Location and surroundings of object
The holiday apartment Kerstin is located in the Geest village of Strackholt,
right in the heart of East Frisia, in the mill community of Großefehn.
The district town Aurich is about 18 km away,
the town of Wiesmoor about 7 km, and the tea town Leer 20 km.
It is about 45 minutes to the deep-sea port of Wilhelmshaven.
You can buy groceries and fresh bread rolls daily at our village shop in Strackholt.
Further shopping opportunities are available in Großefehn or Wiesmoor. The bathing lakes Ottermeer in Wiesmoor and the Timmeler Meer are about 7 minutes away.
If you want to go to the North Sea coast, about 45 minutes.
The pubs "Tinis Kroog" and "Strackholter Bahnhof 1900", as well as the "Nordseer Brauerei Stüberl" in Strackholt, are in the immediate vicinity.
The historic Geest village of Strackholt belongs to the 5-mill community of Großefehn, right in the heart of East Frisia.
Typical for our village is the beautiful hedgerow landscape. On the endlessly flat roads, you can comfortably explore Strackholt and the surrounding area by bicycle.
Along the Fehn canals, the white drawbridges, the 5 old thatched windmills,
the moors, the old churches, and meadows with black-and-white cows.
The signposted cycle paths, the Ostfriesland hiking trail, the German Fehn route,
and the Frisian Heerweg are in the immediate vicinity.
A shelter for your bicycles is available. In Strackholt you will find:
Grocery store with bakery, pizzeria and ice cream parlor, restaurant, gas station, doctor, dentist, pharmacy, hairdressers, alternative practitioner, masseur. . . .
In Strackholt there is a large Kreuzkirche from the 16th century, which can be visited daily.
Next to the church you will find a restaurant with "good German cuisine."

Vacation to relax and unwind from everyday life
Here I can unwind. Not far from the place Strackholt is Aurich, a small town with a parking garage. The market is recommended with a fish stand offering delicious fish sandwiches. There is also a tea shop that is very good. Driving to Emden to the Otto Huis is really fun. Families and others should definitely visit the seal rescue station in Norden Norddeich.
Kerstin Schoon, the landlord of the vacation rental, is very friendly and happy to give excursion tips. Her generously sized apartment with kitchen, living room, bedroom, children's room, and a bathroom with a bathtub is very well equipped. Very clean and lovingly furnished. My buddy and I have been vacationing here for years and by now we feel like family members at Kerstin's. When we were in the garden, we were allowed to pick plums, baked a cake from them, invited her mother to join us and enjoyed it with nice conversations. The well-kept garden can be used. If something is missing, just ask, everything is possible. The air here is also very good and several islands can be reached by ferry.

Very nice recommendable accommodation...
We spent our 1-week vacation here and were completely satisfied with everything.
A personal, friendly, and warm welcome from the landlady, who received us as if we had known each other for a long time.
The vacation apartment is equipped with everything you need to have a nice vacation (just as stated in the description).
From there, many excursions are possible...a very good starting point, for example, to Leer, Aurich, Emssperrwerk, Emden, Ihlow, Moormerland, Wiesmoor, Bad Zwischenahn, Papenburg, Die Meyerwerft (by appointment), etc....so much more than you can actually explore in a week....(unfortunately, we didn't get to see everything either).
Also, a nice cozy personal tea afternoon with the landlady, which we, of course, did not miss, was very nice and pleasant.
So, we have already decided, we will definitely come back...but then with our bicycles, to be able to explore the surroundings even better...
So see you soon, Mrs. Schoon, we will meet again....

Pure relaxation
Irene Schoon is a warm-hearted landlord, the apartment is located in a very quiet area, lovingly furnished with everything you have at home. The house also has a very nice garden that can be shared, we are definitely looking forward to the next vacation with you. Best regards from the Schwabenland.

Relaxing days in East Frisia!
Beautiful, very clean, spacious holiday apartment with everything you need for a relaxing holiday - the fly screens on the windows are especially great. The bedroom has comfortable mattresses and a large window that can be opened. The living kitchen is very well equipped and has a large seating area. Great bathroom with shower, bathtub, and toilet.
Large, beautiful garden maintained with lots of love, smoking area, garden hut, and above all, breakfast eggs from happy chickens.
Absolutely central starting point for many activities.
A landlady like you could only wish for!!!!!!!!!
