We rent out our lovingly renovated little house (80 sqm) in the old town of Marktheidenfeld, just a few steps from the Main, as a holiday apartment or accommodation for fitters, trainee teachers, or anyone looking for a temporary place to stay. Unfortunately, long-term rental is not possible.
On the ground floor, there is a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, and a large bathroom available. On the upper floor, which is accessible via a rather steep staircase, there are three living/bedrooms. For the exact furnishings of the rooms see below, floor plan see photo. The living room and the rooms on the upper floor have wooden floors.
Bicycles or strollers can be safely stored in the former workshop located in front of the house. A terrace adjoining the living room, which leads to the rear area, offers an ideal place to relax during the warm months. Since smoking is not allowed in the house, smokers have the option to smoke in the courtyard or on the terrace.
We are also happy to welcome families with children. For small children, a crib, high chair, and plenty of toys are available. A safety gate ensures security at the stairs. Since I am repeatedly asked what guests should bring – we provide almost everything needed for a stay: bed linen, towels, dish towels, dish soap and tabs, soap, slippers for adults, a small selection of spices and tea, etc.
Furnishings of the rooms on the ground floor:
Living room with (sofa) bed, 2 wicker chairs, coffee table with 4 integrated stools, wall unit, and large flatscreen on the wall. Kitchen with electric stove (ceramic hob with 4 cooking zones, oven), fridge-freezer combination, sink, dishwasher, microwave, dining table, cupboards with a large selection of dishes, glasses, pots, etc., toaster, electric kettle, coffee machine.
Bathroom with shower, bathtub, washbasin and (family) toilet with built-in child seat as well as a washing machine. Towels and hairdryer are provided.
Furnishings of the rooms on the upper floor:
Bedroom with large double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, travel cot for children. Living-sleeping room with single bed, 2 bedside tables, clothes rail, chest of drawers, and television (walk-through room)
Bedroom/children’s room with bed 140x200, bedside table, desk, table with 2 chairs, shelf.
Anyone wishing to stay with us should note that in the historic part of the building, the door heights are only between 170 and 180 cm. Taller people will always need to duck here. The ceiling height is normal, however. In addition, the staircase to the upper floor is quite steep. Therefore, the cottage is generally unfortunately not suitable for people with physical limitations. However, it is also possible for 2 people to sleep on the comfortable couch in the living room if one wishes to avoid the stairs to the upper floor.
Since the alley in which our house is located, like all Main alleys, is very narrow, only cars can drive in here and parking is not allowed (stopping for loading and unloading the car is of course possible). Just a few steps away, 3 large parking lots are available for free use.

For each additional person we charge €10.
If the couch in the living room is used, a maximum of 6 people plus one small child can stay overnight.
Regardless of the length of stay, a one-time cleaning fee of €45 applies. For planned longer stays, special conditions can be arranged by agreement.
By the way, we also offer our holiday apartment on Airbnb, where there are many photos of us posted to give a better overview of the house and the surroundings. However, since Airbnb charges fees totaling almost 20% from both the tenant and the landlord, booking here at Ferienhausmiete is rather recommended :-)

The accommodation is located in a quiet lane by the Main River in the center of Marktheidenfeld, just a few steps from the Main. Supermarkets, restaurants, playgrounds, cultural facilities, and beer gardens are within walking distance.
A highlight is our leisure pool M2 at Maradies with indoor pool, giant slide and children's area, thermal bath, and large sauna area. Our guests receive a 10% discount for this.
Marktheidenfeld is located in the district of Main-Spessart (approx. 30 km to Würzburg, approx. 45 km to Aschaffenburg).
The town with historic old town, sports center and beautiful beer gardens, on the edge of the Spessart with many hiking opportunities and attractions (e.g. Mespelbrunn moated castle). Very close to us you will also find a model airfield and a climbing hall (approx. 5 km away). Golfers will get their money's worth at the Marktheidenfeld golf course. The central location of our accommodation as a starting point for many excursions is repeatedly praised and appreciated by guests. In less than 1 hour by car you are in Frankfurt, in just over an hour in Nuremberg, and it takes only about 3/4 of an hour to get to Freizeitland Geiselwind. The beautiful towns of Lohr ("Snow White town", approx. 20 km), Wertheim (approx. 17 km), Karlstadt (approx. 17 km), or Rothenfels (smallest town in Bavaria with the castle of the same name, approx. 3 km) can be easily reached by bike and are always worth a visit because of their old and charming town centers.

When arriving, please note that our alley is very narrow. It is best to turn right from Obertorstrasse into Obere Gasse, go down, and briefly park at Mainkai to unload. Glasergasse is the next one, from Mainkai it is the second door up on the right side.

Very good holiday apartment
We booked the vacation apartment for a week with three adults and felt very comfortable. The apartment is centrally located in a very quiet alley. The Main is just a few steps away, as are bakeries, restaurants, daily necessities, and other shops within walking distance. All essentials for daily use are available in the apartment. The bedrooms are on the upper floor. Attention: The stairs to it are very steep, which is not a disadvantage for us.
The landlady is very friendly and competent. Upon request, she can provide numerous tips for excursions in the region and also for dining options within the town.
We sincerely thank her for her hospitality and look forward to seeing her again.

Short vacation
We were two in this old town apartment and we lacked nothing. Everything was present that we often missed in other vacation rentals until now. The apartment is right by the Main and it's not far to the various restaurants. There are also plenty of shopping options. We were warmly welcomed by the landlord and can only recommend this apartment.
Together with my family, I have travelled to many countries around the world. In Europe, we usually chose holiday flats as our accommodation. In our little house we have tried to arrange everything as we would like to find it as guests (of course within the structural possibilities of an old town house). I am always happy to meet nice people and I am also happy to advise my guests on what activities they can do in our beautiful little town and its surroundings.
