Are you looking for peace and relaxation amidst beautiful nature with sea view, large garden, and privacy? Then you are in the right place at Villa Nisi. We offer you a fully equipped and cozy holiday home with the following features.
Outdoor area:
approx. 2,100 m² property with views of the Libyan Sea, the Paximadia Islands, and the harbor of Agia Galini.
Private, illuminated pool with 5 sun loungers. Electrically operated roller gate with remote control, allowing you to park the car directly at the house
The Mediterranean garden is planted with shade-giving olive trees, citrus fruits, herbs, and numerous fragrant and flowering plants.
There are a total of 5 terraces, 2 of which are covered.
The large, illuminated roof terrace is equipped with a cozy polyrattan lounge corner and 2 sun loungers. It offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the sea and the islands as well as the mountains. In winter, these are covered with snow, while you can still sunbathe at mild temperatures.
Enjoy the view of the Milky Way on clear nights and use the available telescope to observe the constellations.
All rooms are on the ground floor and have their own access to the terraces. Regular maintenance of the garden and pool is included. Interior furnishings:
Kitchen with direct terrace access and sea view.
Microwave, dishwasher, sandwich maker, ceramic hob, extractor hood, kettle, oven, egg cooker, coffee machine, large fridge-freezer combination as well as dishes, cutlery and glasses for at least 5 people
Living and dining area:
Extendable dining table for 6 people, open fireplace, cozy sitting area with sea view and satellite TV with German and international channels. The rooms are flooded with light through the two large patio doors. The separate air conditioning units can be used for heating, and the underfloor heating provides cozy warmth. Through the two large sliding doors, you can access the spacious pool terrace from the living room, with a large table and seating for 4 people. Through two more patio doors, you reach a covered terrace with a seating area. From both terraces you have a fantastic sea view. Bedroom 1 with direct terrace access, sitting area and sea view:

Mires with the well-known and worth seeing weekly market on Saturday, a large German discount store and many other shopping opportunities and doctors - 20 km
Matala: the former, well-known hippie town - 20 km
Spili with the famous lion head fountain - 24 km
Heraklion: airport and ferry approx. 65 km (public transportation to and from Agia Galini)
The house can be reached by public transportation, however we recommend a rental car in order to explore the numerous important sights in the surrounding area—the historic archaeological site of Phaistos, the well-known beautiful Komos Beach, but also for hikers the area is ideal. Villa Nisi can be easily reached from Heraklion by car in about 1 hour. The road to the house is paved and therefore very easy to drive on.

The villa is located approx. 2.8 km from the idyllic village of Agia Galini (south coast of Crete). Here you will find numerous restaurants and taverns, shopping facilities, shops for daily needs and services
Description of the place
The beach and the beautiful harbour town of Agia Galini are only five minutes away by car and offers dozens of excellent tavernas, restaurants and kafenions ... more than enough choice for anyone filled with Crete's inimitable warmth and friendliness.
The larger towns of Tymbaki and Mires (10 and 20 minutes drive respectively) offer an excellent selection of shops and have weekly markets with wonderful fresh produce and a variety of daily necessities. These towns also have extensive medical facilities
Lovely and quiet beaches are nearby along the south coast and many within a quarter to half hour's drive.
Try Komos or Matala, Trio Petra or Agios Giorgios, or take a trip to the fantastic Samaria Gorge to start a walk in a stunning piece of nature's beauty.
And don't forget to explore history with visits to one of the world's oldest civilisations (the Minoans), many sites and excavations. The nearby Palace of Phaestos or the ruined city of Gortyn are only 20-30 minutes away.
In addition, Agia Galini offers great boat trips to neighbouring beaches, bays and small islands, as well as to the two Paximadia islands floating sublimely in Messara Bay (visible from your villa window). Preveli Beach Lagoon, with its two monasteries and small palm forest, is a delight and well worth boarding a boat for. Alternatively, drive there ... it's no more than 40 minutes by car.
Other activities
Crete offers plenty to keep a large family busy and fully relaxed on either a short or long holiday, but here in the south things are a little more relaxed.
Lounging or playing in the villa's private pool or just spending the day on a quiet nearby beach are the preferred choices of many of our past guests. They tell us about their plans, but always find everything they need and relax very quickly.
Dining out in Agia Galini is simply superb. With lots of choice, you will be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome here. You will find everything you need and much more. In addition to the first two air travellers in the history of the world, Daedalus and Icarus, whose life-size statues were erected above the harbour car park in 2004, a small open-air theatre was also built in 2013 where you can enjoy wonderful music and dance performances from time to time with a wide view of the sea. The place is probably named after an early Christian martyr, St. Galíni. Her name has two beautiful meanings. It could be translated as 'peacefulness', but also as 'serenity'.
Local events
Agia Galini hosts an annual Greek music festival (usually in August). Easter in Greek is called 'Pás-cha' The Christian Orthodox Easter is one of the most important traditions throughout Greece and the biggest event of the year. Greeks traditionally relive Christ's suffering on the Easter holiday and then celebrate his resurrection with a lavish feast.
"No man should be alone on Easter" is a widespread saying in Crete. That the Cretans, already known for their hospitality, take this proverb very seriously can be felt omnipresently during these days. Let yourself be inspired by the traditional customs and festivities and experience an Easter that you will still like to talk about many years later. The Orthodox Church follows the Julian calendar. For this reason, the Greek Easter deviates in many years from the Easter holidays in Germany. For Crete lovers, this gives them the unique opportunity to celebrate Easter twice in one year - and in a very special way.

Easyjet, Sunexpress, Ryanair, Condor, Aegean Airlines, Tuifly, WizzAir are just some of the most popular airlines that usually fly directly to Crete from the main European airports from the end of March to the end of October/November. Aegean Air also flies in the winter months
Flights land at either Heraklion (HER), Chania (CHQ) or Sitia (JSH) airports Heraklion is our closest destination, in about 60 mins max drive. A good search engine for flights is Skyscanner.de
It is also possible to travel to Crete by car and ferry. We ourselves have had this exciting and eventful experience and would do it again at any time.
The villa is available for long-term rental from November to the end of March. The minimum rental period is 4 weeks (1 month).

Pure relaxation
We very rarely write reviews, because unfortunately they are then also edited as fake. However, this holiday home deserves a top rating. My wife and I stayed at Villa Nisi for a fortnight in September and we had a wonderful holiday. We come from the immediate vicinity of Hamburg and enjoyed this heavenly tranquillity. The house and its owners also made it easy for us.
The garden is very beautiful and varied and since there are several terraces, we always found our place in the sun. Many holiday homes in the south usually only have one terrace, but here we had a choice. Especially worth mentioning is the roof terrace, with a wonderful view of Agia Galini. From here we had an unobstructed view of beautiful sunsets and in the evening, with a good glass of red wine, we looked out over the illuminated Agia Galini with its small harbour. The house with its illuminated pool, the garden, the furnishings and the equipment exceeded our expectations. The equipment of the house is really complete, everything has been thought of. There is plenty of space in the house and everything has been furnished with great attention to detail and taste. The descriptions for shopping and excursions were very nice and helpful. The village of Agia Galini is a beautiful holiday village with a beach, harbour and good, tasty tavernas.
Also in spring when everything is in bloom it must be wonderful.
We liked it very, very much and we will come back and recommend Villa Nisi to friends!

Also a gem in the Cretan winter.
Thank you very much for the wonderful Christmas days at Villa Nisi. It is something very special to find a vacation home in Crete that is equipped with underfloor heating in the living and bathroom, a cozy fireplace, and air conditioning. The view of the bay and the village of Agia Galini is also wonderful in winter. Especially from the rooftop terrace. On one side, the view extends to the Libyan Sea, and on the other side, you can see the snow-capped peaks of Mount Ida. The house itself is very clean and modern. The amenities also meet spoiled expectations (dishwasher). We will definitely come back in summer.

A quiet dream -
Unfortunately, there were only 3 great days in this wonderful, clean and spacious vacation home. The location and the view are simply fantastic. We will definitely come back in the summer and enjoy the heavenly peace.

A dream holiday
Paradise. A dream place of peace and relaxation. We spent two wonderful weeks in this perfectly equipped house. The view is breathtaking. The house leaves nothing to be desired and is furnished with love down to the last detail. The large property invites you to take a walk and the beautiful pool invites you to swim. A big thank you to the owners for providing us with this dream villa. We will definitely come back and recommend the house to others.
