We spent three wonderful weeks in the log cabin of Miriam and Christoph. The equipment of the house is very good. There are various hiking suggestions that were developed by the Schenk family. Whenever we had questions, we were helped. The arrival suggestions also helped us to find the log cabin without any problems. Those looking for solitude will find it here. One should be clear about the distances to individual sights, but I think anyone who chooses a vacation in Jämtland knows what they are getting into. For us, the three-week vacation in the log cabin was incredibly beautiful. When we returned to the house after a day of hiking, we felt at home. We will definitely go back there one day.

Komfortables Blockhaus in unberührter Natur

In December 2015, we spent a two-week winter holiday in this log cabin. The log cabin immediately met our expectations. It is tastefully and comfortably furnished. All bedrooms, kitchen, sauna, and living room are absolutely inviting. Upon arrival, the log cabin was pleasantly preheated by the fireplace. The integrated underfloor heating also provides a comfortable warmth. The log cabin is located secluded in untouched nature. If you want to experience nature, you'll find it here. We did a guided snowshoe hike with the host and were led to the nearest mountain, the Predikstolen. Here, you can enjoy a magnificent view over large parts of the surrounding Jämtland. The hosts are very pleasant and offer many other services and information. We gladly took advantage of the daily service with homemade bread rolls. We were able to witness the impressive Northern Lights on site. For someone who does not see this every day, it is a first-class natural spectacle. Even the sparkling starry sky without the Aurora Borealis is captivating. There were more shooting stars than wishes. After winter activities, the fireplace in the log cabin provided pleasant warmth in the evenings. The sauna in the log cabin often invited us to take a little "wellness treatment." The cooling took place naturally in the snow. Sweden's largest waterfall can be visited a little further away. Roaring water masses with ice stalactites are an impressive sight. The inviting cafe in Börtnan, 11 km away, was really great at Christmas time.

There is much more to tell here, but to sum it up; booking your vacation here is not a mistake.

Vacation in endless nature.

Those seeking relaxation in seemingly endless nature will do well to book a vacation here. Depending on the season, one can unwind in different ways or actively seek relaxation.
We are hiking enthusiasts and lovers of the barren fjälls, but the many waterfalls in the area were also worth a visit.
Our cabin was very well thought out and generously furnished, and we were very comfortable.

Super relaxing vacation!

We had a wonderful time with Miriam and Christoph.

Miriam and Christoph are great hosts - we could order homemade rolls from Miriam every morning and Christoph provided us with GPS data for our hikes. In addition, they organized a dogsledding trip for us, which was a real highlight. Since we were there over Christmas, we even received a Christmas tree and decorations - that was great. The log cabins are very well furnished and cozy. The surroundings are beautiful and perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing.

I can only recommend a stay with Miriam and Christoph.

Family Adventure in Sweden

It had been decided for a while that we wanted to go to Sweden. Originally, we planned to travel to Southern Sweden. Due to the pictures we saw on the internet, we spontaneously decided to change our plans and drove 1900km with our children (7 & 4 years) by car to this dream landscape.
We quickly found our way to our holiday home. Our hosts warmly welcomed us and showed us everything and explained. A folder with excursion destinations and hiking routes was ready. The holiday home had enough space for the whole family, everything was very clean and functional. Our children had their own room. We didn't use the onsite sauna and the fireplace in the living room (unfortunately), as it was too warm! We had fantastic weather and were out and about a lot; hiking, visited the waterfalls, the Hoverberggrotte, the moose park, the Waffle Alm, and so much more. We rented a rowboat for a day, went fishing almost daily, and spent every day in nature. The Swedes are very kind and helpful. It was a unique experience for our children and us! In the afternoons, we often ate together in the barbecue hut or by the campfire and ended the evening. During our stay, it did not really get dark at night, so we often sat outside until 1 am and enjoyed the incredible silence. We saw many reindeer, eagles, and even wild moose!

Thanks to our host family, we were able to experience so many great things. They supported us with all our questions and found addresses, opening hours... Simply wonderful! Thank you very much!

We are already planning our next vacation, this time in the winter with hopefully a lot of snow!

Winter dream in Jämtland/Sweden

Snow as far as the eye can see, blue sky, crisp frost, and a cozy, warm log cabin – that's how we envisioned our winter vacation. We found it at Galå-Fjällgård. Step out the front door onto perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails or venture into untouched snow with snowshoes. In the evening, you can relax in the sauna (Thor log cabin), the wood-fired hot tub, or the grill hut, where you may encounter other guests. Always approachable and helpful hosts rounded off the picture of the dream winter. In 2013, it was our sixth winter at Galå-Fjällgård, and in 2014, we will go there again.

Fantastic log cabin holiday in Jämtland/Sweden.

Living the dream - this is exactly the right place for it. We spent one week as a family in early February with lots of snow in a dreamlike setting in one of the beautiful log cabins. We were able to go on dreamy tours both on snowshoes and cross-country skis. The highlights were definitely the scooter tours (including ice fishing) with Christoph, the "host", and the dog sledding near Östersund. A dream vacation - we will be back!

shopping facilities: Wir hatten alles mit, was wir brauchten- ansonsten muss man einen der kostbaren "Outdoortage" zum Einkaufen verwenden- die nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeit ist ca 30 km entfernt

Vicinity of the holiday home: Die sehr gut ausgestatteten Blockhäuser liegen wunderbar ruhig mitten in der schwedischen Wildnis. Sehr gepflegte Anlage mit freundlichen Besitzern.

free time activities: In der näheren Umgebung laden viele Wege zu Spaziergängen oder Wanderungen in die unberührte Natur ein. Mit dem Auto lässt sich die nähere und weiter entfernte Umgebung gut erkunden.

shopping facilities: Per Auto lässt sich Einkaufen gut mit den Ausflügen verbinden.
