For only 7.50 euros per person per night (based on full occupancy), also over Christmas and New Year, Villa Pilias is the ideal holiday accommodation for a spring stay in the Mediterranean climate. Swap expensive heating costs in Germany and bad weather for a spring holiday by the sea. Villa Pilias was completed in 2012 and has underfloor heating in case it gets cold. It is heated with inexpensive olive wood via a wood-burning stove (it has water pockets) in the living room, or an electric boiler in the basement. In addition, there is a normal air-conditioning system in the bedrooms, which can also be used for cheap heating.
The detached Villa Pilias for sole occupancy is equipped with a 42 inch full HD TV panel with satellite reception in HD, another smaller full HD TV is in one bedroom, a Blu-Ray player as well as a receiver with docking station for I-pad, I-phone etc. or USB stick and a high-quality Bluetooth speaker. A mobile WLAN router with SIM card offers unlimited internet access. Furthermore, there are folding loungers for sunbathing on the 50 sqm terrace, an awning for sun protection and a large table with six chairs for outside and even 8 chairs for the dining area inside. For in addition to the 3 bedrooms with double beds, in the kitchen-living room the L-shaped couch is a complete sofa bed . All windows are fitted with insect screens. Two complete bathrooms, one with double shower and sink. Also washing machine, dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge-freezer. The kitchen is almost fully equipped with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.
In the morning you may or may not be woken up by a crowing cock or the Greek sun in the master bedroom, if the insulated windows and the thick aluminium shutters are closed. Two cars can be parked in front of Villa Pilias and the water tap next to the front door is ideal for sanding your feet.
Those who are more sandy can enjoy the outdoor shower - with warm water, of course - on the natural stone wall between flowering bourgonvilleas. Flowering oleander bushes provide privacy from the street.
The warm water is mostly produced by the Greek sun through a powerful solar system. There is also an electric boiler.

If you are looking for a Ballermann feeling, discos, bars or dance halls, you are in the wrong place. Villa Pilias is very quietly situated in the countryside amidst olive groves on the edge of the Greek mini village (40 inhabitants) of Kamaria. It is a detached house, about 30 metres from the neighbouring house, where a quiet retired couple from Germany lives permanently
Via the dirt road (about 250 metres) and the asphalt road it is only 2.5 metres to the 3 km long dream beach Kamaria Beach (fine and coarse sand) and to the butcher's shop and supermarket. By car, you almost drive onto the beach, where nudism is common in the middle (about 300 metres from the car park). On foot, Kamaria Beach can be reached in just under 15 minutes (about 800 metres).
Taverns, which are also open in winter, can be found in Finikounda (4 km), Methoni (10 km) as well as Pylos and Koroni (20 km each). Villa Pilias is located in the middle of the EU's Natura 2000 zone, where nature conservation and strict building regulations apply. Hotel blocks and high-rise buildings are taboo here. The entire coast between Gialova and Koroni, which is about 50 km, belongs to Natura 2000.
From the terrace of Villa Pilias you have a postcard view of the mountains, the sea and the cypresses, bourgonvilleas, oleander, olive, lemon, orange and tangerine trees on the property. The main village is Methoni with numerous tavernas and a huge Venetian castle and rock tombs at the exit towards Pylos. Pylos (20 km away) is also the seat of the administration of the large municipality of Pylos-Nestoros to which Kamaria belongs. Within a radius of 15 km from Kamaria are 5 of Europe's unknown dream beaches, which invite you to go hiking in winter. The circular beach Voidikillia, according to the New York Times one of the 10 most beautiful in the world, is only 35 km away. Lampes Beach, about 5 km from Kamaria, has a very shallow sandy beach ideal for children. The crystal-clear sea water is often up to 30 degrees in August and is still more than 20 degrees even in mid-November. Day trips to: Olympia, Mycenae, Epidauros, Mani, Mistras, Nauplia or half day Nestors Palace, Koroni Monastery and Kalamata the capital of Messinia with its impressive farmers market and many churches and museums. In autumn, winter and spring there are free guided walks through the beautiful Mediterranean landscape in the Finikounda/Koroni region every Saturday. Those who want to hike alone will find a hiking guide with 17 excellently described routes at Villa Pilias. But there are also numerous museums in Pylos, Chora and Kalamata. Then you can also participate in the olive harvest and watch how probably the best olive oils in the world are produced here.

Condor and Germanwings fly from Düsseldorf and other cities to Kalamata from spring to autumn, and it's about 75 minutes by car to Villa Pilias to enjoy autumn and winter holidays with beach and sea views. Kamaria can also be reached by a flight to Athens and a good 3.5 hours by car or bus. With your own car you drive to Venice or Ancona, with the ferry to Patras and about 250 km along the west coast to Villa Pilias.
The lowest price of 42 euros per night is for 6 people in spring and winter .
Mandatory 60 euro final cleaning and 20 euro for laundry and a deposit of 150 euro to be paid on the spot.

Pure relaxation!!
Villa Pillias is situated, as described, on a slope near the village of Kamaria. A car is a must here (the roads to the villa are largely unpaved). The equipment of the house and the location correspond 100% to the description! We were able to relax wonderfully during our 14-day holiday there. Apart from the chirping of the crickets, there is nothing to hear. We can only recommend the villa!

Vicinity of the holiday home: In ca. 5 Autominuten ist die Hauptstraße zu erreichen. Zur Auswahl stehen nach links,5 Autominuten, der Ort Finikounda mit Badestrand (Sand/Kies) und einer kl.Ladenstraße mit Geschäften und Restaurants. Unser Lieblingstrand war aber Lambes Beach: auf der Hauptstraße nach rechts, ca.8 Autominuten. Ein ca. 1 Kilometer langer Sandstrand mit flachabfallenden herrlichen Wasser. Die Sonnenliegen und Sonnenschirme sind dort, wie überall in der Region, kostenfrei, man zahlt lediglich für bestellte Getränke. Leckers und günstiges Essen gibt es dort im Restaurant Destina, direkt am Strand. Auch Methoni hat uns gut gefallen: Mit der alten Burganlage im Rücken ist das Schwimmen im Meer nochmals ein besonderes Erlebnis. Einen Ausflug wert ist auf jeden Fall der Ort Pylos!Ca. 15 Autominuten von Kamaria entfernt. Malerische gelegen, mit kl. Geschäften und jede Menge Tavernen direkt am Hafen.
free time activities: Schwimmen, schwimmen und schwimmen. Surfen und schnorcheln gehen natürlich auch.
shopping facilities: Direkt an der Hauptstraße, in der Nähe der Abfahrt Kamaria gibt es einen kl. Supermarkt mit Bäckerei. Einen Minimarket findet man auch in Finikounda. In Kalamta gibt es auch Lidl.
