LA CASA DELLA MADONNA is a unique gem in a dream location for individualists as well as connoisseurs and lovers of the fine arts.
CHIMNEY ROOM: Time seems to have stood still here: As soon as you step through the main entrance into the delicate yellow fireplace room with its low ceiling and heavy, mighty chestnut beams, you feel transported back in time. The furniture from the time the house was built, with the exception of the chairs, seems to capture the atmosphere of the past. Practical: The fireplace room has an additional exit at the back of the house, which leads to a terrace with barbecue. KITCHEN: To the right of the fireplace room is the kitchen. The kitchen passage ends at the top with an original cross beam made of "pietra serena", typical for these old farmhouses. The kitchen miracle: here you have everything "within reach" - in the white-yellow, in the Tuscan country house style furnished kitchen with low ceiling, which could come from a doll's house, even the smallest corner was cleverly used to accommodate all the necessary kitchen utensils: u. a. Coffee filter machine, 2 mochas (espresso coffee made on the stove), toaster, electric kettle, sufficient crockery and dishes, iron, ironing board, clothes horse, DeLonghi vacuum cleaner. Offer every comfort: 1 new Bosch washing machine and dishwasher, 1 new full-length fridge with freezer, 1 new porcelain sink based on an antique model, 1 new DeLonghi gas stove with oven and extractor hood, 2 new hanging cupboards in typical Tuscan style, 1 original antique hanging cupboard, which comes from a desecrated church and now serves as a practical spice cabinet, including 1 antique wooden table from the time with valuable red marble top as worktop, "rosso di Verona"´genannt, another marble worktop of this type fills the back corner of the kitchen. LIVING ROOM: To the left of the fireplace room is the colourful living room/TV room (SAT-TV) in delicate yellow tones with a new, timelessly elegant and made-to-measure suite (3-seater and 2-seater). In contrast, we have chosen a massive wooden table from the 2nd half of the 18th century. Eyecatcher is the television console hand-painted by the artist Simona Bonelli, whose interior doors depict Tuscan landscape motifs. A narrow wooden staircase, now secured with custom-made stylish wrought-iron decorations, has been partially renovated in style and leads up to the first floor in the narrow pale yellow hallway. Two original preserved steps from "pietra serena" still date from that time. The masterfully hand-painted bedroom doors by Simona Bonelli with Tuscan flower motifs and stone door frames create a very special atmosphere in the hallway. FIRST FLOOR: Just to the right of the stairs you enter the so-called "Rose Room", 1 of 2 double rooms. The wrought-iron bedstead with a new memory mattress for 2 persons dating from that time is striking. The hand-painted rose medallion comes from Simona Bonelli. The "floating" wall consoles to the left and right of the bed were created by a professional master carpenter using antique solid wood in a masterly manner. The hand-painted wardrobe was also created by Simona Bonelli and fits in the style of the antique precious mirror chest of drawers. Three rare coat hangers from the beginning of the 19th century are decorative accessories. From the smaller window on the west side you have an overwhelming view of the surrounding hills, the valley depression up to the Pisan mountains, you look down on the panorama terrace and in the olive grove. From the bed you can even catch the sunset between the hills. Every morning the very elaborately renovated bathroom with shower in wellness style, very high quality WC, bidet, marble elements and washbasin with underneath attached hanging cabinet and pull-out drawers guarantees a good mood. The shower base and a niche in the shower have a pebble look. You shower with your own spring water! The Pinocchio room, a single room, with dark heavy chestnut beams, shines in friendly sepia/pricot colours. The Tromp-l´oeil room at the end of the corridor is the second double room and the coolest of all due to its location and refreshing typical blue tones. The highlight of the whole house is probably the almost floor-to-ceiling wall painting in Tromp-l´oeil manner by Simona Bonelli, which represents a fictitious Tuscan landscape. Below it, in the floor, there is a larger rocky promontory, which remained undiscovered for decades. A rare piece of jewellery is the hand-painted wardrobe from northern Tuscany, built around 1850.

SPECIAL FEATURE: Once a refuge for partisans in the First and Second World Wars, this absolutely typical Tuscan farmhouse is now a holiday paradise for Tuscany vacationers seeking peace and relaxation amidst nature. The current homeowner acquired this rustico in 2017 and, under the direction of the owner of Residenze Toscane, Mrs. Gabriele Corsten, herself a passionate art and antiques expert, this unique gem was brought back to life after extensive renovation work in 2017 and 2018, sparing no expense, time, or effort. Mrs. Corsten personally took on the complete redesign of the interior, which was partially custom-made, with meticulous attention for almost a year: furniture for all bedrooms and living or fireplace rooms, complete bathroom fittings, kitchen equipment, partly antique and custom-made and handcrafted lighting fixtures, color design of the walls, all home accessories as well as motif selection for the hand paintings. Not even the smallest detail was left to chance. Not easy to find: Part of the precious furnishings dates back to the time the house was built, around 1850, and earlier, which were gathered from all parts of Tuscany in months of research and now, in harmonious accord with the rest of the furnishings, revive the very special rustic flair of the past—elegant and rustic at the same time. To give the whole a distinctive touch, 4 Tuscan artisans were commissioned: among others. the artist Simona Bonelli, originally from Milan, who was entrusted with the artistic design of the room doors and many furnishings. Her works have already been published in “Architectural Digest.” In close collaboration with the agency owner, the motifs and colors were meticulously coordinated with the rest of the interior, and true masterpieces were created by the hand of Simona Bonelli. With the exception of the kitchen and the bathroom, the approx. 200-year-old original preserved terracotta floors as well as the heavy ceiling wooden beams made of chestnut wood are still completely preserved throughout the house, so nothing of the authentic character of this house is lost. Also characteristic of this house: in the kitchen, in the fireplace and living room, and in one of the double bedrooms, here and there some rock ledges still protrude from the floor along the walls—a sign that this house was built on a rock. NOTE ON ACCESS: To reach the holiday house, you drive about 3 km up a hill road that is initially steep, paved, and winding; the last meters of the road are vehicle-wide and somewhat uneven. Passing bays are available. Excellent motorway connection (A 11 Firenze-Mare) in Montecatini Terme to reach classic excursion destinations such as Florence, Pisa, Lucca, etc. The name LA CASA DELLA MADONNA is meant to recall a fresco painting of the Madonna and Child, to which, in the 16th century... ...to which various wondrous events were attributed over the centuries and which is still kept today in the pilgrimage church Fontenuova in Monsummano Terme. At the homeowner’s, you can purchase the particularly delicious and wholesome olive oil from LA CASA DELLA MADONNA. Due to the location of the cultivation area and the quality of the “Frantoio” olive variety, an “extra virgin” olive oil with a very low acidity level is produced and is therefore already traded as a remedy in secret circles! OUTDOOR AREA: From the "piazzale" in front of the house, you reach the private, secluded, oval-shaped panoramic pool with outdoor shower (approx. 8 x 4 m, 1.30 m deep, open from early May to late September) via a narrow staircase and a short paved walkway. The pool is partially built into the ground and borders on one side directly on a spacious, secluded sun terrace, from which you can easily enter the pool. One with nature: the silence, the pure air, and the unique view from the pool terrace paved with natural stones over the surrounding hills is a true balm and lets you forget everyday life. All around the pool, the owner has created a small lawn area, which is fenced where the sqm-large olive grove slopes steeply downward. The flatter property to the left of the pool was purchased additionally and is also available to our guests. Here everyone will find their “secret favorite spot.” From the PANORAMA TERRACE, which is built directly onto the house, you reach the cool and shady back of the house with barbecue through a small gate. The landmark of the house is the Madonna made of terracotta, for which a small “grotto” was specially created.

Holiday home with a unique atmosphere in the midst of nature with a dream location
- Extremely warm and correct landlords - we were even invited to an original Tuscan meal at a restaurant
- The house has a dream location with a wonderful view, a beautiful garden, and a lot of privacy
- Very nice terraces, a wonderful pool area, overall a very pleasant and unforgettable atmosphere
- Very pleasantly naturally air-conditioned due to a lot of natural shade at the edge of the forest
- The house is very well equipped: from fully available kitchen utensils to washing machine and dishwasher to toilet paper, sponges, soap. . .
- The house feels almost like a kind of museum with furniture and accessories specially designed for the house.
- Important to know: The house is about a 15-minute drive from Monsummano Terme. The road to the house is via a very narrow, extremely poor road and the last 100m is along a forest path.
- We would come back immediately.

Lieber Feriengast, herzlichen Dank für Ihre sehr schöne Bewertung.
Was die Zufahrt zum Haus betrifft, so ist jedoch die Formulierung „äußerst miserabel“ wirklich nicht zutreffend und kann leicht von Mitlesern falsch interpretiert werden. Die Zufahrt zum Haus ist durchaus gut passierbar, selbst mit einem Ford S-Max, Renault Master (lang und hoch) usw., was u. a. auch aus den Kommentaren der bisherigen Gäste hervorgeht. Ein paar aktuelle Fotos von der Zufahrt habe ich veröffentlicht.
Der äußerst wenig frequentierte Hügelweg, der von der Durchgangsstraße hoch zum Ferienhaus führt, mißt genau 3,6 km.
Die erste etwas kurvige Strecke von 2,1 km ist sehr gut asphaltiert, ohne Schlaglöcher, 2 PKW können gut aneinander vorbeifahren. Natürlich ist eine langsamere Fahrweise geboten.
Danach verjüngt sich die Strecke: der fahrzeugbreite Weg von ca. 500 m ist auch hier sehr gut asphaltiert, wird ebenfalls sehr selten befahren und verfügt über Ausweichnischen, falls mal ein Wagen entgegenkommen sollte.
Danach folgen weitere 500 m, fahrzeugbreit, ebenfalls asphaltiert, und hier ist der Weg stellenweise leicht holprig bis holprig.
Es folgt eine sehr bequem befahrbare 300 m lange sehr glatte fahrzeugbreite Strecke, da neu asphaltiert.
Das letzte Stück zum Haus ist ein ca. 200 m langer Waldweg. Die ersten 100 m sind asphaltiert und holprig, die letzten 100 m sind mit Kies/Schotter belegt und holprig.
Das sind insgesamt nur 700 Meter, die eine zügige Fahrweise nicht gestatten. (In 2020 gab es stellenweise noch Schlaglöcher, die aber längst repariert worden sind.)
Wir befinden uns in den Hügeln, ca. 300 m ü. d. M., mit einigen wenigen Unzulänglichkeiten, was die Beschaffenheit der Wege betrifft, muss man in dieser Höhenlage rechnen. Dafür wird man am Ende mit einem spektakulären Panorama belohnt.
Auch weise ich am Ende der ausführlichen Hausbeschreibung (https://www.toskanaferiendomizil.de/landhaeuser/la_casa_della_madonna.php), die jeder Gast vor Buchung erhält, auf die Gegebenheiten der Zufahrt hin, sodass man sich darauf einstellen kann.

Beautiful holiday days in the holiday home La Casa della Madonna
We spent beautiful holiday days in the holiday home, unique location with a very well-maintained pool, from which one could enjoy the spectacular view into the valley. The surroundings of the holiday home are meticulously maintained down to the smallest detail, and everything in the holiday home is super clean and fully equipped for a carefree stay. A quiet paradise, perfect for relaxing and recovering in absolute silence, surrounded by green olive trees. We were warmly welcomed by Ms. Corsten and the owners Laura and Guiseppe; all formalities went smoothly from the first contact to the farewell. After the first exciting drive to the holiday home, we were fascinated by this amazing, unique place, from which one has an incredible view of the hills and mountains of Tuscany from various terraces at any time of day. Watching the play of clouds during the day, discovering a rainbow, following the sunset in the evening, and looking at the glittering lights of the cities in the valley. There are many ways to explore cities, go swimming in the sea, but also spend relaxed days by the pool of the holiday home. We felt very comfortable and give a clear recommendation for the holiday home La Casa della Madonna.

3-generation vacation with dog?
We spent 3 wonderful weeks here. We were 4 adults, 1 child, and a Golden Retriever. We couldn't imagine the vastness of the property until we were on-site ourselves. Pool, yard, and a whole olive grove, fully fenced and just for us. 2 terraces, one of which is always in the shade, a dreamlike view of Montecatini – we couldn't get enough of it. The refreshing and well-maintained pool was just right for a 9-year-old. She could still stand and was hardly to be gotten out of the water. The wonderful air conditioning in 2 of the bedrooms also invited for a little siesta during the day. The great heat meant that we couldn't use the small room at first – but parents and child just snuggled a bit together, the bed in the 1st bedroom was big enough. Only in the last week of our vacation did we explore the area, took the cable car, went for evening strolls in Montecatini Terme, visited markets, and made use of the good connection to the dog beach in Livorno.
The charmingly designed house invited us to linger. The small, well-equipped kitchen had new appliances. The modern renovated, tasteful bathroom with the wonderful rain shower handled the demands of 5 people without complaint. One only had to coordinate well.
We felt very well taken care of by the landlords and Mrs. Corsten. The highlight was a large-scale dinner invitation to a traditional restaurant. That was very entertaining and above all delicious. Giuseppe and his wife were very warm-hearted. We were also regularly supplied with olive oil, plums, croissants, and Prosecco for the rest of the time. The garbage was also regularly picked up by him, and when a small technical problem arose, we were all immediately helped. At farewell, there were hot tears and the wish, we all agreed, to come back here once again. We still have much to discover.

Für alle weiteren Interessenten/Mitleser noch eine Bemerkung zum „kleinen Zimmer“, dem Einzelzimmer (Pinocchio-Zimmer): In diesem Zimmer fehlt die Klima-Anlage, da der Hauseigentümer hierfür keine Genehmigung erhalten hat. Die Anbringung einer Klima-Anlage hätte in diesem Fall die Zerstörung der Front-Fassade zur Folge gehabt. Bei den Klima-Anlagen in den beiden Doppelzimmern lag der Fall anders und konnten/durften Gott sei Dank installiert werden.

Beautiful
We were with 2 teenagers for 2 weeks in the Casa della Madonna. The holiday home is located on a hill, accessible via a steep, partly very narrow road, but this was not a problem thanks to little traffic and enough passing options. The house is definitely worth the drive! Absolutely quiet, with a wonderful view of the valley over Montecatini-Terme and Alto. It has been lovingly renovated, and the furnishings have been tastefully selected; the equipment leaves nothing to be desired, as everything we needed for cooking was there. The house and pool are spotlessly clean and well-maintained. We were very warmly welcomed by Ms. Corsten and the landlords Giuseppe and Laura; when Giuseppe came for pool maintenance, he was always open for a chat and gave us tips for excursions, etc. Lucca, Pisa, Pistoia, Florence, etc. are easily accessible and it's not far to the sea. You can wonderfully relax by the pool or on the terrace afterwards and enjoy the evening while looking at the stars or the valley filled with lights. If you’re lucky, a badger will visit the olive grove in the evenings – we have seen it a few times. Overall: absolute recommendation for the Casa della Madonna!

- Haus hat absolute Traumlage mit wunderbarer Aussicht, herrlichem Garten und sehr viel Privatsphäre

- Durch viel natürlichen Schatten am Waldrand sehr angenehm natürlich klimatisiert
- Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet: von vollständig vorhandenen Küchenutensilien über Waschmaschine und Spülmaschine bis zu Toilettenpapier, Spülschwämmen, Seife...
- Haus wirkt fast wie eine Art Museum mit speziell für das Haus designten Möbeln und Accessoires
- Wichtig zu wissen: Haus liegt in ca. 15 Autominuten Entfernung von Monsumanno Terme. Der Weg zum Haus führt über eine sehr schmale äußerst miserable Straße und die letzten 100m über einen Waldweg
- Wir würden sofort wiederkommen

Das entzückend gestaltete Haus hat uns sehr zum verweilen eingeladen. Die kleine, gut ausgestattete Küche hatte neue Geräte. Das modern renovierte, geschmackvolle Bad mit der herrlichen Regendusche hielt dem Andrang von 5 Personen klaglos stand. Man musste sich nur gut absprechen.
Wir haben uns durch die Vermieter und Frau Corsten sehr gut betreut gefühlt. Das Highlight war eine Essenseinladung im großen Stil in ein landestypisches Restaurant. Das war sehr unterhaltsam und vor allem lecker. Giuseppe und seine Frau waren sehr herzlich. Wir wurden auch den Rest der Zeit regelmäßig mit Olivenöl, Pflaumen, Croissants und Prosecco versorgt. Auch der Müll wurde regelmäßig von ihm abgeholt und bei einem kleinen technischen Problem wurde uns von allen zusammen sofort geholfen. Beim Abschied gab es heiße Tränen und den Wunsch, da waren wir uns alle einig, hier einmal wieder anzureisen. Wir haben noch viel zu entdecken.
Alles in Allem: absolute Empfehlung für die Casa della Madonna!
Die Vermieter waren wunderbar. Sehr herzliche Menschen, die sich bei Problemen rasch kümmern und nach Lösungen suchen. Auch die Kommunikation mit der Hausverwalterin war wunderbar. Kurz gesagt wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wären gerne länger geblieben....

Die Terrasse sowie das Pooldeck mit einer Außendusche und bequemen Liegen laden allzeit mit einem fantastischen Blick ins Tal zum Verweilen ein - tagsüber mit Sonnenschirmen, abends mit schöner Beleuchtung. Ohnehin hat man über den Tag bei sonnigem, heißem Wetter so gut wie immer rund ums Haus auch einen schattigen Platz.
Der Weg zum Haus ist lediglich beim ersten Mal vielleicht ein kleines Abenteuer für "Stadtmenschen". Einmal erprobt, lässt er sich - auch mit einem sportlichen Kombi - gut bewältigen. Supermärkte, Restaurants, Cafes etc. sind gut und zügig erreichbar und auch ein Strandbesuch ist in noch nicht einmal einer Autostunde kein Problem - die Nähe zu Florenz und Pisa zeigt sich auch auf der Karte.
Hervorzuheben ist die tolle Betreuung von Frau Corsten, die direkt bei Anreise für uns da war, sowie die herausragende und herzliche Gastfreundschaft der beiden Hausbesitzer Giuseppe und Laura. Und last but not least das selbstgemachte Olivenöl von Giuseppe - eine echte Empfehlung!

Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und bei Fragen standen sowohl Frau Corsten als auch die Eigentümer Guiseppe und Laura jederzeit zur Verfügung. Bei der Ausstattung des Hauses hat es uns an nichts gefehlt. Im Gegenteil, einige Wochen vor unserer Ankunft wurden 2 der 3 Schlafzimmer mit einer Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Dafür waren wir bei Temperaturen um die 35 Grad wirklich sehr dankbar!
Der Pool ist mit seinen Maßen zwar nicht zum Schwimmen geeignet dafür aber wunderbar zum Abkühlen und Seele baumeln lassen. Die Reinigung erfolgt einmal die Woche nach vorheriger Absprache und die Zeit wird genauestens eingehalten.
Im Garten, der mit Möbeln, Sonnenschirmen und (sauberem!) Grill sehr gut ausgestattet ist, findet sich immer ein schattiges Plätzchen und die Sonnenuntergänge beim Abendessen waren traumhaft.
Wer am Abend gern des Öfteren in einem Restaurant essen möchte, dem sollte jedoch bewusst sein, dass das eigentlich nur mit dem Auto möglich ist. Der Weg in den Ort ist unbeleuchtet, zum Teil recht steil und zu Fuß eher Wanderung als Spaziergang.
Für uns war es der ideale Ausgangspunkt um Städte wie Lucca, Florenz, Pisa oder Livorno zu besuchen.
Die ruhige, abgeschieden Lage ist das herausragende Moment dieses herrlichen Hauses. Wer Ruhe, Ungestörtheit und nahezu vollständiges Alleinsein mag, ist in diesem Haus richtig.
Aber nicht nur das Haus, auch die Betreuung durch Frau Corsten und den Eigentümer ist vorbildlich. Als Beispiel dürfen wir nennen, dass wir bei unserer Anreise einen Reifendefekt hatten. Sowohl Frau Corsten half uns indem Sie uns die Einkäufe tätigte! als auch der Eigentümer durch die komplette Organisation eines neuen Reifens innerhalb von 2 Tagen.

Der Blick vom Anwesen aus ist herrlich, der Sonnenuntergang jeden Tag ein kleines Erlebnis. Die Abende im Freien (wahlweise auf einer der beiden Terrassen oder auch am Pool) werden uns in sehr guter Erinnerung bleiben wegen des einmaligen Blicks auf das Lichtermeer rundum, während wir selbst die Stille und die Natur (Fledermäuse; zwei Waldkäuze, einmal kurzer Besuch von einem jungen Fuchs) genießen konnten.
Für die Inneneinrichtung des Hauses hatten Frau Corsten und die Vermieter wirklich ein Händchen - sehr stimmig, tatsächlich hat jeder Raum seinen eigenen Charme. Auch die Ausstattung der Küche ließ bei uns keine Wünsche offen, zumal alles sehr gepflegt ist und sich in sehr gutem Zustand befindet. Entgegen anderer früherer Ferienhauserfahrungen bezogen wir hier ein blitzblank sauber geputztes Haus.
Die Zufahrt mit dem Auto stellt keinerlei Problem dar, wer allerdings überlegt, vom Haus aus mit dem Rennrad (ohne 'Motor' ;) ) auf Tour zu gehen, sollte für den Rückweg ein bisschen Kondition mitbringen. Abgesehen von den letzten 100 Metern ist die Straße durchwegs asphaltiert.
Die Vermieter Laura und Giuseppe Romano sind sehr herzlich und aufgeschlossen. Aufgrund eines Ohrproblems mussten wir einen Ohrenarzt konsultieren. Frau Corsten beriet uns telefonisch, Giuseppe Romano nahm sich von sich aus Zeit und begleitete uns einfach zum Arzt. Vielen Dank noch einmal hierfür!
Dem Ohr geht es seitdem wieder gut und wir konnten die weiteren Tage vor Ort genießen - schöne Orte besichtigen, ungestört in 'unserem' Pool baden und in einem wunderschönen Haus residieren.
Wir kamen dort herrlich zur Ruhe und kommen gerne wieder.
Betreuung wie auch Eigentümer professionell, herzlich, sehr lieb und zuvorkommend freundlich.

Das Haus und das eingezäunte Grundstück (ausbruchsicher für unseren Hund) waren außergewöhnlich schön. Wer Ruhe, Abgeschiedenheit und Erholung sucht, ist in diesem tollen Haus richtig. Es hat an nichts gefehlt und das teilweise antike Mobiliar, verbunden mit originalen Elementen des Ursprungshauses waren einzigartig.
Die Supermärkte und Läden sind in ca. 10 Minuten zu erreichen.
Der Ausblick ist jeden Tag aufs Neue wieder unbeschreiblich schön. Die Vermieter und die Vermittlerin Frau Corsten sind super freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit wenn Fragen sind. Auch für die Maßnahmen gegen Corona ist mit Hygienemitteln gesorgt.
Alles in allem ein super schöner Urlaub!
