Description
This beautiful holiday home from 1897 is located in Altenau in the Oberharz region. The Okerhaus with a large garden is situated at an altitude of 500 m and borders on “the Oker.” The house has an ideal location in the lovely village of Altenau within walking distance of cafés and restaurants. Directly from the house there are many opportunities for hiking, cycling, and mountain biking.
The Okerhaus has a total of 3 double rooms, two 3-bed rooms, and 1 family room with a double bed and a children's room with 2 beds. Each room has its own bathroom with shower and toilet.
The house is suitable for max. 16 people.
On request, we provide a vegetarian breakfast (€12.50 per person) and/or a 3-course menu for €25 per person; children from 4 to 10 years pay half price.
The entire house can be rented as group accommodation for up to 16 people.
The Okerhaus has Netflix and free Wi-Fi.

The Okerhaus in the Harz Mountains
With its vast forests, steep mountains and deep valleys with wild rivers, reservoirs and cliffs, the Harz is a unique nature reserve, home to many rare plants and animals. Traditionally an ideal holiday destination, both in summer and winter, with an extensive network of hiking and cycling trails with 74 mountain bike routes and UNESCO World Heritage Sites (both industrial and medieval towns and castles).
In winter you can go skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Only 200 metres from Das Okerhaus is the "Tourist Office", where you can find all the information about the Harz Mountains and activities.
Further down the same street you will find cosy restaurants serving delicious (vegetarian) dishes , and like everywhere in the Harz at reasonable prices.

Cancellation terms:
You will be refunded half of the booking amount, minus the cancellation fee, if you cancel the booking at least 7 days before the scheduled check-in by 12 noon CET (Central European Time). For cancellations made less than 7 days before check-in, you will not receive a refund. In case of a code red in your region or ours due to COVID-19, you can cancel for free until the last minute.
