Maison Camélia is a charming and pleasantly furnished house for up to 6 people, 3 stars from the Departmental Tourism Board.
The house is situated 2 km from the centre of Mimizan-Bourg in a quiet and green atmosphere surrounded by Landes woods with a magnificent view of the Gulf of Mimizan and the dunes of the Atlantic coast.
With its typical character, charming and comfortable interior and large garden, the house is an ideal place to spend your holiday: Quiet around the house, the sea, the lake and the forest nearby and many opportunities for sports nearby such as golf, rowing, sailing, fishing, cycling, hiking, surfing, etc

To play golf, the golf course of Mimizan is located in front of the house. The entrance to the course is 100 m. The prices for the course (9 or 18 holes), the courses of a professional and the driving range are very reasonable.
The Base Nautique 300 m. behind the house on the edge of Lac du Aureilhan offers opportunities for sailing, rowing or canoeing.
For fishermen: The lake has a good reputation for carp fishing; in some areas you can swim in the clear waters of the lake and recommend a walk along the beautiful Fleurie route.
Cycling: A beautiful cycle path along the road leads past the house
On this way through the dunes you can cycle to the beaches of Mimizan-Plage or to other villages of the region
The origin of the house Mimosa dates back to 1910.
The Duke of Westminster, near the English royal family, built the Castle Woolsack surrounded houses for staff and stables for horses, on a large estate in Mimizan along Lake Aureilhan. All built in typical South African architectural style.
Camellia House is a part of the old stables of the castle
In the eighties of the last century, the stables of the time were transformed into individual houses that retained their original character
The interior of the houses has since been modernized; the house is very comfortable, well equipped and pleasantly furnished and decorated.
It measures 60 m² and offers space for 6 persons in 2 rooms for 2 and 4 persons.
It contains a living / dining room with modern and well equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower and toilet.
In front of the house a terrace with garden furniture and fixed barbecue in a large garden, well maintained and fully fenced, divided into 2 parts for house Mimosa and the semi-detached house Camelia.
Bed linen can be provided for an additional fee
Pets are welcome, 1 pet is included in the rental price. For further animals an addition can be requested
In the high season (July and August) the minimum rental period is one week, with arrival and departure on Saturday.
In the pre- and post-season short-term rentals as well as arrival and departure on another weekday are possible.
Heating: The house is equipped with electric radiators in all rooms. An additional price may be charged for cold consumption charges.
The beaches of the ocean are 5 km away at Mimizan-Plage. by car or 4 km. by bike
Mimizan-Plage is a popular seaside resort with its beautiful white beaches and the clear blue waters of the ocean. In summer the village is very lively and offers daily musical and cultural activities.
In the centre of Mimizan-Bourg you will find all services, shops and the market on Friday morning.
The pre- and post-season is much quieter, but more popular, especially in September/October, when sea and ground temperatures are still warm.
Day trips to the region are recommended: the Pyrenees, the Basque Country and Biarritz, the Bordelaise region and the Armagnac region.

Holiday home
The cottage has a very large garden, which is ideal with dogs. By bike you can reach the beach through a wonderful bike path . A road runs past the house, but after a few days it was no longer a nuisance because the garden is very large. The garden is shared with the neighbour, but the terrace is well separated. The house is well equipped and the proximity to the lake is fantastic. We felt very comfortable and would come back again!

From Swann's World
Elegant beach cottage in cool Coco-Chanel design in Charlie Chaplin's former horse stable. In the afternoons, the landlord comes by like a character from Swann's world from the golf course across the street and tells stories of Coco, Charlie or Rudyard Kipling, the Jungle Book author, after whose African model the nearby hunting lodge was built postcolonially, to which you stroll comfortably. Don't forget your golf clubs!
