garden. Not completely enclosed but that wasn't a problem since my dogs don't run away. Kneip on the corner. Very quiet and silent road; slept wonderfully. I did miss a fan... it was hot. But the house has thick walls so it was cooler than I thought. Ants did come out from a crack in the 2nd bathroom and the eugff came to solve it! Unfortunately... they came back because the crack remained open. Once it's closed, it should be solved for good! I had a great stay! And the owner is very friendly and helpful! And the surroundings are amazing for walkers and cyclists. Ravel paths! I will come back!
