Description
The neat property Marema is surrounded by olive groves and located above the fine sandy beach of Peroulia in a nice hillside location. The 3 holiday apartments are next to each other with a separate entrance each. The basement flats below the apartments are used by the landlord family. The estate Marema is surrounded by a beautiful enclosed garden property cultivated with banana plants, citrus trees and plenty of Mediterranean plants and flowers. The lawn in the front garden is for the shared use of all guests.
The apartment in the middle, Marema 2 dates back to 1975 and was renovated in 2024 and equipped with new furniture. The 2 bedrooms and the bath are adjoining to the separate kitchen. From both bedrooms you have direct access to a front roofed balcony where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Messenian Bay up to the opposite coast and the Taygetos Mountains. At the entrance area of the apartment there is a roofed terrace with some seating.
In a separate part of the house there is a washing machine provided for the shared use of all guests.
A small paved way leads 200mtr down the slope to the fine sandy beach of Peroulia.
The close-by picturesque village Koroni with its port scenery, taverns and cafés make a nice change from the quiet and secluded area around Peroulia. Especially charming are also the towns of Pylos and Methoni on the western side of Messenia. There are also many untouched beaches on the coastline between Koroni and Pylos.

Frau Marias Haus war großartig. Es ist nicht anders als auf den Fotos. Es hat alles, was du brauchst, um dich in deinem Urlaub zu entspannen. Das Beste daran ist, dass es eine vordere und hintere Terrasse hat und du jederzeit draußen abhängen kannst, je nachdem, wo die Sonne ist. Die Küche ist klein, aber sie hat alles, was man braucht, um Frühstück, Snacks und sogar eine schnelle Mahlzeit zuzubereiten. Es ist wirklich ein 2-minütiger Spaziergang zu einem tollen Strand. Frau Maria war immer für alles da, was wir brauchten, aber gleichzeitig sehr diskret. Ich würde es auf jeden Fall empfehlen und bei der ersten Gelegenheit wieder besuchen!

We were with two small children in Marema 2 and felt very comfortable. The view from the balcony is breathtaking, the beach is very accessible on foot in 5 minutes (steep, but also possible by car for people with limited mobility; you can always find a parking space down by the beach, at least in June). The new fly screens in the bedrooms are great and the mattresses are very comfortable, the air conditioning and fan work well. Sitting outside in the late evening hours is, as always, naturally associated with mosquitoes; here you have to take care of mosquito protection yourself, that's just how it is in the south. Inside, due to the space, there is no comfortable seating, you simply can't fit that into 40m2. At the back of the apartment, there is a small seating area, so you can sit somewhat in the shade at any time of day. An outdoor shower is also available so that all the sand doesn't end up in the apartment (very helpful). Of course, it can be quite warm during the day, so sometimes we stayed inside for 1-2 hours. On the right and left, there is another holiday apartment, from which you can sometimes hear a bit, that can't be avoided. The cooking facilities are rather small; one shouldn't expect to cook multi-course menus, but pasta with sauce is certainly possible :) Overall, it is very quiet in the area, and at the beach, you can simply leave your umbrella/chairs and even beach items overnight; everyone does that there. There is rather little natural shade. The water is beautiful; there's not much more to say about it! There is a somewhat fancier restaurant that can be reached on foot in 10 minutes, with loungers that can also be booked per day. It is very pleasant to stay there or dine in the evening. It is also child-friendly despite the rather upscale expectations. With the rental car from Kalamata Airport, we took 40 minutes; the next nice little town, Koroni, can be reached by car in 15 minutes (promenade, castle, monastery, beach, small souvenir shops, many restaurants). Maria, the hostess, lives below the holiday apartments and is great! As already described, you obviously always receive a meal cooked by her upon arrival and also again in between (Moussaka for us), and she takes care of every little problem and answers questions. Her cheerful husband is also always helpful.

Sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber, Lage, die perfekt auf unsere Bedürfnisse nach Ruhe und Nähe zum Strand reagiert. Schönes Meer, wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und wollen so schnell wie möglich wiederkommen. Wir empfehlen, früh aufzuwachen und den Sonnenaufgang vom Balkon aus zu genießen, nicht zu verpassen!

Schöne Umgebung, hilfsbereit und einladend. Sauberes Zimmer, Räume, tolle Aussicht vom Balkon sowie vom Strand darunter, der nur 5 Gehminuten entfernt ist. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder hingehen!
