A beautiful garden with lots of flowers surrounds the buildings emphasizing the over all atmosphere of peace and quiet. The buildings are designed in the traditional Zakynthian country style with exposed beams, large private verandas and tiled roofs. Location and surroundings of object

Daphnes is a three minute walk from Porto Roma Beach, which is a lovely little beach, gently sloping and free from currents.
Above the beach, overlooking the sea is the Porto Roma Tavern and a beach bar without music.

A few minutes walk up the road there are two more local taverns.
There you will also find a well-equipped mini-market where fresh bread, fruit and vegetables are available.

Here you can also rent a car or book a Turtle safari. Next to the mini-market there is a small hotel with a pool open to all.

The local bus stop is next to the mini-market. The nearest ATM is also 1 km away. The bakery and coffee shop as well!

Vassilikos is still one of the most undeveloped areas of Zakynthos, but it is able to cater for many tastes.
Within walking distance of Daphnes and spread throughout the Vassilikos area there is a varied selection of taverns, coffee bars and restaurants which can offer both local Greek dishes and International cuisine.

Vassilikos has some of the best beaches of the island. Many are gently sloping and sandy, and well guarded from the wind which make them ideally suited for children.
Gerakas Beach, the nearest turtle beach, is 1 km or a 20 minute walk from Daphnes.

There are several ways of getting
Charter flight directly from your country to Zakynthos is sometimes the easiest and cheapest way.
Regular flight from your country to Athens is another alternative. Then you take either domestic flight or bus to get from Athens to Zakynthos.

You can also rent a car in Athens and drive to Zakynthos. It is a 3 hours drive to Killini port and 1 hour with ferry to Zakynthos.

Ferry boat from Venice, Ancona or Brindisi in Italy to Patras is the alternative for you who travel either by car or train. It takes about 20 hours with the Superfast Ferries from Venice. Then there is a further hour drive by car or bus from Patras to Killini port, from where the ferry boat takes you to Zakynthos town in 1 hour.

There are 4-6 ferry departures from Killini every day. You can reserve a place for your car in advance, which is recommended if you are travelling during high-season.
There are also direct ferries from Italy to Zakynthos.

There are daily domestic flights from Athens to Zakynthos with a journey time of 45 minutes. The one-way ticket for adult costs about 110 Euro. Half the price for children 3-12 years old.
There is also a bus service from Athens which takes you to Killini with a journey time of 4 hours and a further hour by ferry boat to Zakynthos. Total cost for a one-way ticket is about 38 Euro( bus and ferry tickets).
From St Nicholas (1 hour drive from Daphnes), at the north of Zakynthos, there is a twice daily ferry service to Keffalonia, our nearest neighbouring island.

Daphnes Villas were created by Maria Renhuldt and Dionysis Tsilimigras in 1987. They are managing Daphnes together with our now adult children Kai and Panagiotis and our staff: Anetta and Miris. Dionysis is from Athens, Greece, and Maria is from Stockholm, Sweden. After studies abroad Dionysis returned to his father's property in Vasilikos, Zakynthos and when he met Maria in 1985 they started building Daphnes villas. They are hosting guests from all over the world. They are thrilled to now welcome the grandchildren of their first guests from over 30 years ago!
