Description
The Villa Hellas (build in1996) has been renovated 2019 with much love and is completely renewed.
In advance, the former home was completely refurbished. The walls were plastered outside and inside again and partially offset, pipes were renewed, new tile floor (in wood look) laid and new windows used. All this was built according to modern and ecological standards.
Of course, the entire furniture is new.
Also in the very large bathroom we put a lot of love. An extra pump is connected to the rain shower which can be switched on to have the necessary pressure (which is not usual in the region otherwise). The toilet is designed according to European standards for toilet paper disposal (rare luxury in the region).
The hot water supply works via solar and it is planned for 2021 to be able to operate the remaining power supply also via the solar system.
The open kitchen is fully equipped with the most modern appliances. At the dining table six people find enough space.
The very large living room has panoramic windows and so you have an unobstructed view of the Libyan Sea.
The entire house has been well insulated to keep it cool in summer and dry and warm in winter. Since it can be a bit too hot in the summer months, we have provided in the bedrooms for air conditioning. Since on the small hill but usually a small breeze blows and the house also does not heat up much, they will certainly not need this very often.
The balcony door leads to a large terrace with table and chairs from which you have a panoramic view over the village and the sea.
From there a stone staircase leads to the garden and to the pool (from 2020, pictures follow). For ecological reasons, we have waived a very large pool, but 3m x are sufficient for refreshment, especially since the sea is so close (about 700 meters). This can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot or in about 2 minutes by car.
The garden around the house has been created with various stones by ourselves. In between we can find bushes, palms and cactuses planted by us. There are several seats and tables around the house, so you will find a shady spot at any time of the day. At night, the garden is illuminated by solar lights, where you can comfortably end the day.

Location and surroundings of object
The house is slightly elevated on a hill above the small, traditional village Pitsidia. The center is about 5 minutes walk. There you will find smaller shops, taverns and a pharmacy.
The surrounding villages are Kamilari, Kalamaki, Sivas and Matala. Only the place Matala, which became famous for its caves, is a bit touristy. There are numerous beach cafes and bars and a small bazaar. Here you can have fun until late at night and then return to the quiet Pitsidia.
Larger shops (like a Lidl), doctors and a small hospital can be found in Mires (about 9km, car: 15min away)

Beautiful holiday home- perfect
A great house with large living/kitchen area and three bedrooms. Large terrace with sea view and nice pool. Everything is lovingly furnished and nothing is missing. There are enough wardrobes with hangers and also in the bathroom there is a lot of storage space and hooks on the wall (I have often missed this). The location is great: off the beaten track but still right in town. The landlords are very nice and helpful. A dream!

Sommerurlaub Villa Hellas
Wir hatten zwei wunderschöne Wochen im Süden von Kreta und die Villa hatte einen großen Anteil daran. Sie liegt relativ abgelegen an einem Hang mit tollem Blick aufs Meer, weshalb es sich auf der schönen Terrasse bei schöner Atmosphäre ausgiebig Speisen und Relaxen lässt. Auch die Ausstattung der Villa, die Sauberkeit und Größe der Räume sowie der Kontakt zur deutschsprachigen Vermietung war tadellos. Auch der Pool ist ausreichend groß, falls man mal einen entspannten Tag dort einlegen möchte.
Pitsidia selbst bietet genügend Möglichkeiten Lebensmittel etc. einzukaufen (erwähnt sei der nette Tante-Emma-Laden von Eva an der Hauptstraße), abends fuhren wir hingegen zum Essen gehen immer nach Matala, da es dort schlicht die besseren Restaurants gibt. Der Weg dorthin dauert mit dem Auto etwa fünf Minuten. Auch der Weg zum Komos Beach ist mit dem Auto bequem zu erreichen. Alles in allem eine tolle Villa in schöner Umgebung mit einem fairen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen!

Eine traumhaft schöne Villa - besser als auf den Fotos.
Samira und Nikos sind sehr herzliche Vermieter und waren immer erreichbar (finden wir sehr wichtig), falls es Fragen gab.
Das Haus ist neu renoviert, sehr sauber und mit allem ausgerüstet. In der Küche fanden wir mehr Utensilien als in unserer eigenen :)
Das Bad ist super geräumig, die Regendusche ist toll, die Schlafzimmer ebenso geräumig und die Matratzen 1a (sehr selten).
Klima ist vorhanden, haben wir aber kaum gebraucht - haben Nachts alle Fenster geöffnet, das war dank der Mückengitter kein Problem.
Das Highlight ist aber sicherlich die Lage. Auf der Terrasse überblickt man die ganze Umgebung bis zum Meer. Wir haben unvergessliche Stunden dort verbracht und kommen sicher wieder!!!
