The apartment Casa Africa is located in a quiet part above Ferragudo in the Algarve near an old mill. The apartment is on the 2nd floor and is tastefully and functionally furnished. It has 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor and another bedroom on the top floor. From the living room you reach a spacious balcony. From the roof terrace (equipped with barbecue and sun beds) you have a very nice view of the Atlantic Ocean, the Monchique Mountains and the Arade River. To the beach "Praia Grande" you need about 10 minutes walking and to the market place of Ferragudos about 5 minutes. A parking lot is located at the house. Pets are only allowed on request. The apartment is also suitable for the winter months.

Location and surroundings of object
The property is quietly located on the outskirts of Ferragudo in a new development area. The apartment is very generously cut and equipped with high quality furniture. We recommend our guests to rent a car, as the Algarve as a whole is very worth seeing. Of course we are happy to help with the mediation. The fishing village Ferragudo is one of the most contemplative and inexpensive places in the Algarve. The maze of narrow alleys and winding stairs gives a genuine, unadulterated impression of Portuguese mentality. In front of the whitewashed houses decorated with flowers, women often still wash their clothes, and at lunchtime sardines are grilled. In the "Aunt Emma shops" (mini-mercados) the shopping is done. The people are always friendly and helpful
In the market hall you can buy fresh fish, seafood and fruit every day. For bulk shopping there is a Lidl supermarket at the entrance to the village. Especially worth seeing is the small church in the upper part of the village. One has a wide view over the harbour entrance of Portimão and to the Atlantic Ocean. Here you will not find sterile concrete blocks or impersonal hotel complexes, but luxurious villas, houses, cosy apartments and excellent holiday resorts
The market place is the meeting point for locals and visitors. There are cozy cafes, small pubs and bars with beer gardens, young people are also in good hands here. Here you will also find the post office, a bank and a wide range of different restaurants, from typical Portuguese to international cuisine, as well as pizzerias and chicken fryers. Every weekend in summer there is a Portuguese festival that reminds of a big family celebration, and the monthly flea market is also worthwhile
The guests of the "APPARTMENT AFRICA" are taken care of by the "Service-Office-BEROLI" on site.

The beaches of Ferragudo
In the estuary of the Rio Arade is the extensive, fine sandy beach PRAIA GRANDE, which is separated from the open sea by the pier. Further on you will reach the PRAIA DO MOLHE and PRAIA DA PINTADINHO. The most beautiful beach is the PRAIA DOS CANEIROS. There you will find the pronounced rocky coves that are so typical of this coast. All beaches have various beach bars. Not to be forgotten are the impressive cliff walks along the coast, which should be done early in the morning if possible.
In our service office on site you can inform yourself about a wide range of events and leisure activities such as diving, golf, tennis, fishing, sailing, canoeing, big game fishing, various aquaparks, zoo, trips to Lisbon and Seville, concerts, exhibitions etc. We can arrange tickets on request.
