Description
We lovingly renovated and completely refurbished Villa Hellas (built in 1996) in 2019.
In doing so, we paid particular attention to quality and ecological standards. Of course, amenities were also important to us, such as:
- The very spacious bathroom features a rain shower to which an extra pump is connected, ensuring it has the necessary pressure (which is otherwise not common in the region). - The toilet is designed according to German standards for toilet paper disposal as well (a rare luxury in the region).
- In all rooms, as well as in the outdoor area, you have free Wi-Fi reception.
- New: Since 2023, the entire power supply runs on solar!
We have designed the interior to be modern, bright, and comfortable.
The open kitchen is fully equipped with the latest appliances. The dining table offers ample space for six people. The very large living room has panoramic windows, giving you an unobstructed view of the Libyan Sea.
The entire house has been especially well insulated so that it stays cool in the summer and dry and warm in the winter. Since it can still get a bit too hot during the summer months, we have provided air conditioning in the bedrooms. You can use these—with no guilty conscience at all—since the electricity is generated by the solar system. Since there is usually a gentle breeze on the small hill and the house does not heat up much, you will probably not need them very often.
The balcony door leads you to a large terrace with a table and chairs, from which you have a panoramic view over the village and to the sea.
From there, a stone staircase leads into the garden and to the pool, which is surrounded by non-slip wooden panels. For ecological reasons, we have forgone a very large pool, but 3m x 4.70m is sufficient for refreshing yourself, especially since the sea is so close (approx. 700 meters). You can reach it in 20 minutes on foot or in about 2 minutes by car.
The garden around the house has been landscaped by ourselves with various stones. In between, you will find bushes, roses, palms, and cacti planted by us. There are several seats and tables around the house, so you can find a shady spot at any time of day. At night, the garden is illuminated by solar lights, where you can comfortably end your day.

Location and surroundings of object
The house is slightly elevated on a hill above the small, traditional village Pitsidia. The center is about 5 minutes walk. There you will find smaller shops, taverns and a pharmacy.
The surrounding villages are Kamilari, Kalamaki, Sivas and Matala. Only the place Matala, which became famous for its caves, is a bit touristy. There are numerous beach cafes and bars and a small bazaar. Here you can have fun until late at night and then return to the quiet Pitsidia.
Larger shops (like a Lidl), doctors and a small hospital can be found in Mires (about 9km, car: 15min away)

Free cancellation possible up to 60 days before the arrival date.
For a reservation, we require 25% of the total booking price. Cancellations made up to 60 days before arrival are free of charge, and the deposit will be refunded. Cancellations made up to 30 days before arrival are possible, but the deposit is non-refundable. Less than 30 days before arrival, free cancellation is only possible on a goodwill basis, i.e., if we can rebook the period. We ask for your understanding and point out that there are very affordable travel cancellation insurances that can cover such cases. Thank you.

Just a perfect vacation
The villa has a dream location - hard to beat. Views of the sea, the village, and the Psiloritis mountain. Due to its secluded location, you can enjoy privacy, yet you can walk to the village in just 5 minutes where you can find everything you need. The facilities are exceptionally good, modernly furnished, and very clean. The owners are very nice and helpful... always available in case you have any questions.

Beautiful holiday home- perfect
A great house with large living/kitchen area and three bedrooms. Large terrace with sea view and nice pool. Everything is lovingly furnished and nothing is missing. There are enough wardrobes with hangers and also in the bathroom there is a lot of storage space and hooks on the wall (I have often missed this). The location is great: off the beaten track but still right in town. The landlords are very nice and helpful. A dream!

Summer vacation Villa Hellas
We had two wonderful weeks in the south of Crete and the villa played a big part in that. It is relatively secluded on a hill with a great view of the sea, making it a perfect place to enjoy meals and relax on the beautiful terrace. The villa's amenities, cleanliness, and size of the rooms, as well as the contact with the German-speaking rental company, were impeccable. The pool is also large enough for a relaxing day by the water. Pitsidia itself offers plenty of opportunities to buy groceries, etc. (mentioning the nice mom-and-pop store of Eva on the main street), in the evenings, however, we always drove to Matala for dining out as there are simply better restaurants there. The drive takes about five minutes by car. The way to Komos Beach is also easily accessible by car. All in all, a great villa in a beautiful setting with a fair price-performance ratio. We really enjoyed our time there!
