The neat property Marema is surrounded by olive groves and located above the fine sandy beach of Peroulia in a nice hillside location. The 3 holiday apartments are next to each other with a separate entrance each. The basement flats below the apartments are used by the landlord family. The estate Marema is surrounded by a beautiful enclosed garden property cultivated with banana plants, citrus trees and plenty of Mediterranean plants and flowers. The lawn in the front garden is for the shared use of all guests.
The corner apartment Marema 3 dates back to 1975 and was renovated in 2024 and equipped with new furniture. The 2 bedrooms and the bath are adjoining to the separate kitchen. From one bedroom you have direct access to the front roofed balcony where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Messenian Bay up to the opposite coast and the Taygetos Mountains. At the entrance area of the apartment there is a roofed terrace with some seating.
In a separate part of the house there is a washing machine provided for the shared use of all guests.
A small paved way leads 200mtr down the slope to the fine sandy beach of Peroulia.
The close-by picturesque village Koroni with its port scenery, taverns and cafés make a nice change from the quiet and secluded area around Peroulia. Especially charming are also the towns of Pylos and Methoni on the western side of Messenia. There are also many untouched beaches on the coastline between Koroni and Pylos.

Nice small apartment near by the Peroulia beach. Very polite host. Few restaurants, beach bars around but a car is needed. Highly recommended for relaxing family holidays.

This review corresponds to our review of Marema 2, as we occupied both apartments simultaneously at times. We were in Marema 3 with two small children and felt very comfortable. The view from the balcony is breathtaking, the beach can be reached on foot in 5 minutes (steep, but also accessible by car for people with mobility issues; at least in June, one can always find a parking spot down by the beach). The new fly screens in the bedrooms are great, and the mattresses are very comfortable; the air conditioning and fan work well. Sitting outside in the late evening hours is, as always, of course associated with mosquitoes; here you have to take care of mosquito protection yourself, that's just how it is in the south. Inside, there is no comfortable seating due to the space; you simply can't fit that into 40m2. On the back of this apartment, there is an even larger seating area (than that of Marema 2), so you can sit in the shade at any time of day. An outdoor shower is also available, so that all the sand doesn't end up in the apartment (very helpful). Of course, it can be quite warm at noon, so sometimes we ended up staying inside for 1-2 hours. To the left is another holiday apartment (Marema 2), from which you can partially hear some noise, that cannot be avoided. The cooking facilities are rather small; one should not expect to cook multi-course meals, but pasta with sauce is of course possible :) Overall, it is very quiet in the area, and at the beach, you can simply leave your sun umbrella/chairs and even sand toys etc. overnight, everyone does that there. There is rather little natural shade. The water is beautiful, nothing more needs to be said! There is a somewhat fancier restaurant reachable on foot in 10 minutes with loungers that can also be booked per day. You can also stay there very comfortably or dine in the evening. It is also child-friendly despite the rather upscale standard. With the rental car from Kalamata Airport, it took us 40 minutes to reach the next nice town, Koroni, which is accessible by car in 15 minutes (promenade, castle, monastery, beach, small souvenir shops, many restaurants). Maria, the host, lives below the holiday apartments and is great! As already described, one obviously always receives a meal cooked by her (moussaka for us) upon arrival and also again in between, and she takes care of every little problem and answers questions. Her cheerful husband is also always helpful.

Le logement est situé à proximité d'une plage magnifique et de beaux lieux de visite et de découvertes à au plus une heure de route. Les paysages alentours sont splendides. Le jardin de la propriétaire est très verdoyant cela emmène une quiétude et un dépaysement au lieu. L'accès à une terrasse aménagée et un balcon est très appréciable. Cependant, nous y étions pendant la canicule et il manquait une pièce où nous pouvions nous installer en famille au frais. En effet, le coin cuisine est minuscule et ne permet pas d'y manger. Cela sert pour de la cuisine rapide. La chambre avec deux lits individuels a un mur attenant a un autre logement locatif. L'isolation phonique est minime et on entend beaucoup les voisins. La propriétaire est très agréable. Par contre, lorsque nous échangeons via le site Airbnb nous sommes en lien avec un professionnel gérant la location. Il a pu répondre à mes questions mais pas de manière cordiale comme c'est presque toujours le cas avec les particuliers.
