Description

If you would like to enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Cretan house in a lovely Cretan village, then a stay at Afroditi House is the ideal choice for your holiday.

A fine balance between the old and the new is maintained to provide maximum comfort and a unique atmosphere. Here you can enjoy a wonderful vacation in a beautiful setting, combining modern comfort with tradition. Sun, sea, beach, and culture can be perfectly combined.

Afroditi Cretan House is situated in the village of Gianniou, between Plakias and Preveli Monastery.

The house consists of three floors.

The ground floor is the oldest part of the house, dating back to the 18th century. It has been renovated into a modern open-plan kitchen/living room area, while a few historical architectural elements were preserved and incorporated into the modern layout. The kitchen is modern, featuring a large dining table for 8 persons and a small winery. The furniture throughout the house is designed in a rustic style.

The kitchen is fully equipped, including an oven, refrigerator, extractor fan (digester), juicer, toaster, dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave oven, and a kettle.

On the opposite side of the ground floor is a cozy living room, separated by a historical arch from the rest of the space.

The living room has a modern flat-screen Satellite TV and a fireplace. There is a comfortable sofa, which can become an extra double bed if necessary. The ground floor also includes a modern bathroom with a shower/toilet and a washing machine.

An iron and wooden staircase leads from the ground floor to the first floor. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms with wooden floors and ceilings, and the master bathroom. The master bedroom has a king-size double bed, a large wardrobe, and a beautiful view over the valley and hills stretching below the village.

There is also a door leading from the master bedroom out to the terrace. The second bedroom consists of two single beds. The master bathroom is located between the two bedrooms and features a Jacuzzi.

Another internal iron-wooden stairway leads from the first floor to the attic.

There, you will find a spacious, newly-built room with three windows offering beautiful views of the surroundings; this is the third bedroom of the house, featuring one king-size double bed and one single bed.

The house has a terrace covered by a wooden pergola, which is accessible either from the master bedroom or via external stairs.

The house is also suitable for winter stays, as it features both a fireplace and central heating.
It is located at an excellent starting point for many interesting walking tours.

You can enjoy a 45-minute walk over a hill to the Preveli Monastery, to Preveli Palm Beach, or explore plenty of other treks along the aqueducts and fields surrounding the village.

The nearest supermarket and taverns can be found in the village of Lefkogia, which is approximately 1 km away. The nearest beach is Skinaria, about 3.5 km away.

The house is also located at an excellent starting point to many interesting walking tours around. You can enjoy a walk of about 45 min over a hill to the Preveli monastery, to Preveli palm beach or plenty of other treks along the aqueducts and fields surrounding the village. The nearest supermarket and taverns you will find in the village of Lefkogia, which is ca 1,5 km away from our house. The nearest beach is the famous Preveli Palm beach 3,5 Km beach and the beach of Skinaria, ca 4,5 km away
