After Pino a nature lover and doctor has bought a part of this area (approx. 4000 sqm) and completely restored the main house. What has remained is a part of the natural paradise, a small garden pond, many beautiful trees and shrubs, a barbecue
The completely newly equipped upper floor of the villa (approx. 70 sqm) is rented for up to 4+2 persons: separate outside staircase, small entrance veranda, living-dining room with satellite TV, double sofa bed, kitchenette (4-burner gas stove, fridge/freezer combination), large panoramic terrace with wide views over the village to the sea and the Aeolian islands, 2 bedrooms and bathroom (shower cabin). The equipment is new and very good, German coffee machine, wlan, the washing machine is in an outbuilding, parking space.
Guests can enjoy the organic vegetable garden and fruit trees; many romantic corners offer relaxation in the shade of large trees. On request, the owner can also organise boat trips or provide bicycles.

Location and surroundings of object
The villa in the former botanical garden is situated above the small village of S. Domenica. A private road also leads directly to the village, so that you can easily reach the restaurants and shops on foot. The small quiet place offers good bars and restaurants, ideal for going out in the evening without a car or sitting together in a bar with a glass of wine or a cocktail.
The beautiful beaches at S. Domenica, for example Baia di Riaci or Formicoli with fine sandy beach, are only 850-1900 m away. Tropea about km, Capo Vaticano about 6 km.
Capo Vaticano offers some beautiful sandy bays, the most famous being Grotticelle and Praia di Fuoco
Tropea has some beautiful long sandy beaches, some free, some with beach facilities. Tropea is also the tourist centre of the area, from here boats go to the Eastern islands, during the season island tours are offered as day trips.

Coast between Coccorino and Nicotera: Between Coccorino and Joppolo on a few kilometres of spectacular rocky and cliffy coastline, some tiny bays can be reached by boat.
Joppolo lies like a shell in a fertile bay that stretches up the mountain slope. The promenade extends from a pine forest to a massive Saracen tower. The beach consists of rock, stone and gravel, in some places sand is piled up in summer.
At the end of a vast mountainous stretch of coast, the ancient town of Nicotera, with its romantic alleys and squares, towers over the deep green plain of Nicotera Marina, whose wide and sandy beach (with individual beach facilities) stretches out in front of the promenade.
Tonicello and Tono: sandband in the direction of Tropea, not overcrowded even in midsummer, reachable by single narrow streets; single bars and residences, in between rocky sections. Here are Residence Cala di Volpe, Villaggio Il Gabbiano, Hotel La Conchiglia and Villaggio Athragon.
Award for coastal and water quality (sails) and tourist infrastructures (petals) by the environmental organisation Lega Ambiente 2006 : 4 sails and 5 petals for Tropea ( out of 100 possible points) and Pizzo (85 possible points), giving Tropea the best rating in Calabria and one of the best in Italy!
The beaches around Tropea have received this highest possible award for the 5th time in a row and are among the most beautiful and cleanest in Italy!

great atmosphere, super hosts
We felt very comfortable with Antonio. He is an attentive host. The view from the terrace is unbeatable, the garden wonderful. And the animals (dogs and cats) also delighted us. Very nice here!

Pure hospitality
We were Antonio's guests for 8 days in his very well equipped villa in the former botanical garden. What can we say: at least 5 stars for the furnishings (German bathroom with shower cubicle), the cleanliness, the location above the village, the peace and quiet, the panoramic view of the sea and Stromboli, the sunsets that you can enjoy from the terrace. There is a washing machine in an adjoining house and free internet.
Also worth mentioning is the large garden with pond (and animals), which can be used completely. Organic vegetables and fruit from the trees can be easily picked up
In the immediate vicinity (village of Santa Domenica di Ricadi) you will find everything: from the best butcher, fresh chicken, supermarkets, weekly market, restaurants, gym, train station. Also 3km to Tropea and the beaches Fromicoli and Baia di Ricadi (both super nice) directly in Santa Domenica.
Not to be outdone, however, is the hospitality and warmth of the host. If you want peace and quiet, you'll get it here too, of course, but you'll be out of place. If you allow it, you will be completely integrated into Calabrian life and experience a hospitality that is second to none. In addition, you get great tips for excursions, beaches, etc.
We felt very safe here.
