This spacious, detached chalet for a maximum of 12 people is located in a wonderfully rural location in beautiful Gnesau, in the upper Gurktal on the south side of the Gurktal Alps in the sunny south of Carinthia, close to the well-known ski areas and Carinthian lakes, and its size makes it ideal for several families or a larger group .
The chalet offers two comfortable living rooms (1 with a dining table, 1 with a seating area and both with a large balcony), two well-equipped kitchens, six bedrooms and four bathrooms, one of which has an integrated sauna and one with a washing machine and dryer. The chalet also offers a carport, a storage room for bicycles and a large garden with garden furniture. There is parking space for several cars at the chalet.
In summer, Gnesau offers a wide selection for all hiking lovers, from leisurely circular hiking trails to alpine hiking tours, but there is also a lot on offer for enthusiastic cyclists. Due to the central location, all larger bathing lakes such as Lake Ossiach, Lake Millstättersee and Lake Wörthersee with the sophisticated seaside resort of Velden as well as all larger cities (Feldkirchen, Villach and Klagenfurt) can be reached in a maximum of 35 minutes by car.
Go skiing, snowboarding or ski touring in one of the nearby ski areas Turracher Höhe with 42 kilometers of slopes, Falkert Heidi Alm with 11 kilometers of slopes, Hochrindl in Sirnitz with 20 kilometers of slopes, Bad Kleinkirchheim with over 100 kilometers of slopes and 2 thermal baths or Gerlitzen Alpe with 52 kilometers of slopes, all are in Approximately 30 minutes by car.
There are plenty of shops for your daily needs directly in town or in Feldkirchen, as well as a good selection of restaurants.

We spent 7 nights at the Mooshaus in Gnesau with our family of 5 adults and 2 dogs. We thought it was a very nice, spacious holiday home. We were several couples and thought it was ideal that there were so many bathrooms and bedrooms. We found the very complete inventory striking. We also enjoyed the great wood stove. Upon arrival we found the house very clean and all beds were made.

Upon entering the house was disappointing. The photos on the website are not realistic. In real life it is smaller and much darker. The house was also not cleaned properly and we first had to do a lot of cleaning ourselves.
After a few days you will get used to it and it will become an increasingly nice house. Despite the fact that there are many defects in the house, we had a fairly pleasant stay in this house.

We are already the third time in this house! Unfortunately things have gotten worse. We always came here as a family group (grandparents with children, children-in-law and grandchildren) now there are few dishes and pots, it is almost impossible to cook for yourself. A lot of things are broken, like the floor on the terrace, this is especially dangerous for our little ones! In addition, the house is dirty, like a fully urinated carpet! In the basement, by also sleeping 4 people, it is damp and moldy! The shower stalls are broken, the sink is clogged, the oven and toaster were very dirty, the egg cooker is broken! Defects are only superficially repaired upon request!
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this house and will not book it again in the future.

Recently stayed at this place at the end of June. Initially found the place quite unclean with many cobwebs. It had obviously not been used recently. The downstairs rooms in the basement were very damp, and not really useable for sleeping so as we were 12 people we had to use the lounges to sleep un upstairs. On Sunday morning when there, we woke to find the basement flooding, as the drains were blocked and all the toilet and shower waste was coming out of the basement toilet. We called the owner at 8am to ask for help. By lunchtime they said they could not get a plumber as it was Sunday, so we called one ourselves who came and fixed the drains but we had to pay EUR 360 to him. So far the owner has not responded to requests for reimbursement. A few days before we were due to leave we found a mouse running around in the basement as another dead one too. We decided then to head home early. I would not recommend this place, I know things go wrong on holidays but the owner was non-contactable, and did not assist at all.

Apartment was very cold on arrival, so after the meter reading was recorded we could heat the house. House is cozy and complete but the kitchen inventory was messy divided between the 2 kitchens. And by our standards we find the apartment not clean.

A room could not be used because there was / is moisture and the heating did not work. All heating is electronic and electricity is billed separately.

Everything was just great and wonderful :-) There were 10 people and had a great time with barbecues, playing games, listening to music, sitting in the sun (June), etc.

We were 12 adults and 1 children and there were plenty of bathrooms and toilets. There are also two washing machines present, very nice! We were traveling with 6 people and 2 dogs. Everything was clean, the beds made and towels were also available. The carport had space for our 2 cars. There were enough bins for waste disposal. At an outside temperature of 25+, we still have to turn on the heater on that floor. The owner is sympathetic and resolves our complaints asap.
