Description

Vacation where the film "The Odyssey" was mostly shot. For example, the giant monster in Nestor's cave above the famous circular Ox Belly Bay. And Pylos with Navarino Bay, whose city name is often mentioned in the film, is also worth seeing.
You will stay in a luxurious villa in the middle of nowhere, yet only 900 meters from a beautiful sandy beach. Here it's goodbye to expensive beach vacations! In southern Greek Messenia, most taverns offer typical Greek dishes between 1 and 16 euros. Half a liter of wine is often served for between 4 and 6 euros. Two beach loungers with a sunshade for a day are often available if you order food or drink for at least 6 euros.

And one night in Villa Pilias costs 19 euros per person at full occupancy. The detached private luxurious Villa Pilias in the southwestern Peloponnese is located in olive groves. The villa in bungalow style was completed in 2012 and has 3 double beds in 3 bedrooms and with 2 full bathrooms there is enough space for 6 people on 95 square meters.
Villa Pilias is a paradise for slowing down, because even in the high season it is often eerily quiet here, making it the ideal holiday accommodation for stressed people. Villa Pilias has underfloor heating with a cooling unit. The detached Villa Pilias for exclusive use is equipped with two 42-inch Full HD TV panels with satellite reception in HD. Another smaller Full HD television is in one bedroom, a Blu-ray player as well as a receiver with docking station for iPad, iPhone, etc., or USB stick, and a high-quality Bluetooth speaker. A mobile Wi-Fi router with SIM card provides unlimited internet access. Two televisions are connected to Amazon Prime via the internet. There are also folding loungers for sunbathing on the 50 sqm terrace, an awning for sun protection, and a large table with six chairs for outside and even 8 chairs for the dining area inside. All windows are equipped with insect screens. Two complete bathrooms are offered, one with double shower and double washbasin, washing machine and dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge-freezer combination, and air fryer. The kitchen is almost completely equipped with dishes, cutlery, and cooking utensils.
In the morning, you may be woken in the master bedroom by a crowing rooster or the Greek sun. You open your eyes and look from the bed through perhaps blooming bougainvillea at the sea. Or not, if the double-glazed windows and thick aluminum shutters are closed. In front of Villa Pilias, two cars can park and the water tap next to the front door is ideal for rinsing sand off your feet.
If you are more covered in sand, you can enjoy the outdoor shower—with warm water from the solar collector, of course—on the natural stone wall between blooming bougainvilleas. Blooming oleander bushes provide privacy from the path.
Additionally, there is an electric boiler in case of insufficient sunshine. If you are looking for Ballermann atmosphere, discos, bars, or dance halls, you are in the wrong place. Because Villa Pilias is very quietly situated in the countryside amidst olive groves on the edge of the Greek mini-village (40 inhabitants) Kamaria. In the neighboring house about 30 meters away lives a quiet German retired couple permanently.
Via the unpaved road (about 250 meters) and the asphalt road, it is only 2.5 km to the 3 km long dream beach Kamaria Beach and to the pharmacy and supermarket. You can drive almost onto the beach, where nudism is common in the middle section (about 200 meters). Kamaria Beach can be reached on foot in 15 minutes (about 900 meters). A rustic taverna is only 250 meters from Villa Pilias. From Kalamata airport, e.g. Eurowings, Condor, Discover, it is 65 km via Koroni, about 75 minutes to the villa, which still has available days in July and August.

It is a detached single house, about 30 meters from the neighboring house, where a quiet retired couple from Germany lives permanently.
Via the partially unpaved road, now partly concreted (about 250 meters), and the asphalt road, it is only 2.5 km to the 3 km long dream beach Black-Mountain-Beach (fine and coarse sand) as well as to the pharmacy and supermarket. By car, you can drive almost onto the beach, where in the middle section (about 300 meters from the parking lot) nudism is common.

Discover, Condor and Eurowings fly from Frankfurt or Düsseldorf to Kalamata from spring to autumn, and with a rental car it takes about 75 minutes to continue to Finikounda-Kamaria to Villa Pilias, to enjoy your summer, autumn or winter vacation with a view of the beach and sea. Kamaria can also be reached by a flight to Athens and a good 3.5 hours by car or bus to Kalamata.

Pure relaxation!!

Villa Pillias is situated, as described, on a slope near the village of Kamaria. A car is a must here (the roads to the villa are largely unpaved). The equipment of the house and the location correspond 100% to the description! We were able to relax wonderfully during our 14-day holiday there. Apart from the chirping of the crickets, there is nothing to hear. We can only recommend the villa!

Vicinity of the holiday home: In ca. 5 Autominuten ist die Hauptstraße zu erreichen. Zur Auswahl stehen nach links,5 Autominuten, der Ort Finikounda mit Badestrand (Sand/Kies) und einer kl.Ladenstraße mit Geschäften und Restaurants. Unser Lieblingstrand war aber Lambes Beach: auf der Hauptstraße nach rechts, ca.8 Autominuten. Ein ca. 1 Kilometer langer Sandstrand mit flachabfallenden herrlichen Wasser. Die Sonnenliegen und Sonnenschirme sind dort, wie überall in der Region, kostenfrei, man zahlt lediglich für bestellte Getränke. Leckers und günstiges Essen gibt es dort im Restaurant Destina, direkt am Strand. Auch Methoni hat uns gut gefallen: Mit der alten Burganlage im Rücken ist das Schwimmen im Meer nochmals ein besonderes Erlebnis. Einen Ausflug wert ist auf jeden Fall der Ort Pylos!Ca. 15 Autominuten von Kamaria entfernt. Malerische gelegen, mit kl. Geschäften und jede Menge Tavernen direkt am Hafen.

free time activities: Schwimmen, schwimmen und schwimmen. Surfen und schnorcheln gehen natürlich auch.

shopping facilities: Direkt an der Hauptstraße, in der Nähe der Abfahrt Kamaria gibt es einen kl. Supermarkt mit Bäckerei. Einen Minimarket findet man auch in Finikounda. In Kalamta gibt es auch Lidl.
