Maison Mimosa is an ideal place to spend your vacation with its typical and charming character and large garden. Located in the middle of the forests of Les Landes, at the foot of the dunes, near the ocean. In the evenings you can clearly hear the surf. Even in the hottest summers you will find in Mimizan the coolness of the seawater and the fresh west wind.
Directly in front of the house lies the golf course of Mimizan, 250 m. Behind the house lies the Lake of Aureilhan, which you can easily reach via a footpath through the forest or by bicycle or car.
The origin of the house dates back to 1910. The Duke of Westminster, a member of the English royal family, built the Château Woolsack, surrounded by houses for the staff and stables for horses on a large estate by the Lake of Aureilhan. Château Woolsack is only 500 m from the house. Everything was built in the typical neo-South African architectural style. The colors black and white were chosen by Coco Chanel, the Duke’s girlfriend at the time.
In the seventies, the former stables were converted into individual houses, which are completely separate homes with their own entrances: Maison Mimosa, Maison Camélia, and Maison Duchesse behind them. The interior is comfortable and well-equipped, pleasantly furnished and decorated, and offers space for 6 people in 2 bedrooms for 2 and 4 people.
It includes a living/dining room with a modern and well-equipped kitchen and a shower room with toilet. The floor area is 60 m².
In front of the house, a terrace with garden furniture and a fixed barbecue in a large garden, well maintained and fully fenced, divided into 2 halves for Maison Camélia and the semi-detached house Mimosa. Bed linen is not included in the rental price, but can be provided for an additional fee.
A maximum of 2 medium-sized dogs are welcome, 1 dog (or cat) is included in the rental price.
For the 2nd pet, you pay a small surcharge.
Only in the high season (July and August) is the minimum rental period 7 days, with arrival and departure on Saturday. In the low and shoulder seasons, short-term rentals of at least 4 nights, as well as arrival and departure on any day of the week, are possible.
For the cooler seasons, the house is equipped with electric heaters in all rooms.
Maison Mimosa has received the maximum 3-star rating from the Mimizan Tourist Office (Office Intercommunal de Tourisme).

Peace and quiet around the house, the sea, lake and forest nearby, and many opportunities for various sports activities:
In front of the house is the golf course of Mimizan, the entrance only 200m from the house.
A round of golf or practice on the driving range are offered at reasonable rates.
Rowing, sailing, and fishing are possible on Lake Aureilhan, just 250m behind the house, hiking in the forest or along the very beautiful promenade "Route Fleurie" by the lake. A bike path in front of the house leads to the beach in Mimizan-Plage and other villages in the area. Most guests bring bicycles, but they can also be rented in several shops.
An “Adventure Park” with zipline and mini-golf is only 200m away from the house, along the path near the entrance to the golf course.
The beaches of Mimizan-Plage are very close: 5 km by car or 4 km by bicycle. Mimizan-Plage, with its kilometers of white beaches, is a pretty and popular seaside resort: lying in the sun on the beach, swimming in the clear blue sea water, or surfing in the waves of the ocean. Especially in summer, Mimizan-Plage is very lively with its pretty beach promenade, its terraces, restaurants and cafés, and the marketplace where musical and cultural activities are organized every day. The center of Mimizan-Bourg is 2 km away. Here you will find all services, supermarkets, shops, medical center, and the market on Friday morning.
For vacationers seeking a quieter atmosphere, we recommend the sunny pre- and post-season and especially September / October for the beautiful autumn colors, when the sea and land temperatures are still very pleasant.
Day trips are recommended to the seaside at Biarritz, Bayonne, St. Jean de Luz, the beautiful mountain region of the Pyrenees, San Sebastian in Spain, the Basque Country, and of course the wine regions near Bordeaux, St. Emilion, and Armagnac.

For questions about a different minimum stay, arrival and departure days, pets, or other information, please contact the owner. If the desired rental period of 2 or more weeks is not available, you can also rent one week in this house and the remaining time in the house next door. We will be happy to make you a suitable offer.
A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed. 1 dog (or cat) is included in the rental price. The fee for a 2nd dog is €5 per day. Bed linen and towels are not included in the rental price, but can be rented for an additional fee of €20 per person.
A cot and high chair are available.
Our apartments have also been listed for more than 15 years on other rental websites (e.g. HomeAway and Abritel). Since then, we have had many visitors from many different countries who have given us very good, 5-star reviews.

A beautiful little house in a beautiful setting
We had a great time as a small family at Maison Mimosa. The holiday home is very well equipped and cozy, and the location is fantastic. We were warmly welcomed and very well taken care of! Thank you to our hosts, we would love to come back!

The holiday home in Mimizan is very beautiful and lovingly furnished. Everything is available that you need for a successful vacation. It was all very clean, and what we personally appreciated was that there was plenty of dishes so that the dishwasher could be used properly. There were enough dishwasher tablets, cleaning supplies, trash bags, etc.
You are allowed to bring a dog for free. There is a large fenced garden. We felt very comfortable there. The house is located in a beautiful setting, you can take wonderful walks by the lake, the flower path, which can be reached in 10 minutes, is dreamy. There are well-developed bike paths. In Mimizan Plage or in the surrounding area, there are huge wide sandy beaches by the Atlantic. We had a nice holiday, were warmly welcomed and bid farewell. Thank you very much.

Wonderful!
We spent a wonderful week at the Mimosa holiday home. The accommodation was very tastefully and comfortably furnished. The kitchen equipment was absolutely perfect, nothing was missing. The surroundings are very quiet, perfect if you just want to relax. There were also enough shopping opportunities within a few kilometers. The landlords were extremely nice, helpful and charming. The day before departure, we even had a glass of beer together. The beaches in the area are simply fantastic, you always find a free, quiet spot and it was no problem to take our dog to the beach. Just great. We will definitely come back.
