Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans cette maison de vacances. Elle est très bien située (plages, petits commerces), très bien équipée et proche du site magnifique d'Olympie. Le propriétaire est très sympathique et disponible. Nous reviendrons très certainement dans cette région et dans cette location en particulier car nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable !

As a family with two kids, we enjoyed Octopus and the area. Very quite. Perfect location close to wonderful natural beaches, as well as to visit Ancient Olympia. The house is very nice, well equipped and comfortable. Excellent welcome and organization!

Das Grundstück ist sehr schön und mit dem Auto ist man in ca. 10min am Strand. Das Haus ist sehr einfach aber funktional eingerichtet. Wenn das Wetter schlecht ist, hat man dort keine bequeme Sitzmöglichkeit. Da wir uns aber die gesamte Zeit draußen aufhalten konnten, waren wir zufrieden. Ein paar Gartenliegen wären toll! Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

We (2 adults, 1 child, and 1 poodle) felt very comfortable in the Octopus accommodation. Everything was as described and the very nice landlord takes care of any defective devices immediately (e.g. coffee machine). In addition to the description, there are now two nice, stable garden loungers and a toaster and iron are also available. All in all, a very nice, quietly located house.

A slightly older but very nice little house in a very quiet location, surrounded by a large olive grove. Perfect for relaxing and taking walks. Next to it is a large meadow where sheep graze in the evenings, which also contributes to relaxation. About 5 minutes by car there is a small village with shopping facilities, a bakery and a grocery store. Additionally, you can eat well at the "Zorbas" hotel. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes by car to get to the sea. The very long sandy beach is almost deserted in September/October. The German landlord is very friendly, easy to reach, and happy to provide information. Don't forget mosquito spray for the evenings in autumn.

In the middle of the countryside in an idyllic landscape, yet not far from the sea and the city. Simple house, but everything necessary is available, with a beautiful garden. Good value for money, very nice landlord. We took many trips by car. Andreas

We like neither traffic noise nor tourist crowds, and you won't find either here at all. The property is large, with plenty of space for children to play, ample shade, and if you have an extension rope with you, you can hang a hammock between the olive trees. Everything is secluded, and you can only vaguely glimpse the neighbor's house through the trees. The house is not huge, but you will be mostly outside anyway. The hostess is very friendly and speaks German, which was very pleasant. When an air conditioner was broken, it was fixed within 24 hours of our call! In Myrtia, you can get almost everything in the small family-run supermarket even on Sundays (otherwise there are Lidl and Eurospar in Pyrgos), there are also butchers and bakers, the food at the Zorbas tavern is good and cheap. The only annoying thing is the dogs within a 5 km radius that bark almost constantly at night. One, two, sometimes five, it's rarely quiet. If you want to sleep with an open window, it's better to bring earplugs. Then you won't hear the neighbor either, who makes noise every morning between 8 and 9 a.m. with his gas-powered lawn trimmer for a quarter of an hour... hence only 4 stars. It's easy to find a secluded sandy beach, but finding one with at least some shade is not :-) The drive from the house to our 6 km distant beach is marked at http://goo.gl/maps/pDNw4, where you can sit in the shade under a tree until 5 p.m. with 3-4 people. The children can play there because of a sandbank and a small freshwater inflow. "Peloponnese" by Hans-Peter Siebenhaar in the latest edition is recommended as a guidebook. It introduces many lesser-known attractions, such as the beautiful (overgrown) road between Figalia and Platania, from where you can drive down into the valley and take a 20-minute hike to the impressive ruins of the ancient city of Karnasai.

Absolutely excellent for those seeking peace and not necessarily needing a lot of comfort. Olive trees and rose bushes provide absolute privacy. There are no neighbors in the immediate vicinity, creating an idyllic rural setting. A beautiful sandy beach is a 30-40 minute walk away, and in the village of Mirthia (15 minutes on foot) there is a lovely tavern owned by the Zobras family; a good supermarket is about 10 km away in Pirgos. Bicycles are highly recommended and without a car, there is not much you can do. Everything necessary is available in the house, it could be a bit more modern, but everything is functional.

This simple yet functional house, surrounded by pure nature, impressed us. Highly recommended for holidays with a dog, as the entire large property is fenced. The landlords are absolutely dog-friendly. A vehicle is required. The holiday home is located off the beaten path, but not isolated, and shopping and dining options in the nearby village of Mirtia are available and easily accessible. Our personal description: Peace, relaxation, holidays with a dog = Villa Octopus!

Small, very quiet, truly remote holiday home in the middle of an olive grove! Getting there is a bit tricky, a 4WD would be helpful. The landlord Mr. Scheu is exceptionally friendly and uncomplicated, very reserved, really pleasant. The beach is about 3km away, even within walking distance. Taverne Zorbas nearby was not that great, but there are good alternatives. Just ask Mr. Scheu. The house offers everything you need besides the terrace: 1 kitchen, 1 shower, 2 bedrooms. You mainly stay outside. Attention: don't forget mosquito spray. All in all, a house that I can recommend with a clear conscience. Very good value for money.

If you are really looking for peace and seclusion, this is the place for you. We loved this house. Sufficient for 5 people. Flocks of sheep, melon fields and solitude outside the fence. Nevertheless, you can be at the sea or wherever in a few minutes by car.

The manager is very friendly and speaks German, which was very pleasant. When an air conditioner was broken, it was repaired within 24h after our call! There, many off-the-beaten-track attractions are presented. For example, the beautiful (overgrown) road between Figalia and Platania, from where the drive down into the valley and the 20-minute hike to the beach are worthwhile

A beautiful, very secluded (that was important for us, holiday settlements or "neighbouring" holiday homes are not our thing) house in olive groves for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful, far from overrun by tourists area of Greece. Large, fenced garden, the car is parked directly in front of the house entrance under an arbour, on the ingenious terrace to the north of the house you can sit for hours, look into the vines and olive trees and listen to the everlasting chirping of the cicadas, far to the west you can even see the sea shimmering. The nightly (distant) barking of dogs (mentioned here by a previous tenant) did not bother us much, but is present. The inside of the house is a bit cramped in contrast to the garden, especially the tiny shower. But for a fortnight no problem, we didn't stay there forever. The German-speaking landlady and the people in the shops in the two neighbouring villages of Mirtia and Douneika are also very friendly; on your second visit you get a small gift as a nice tourist. In short, we would like to rate the house as very good because on the whole everything was as it should be.

We were there with 2 people and felt very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The only drawback was the lack of sun loungers. Maybe the landlord will consider buying them; this would increase the comfort during the stay considerably! For people who prefer to spend their holidays away from the hustle and bustle, this place is ideal, especially since it is not really far from the sea. The contact persons on site are very friendly.

We were completely satisfied. As we travel with our dogs, this was the optimal place for us. The house is clean and equipped with everything we needed. The property is huge and a paradise for our dogs. There are no neighbours, you have your peace and quiet and can relax wonderfully. The owner was very nice and welcoming. He will see us again next year.

We were there for the second time and it was once again fantastic! If you want peace and quiet and relaxation, this is the place for you! The price-performance ratio is definitely right! The landlord Hans-Walter is very friendly and helpful, you definitely need a car! It was a wonderful holiday! The beach the nature the food.... we have nothing to complain about and hope to see you again next year, Maria and Michael from Grevenbroich!

A somewhat older but still very nice cottage in a very quiet location, in a large olive grove.
Ideal for relaxing and walking. Right next to it is a large meadow where sheep graze in the evenings, which also contributes to the relaxation.
Approx. 5 minutes by car there is a small village with shopping facilities. Bakery and grocery shop. You can also eat well at the hotel "Zorbas".
The sea is about 10 to 15 minutes away by car. The very long sandy beach is almost deserted in September/October.
The German landlord is very sympathetic, easy to reach and happy to provide any information.
In autumn, don't forget mosquito spray for the evening.
