The holiday house AMALIA lies directly above the nice sandy dune beach of Pyrgi, on the western coast of Peloponnese, approx. 15km northwest of the city Pyrgos and 12km north of the picturesque port Katakolo. Directly at the beach, where once stood the simple fisherman´s cottages of the people of Aghios Ilias, today you find many holiday houses, but also a few modest fisherman´s houses still in good condition.
The holiday house AMALIA is in a slight hillside location, in a row with other summer houses directly at the seashore and the dune beach. The holiday house is simply and practically furnished, providing a modest living comfort, a beautiful view across the Ionian Sea, fantastic beach and bathing conditions and magnificent sunsets. The wonderful sandy beach is close to the house (40mtr), gently sloping into the sea and therefore especially suitable for families with children.
The rustic holiday house AMALIA has a small, well-maintained garden with lawn and a beautiful roofed terrace. Entry to the house is on ground level via the terrace, two steps up from the garden. Adjoining to the living room is the open kitchenette separated by a counter. From the living room you can directly access the roofed terrace and the garden. The living room is leading to the bedrooms with the shared bathroom.
Sunbeds and parasols are available at the fine sandy beach right in front of your holiday house. About 150 mtr away there is a kite school that offers watersports.

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche. Unser Highlight war die große Terrasse mit Blick auf das Meer. Das Häuschen war sehr sauber und hatte alles, was wir brauchten.

Nice cottage with garden just 20 meters from a free sandy beach with clear water and lifeguard on duty. Only negative is the village nearby that has no services at all.

We were welcomed very kindly by the hosts. Everything we needed was explained to us well. The owners are very nice and helpful. We were also provided with fresh eggs ;o) Although it was mostly over 30 degrees and we are sensitive to heat, we did not miss having air conditioning. The sea always let a fresh breeze blow to the beautiful large terrace. Drinks are served on the beach. Not far from the house, there are also good taverns where you can enjoy delicious food comfortably. Relaxing quiet nights are self-evident here. Anytime again. Thank you very much.

In this pleasantly airy holiday home with its spacious terrace (very well shaded and equipped with 4 fans), we spent a wonderful vacation. We were warmly welcomed, provided with many gifts (figs, eggs, cake), and there were always fresh towels and bed linen. It's a pity that there was hardly any communication possible, as we don't speak Greek and the landlords don't speak English or German at all. The house has good sleeping options and provides everything else you need. It was great to be able to swim at any time in the beautiful sandy beach, rinse the sand off with the outdoor shower, look out at the sea from a lounger in the garden, and watch the sunset over Zakynthos in the evening. With a rental car, it is also a good starting point for excursions, such as to Olympia, Pyrgos, Kiparissia, or to the mountains to visit old monasteries. We were also able to take a day trip to Delphi via the Rion-Antirrion Bridge. One criticism: Unfortunately, the peace at night was often severely disturbed by very loud barking dogs and other animals right in front of the bedroom window.

The location is fantastic... only 50m from the sandy beach with a view of the sea. Many locals and a beautiful, almost secluded beach. Suitable for families, as the beach slopes gently into the sea.

Nous avons passé 5 nuits de ce logement à la décoration kitsch mais bien équipé. Sa proximité avec une plage déserte en ce début mai en fait un bien d’exception. Nous voulions le calme, loin d’une zone touristique et nous l’avons eu.

Beautiful vacation house in a quiet location with a view of the sea. Everything is very clean and we lacked nothing. Very nice hosts and nice neighborhood. The beach is not even 50m away and the crystal clear water still invites you to swim in October. Olympia and various sights can be reached in about 45 minutes.

We were positively surprised, the sea was right in front of the door and the beach was also quite long, so you could go swimming undisturbed. The lifeguard was also on site and the Koureta turtles also visited the beach. It is very important for us to have a little holiday like the locals. The baker came every morning except Sunday, otherwise you can do a bit of shopping outside.

We felt super comfortable during our 2 weeks. The house is simply furnished, but everything you need is available or provided by the landlord. Super nice, helpful landlord couple. We spent the 14 days on the beautiful terrace with sea view and great sunsets. The wind is always blowing, so it's good to stay even at lunchtime. The sandy beach 40 metres away is beautiful, falls very shallowly into the sea and is also suitable for children. We will be very happy to come back.

The only real pity was that there was hardly any communication possible, as we didn't know any Greek and the landlords didn't know any English or German. The house has good sleeping facilities and also offers everything else you need.
It was great to be able to swim in the sea at the beautiful sandy beach at any time, to rinse off the sand with the outdoor shower, to look out at the sea from a lounger in the garden and to watch the sunset over Zakynthos in the evening.
With a rental car, it is also a good starting point for excursions, e.g. to Olympia, Pyrgos, Kiparissia, or into the mountains to ancient monasteries. We were also able to take a day trip to Delphi via the Rion-Antirrion bridge.
One criticism: Unfortunately, the night's rest was often heavily disturbed by dogs and other animals barking very loudly directly in front of the bedroom window.

There is a restaurant on the beach. Not far from the house there are also good tavernas where you can eat delicious food.
