Welcome, dear guests: If renting is possible in Corona times, our log cabin complies with the distance and hygiene regulations in accordance with the Corona protection ordinance and is looking forward to welcoming you for relaxed, restful weekend and holiday stays.
The log cabin Seyde is situated in an idyllic hillside location on the outskirts of Hermsdorf / Seyde, a mountain village in the Osterzgebirge, not far from the Czech-German border. The house is surrounded by babbling brooks and romantic hiking trails. In winter, with its snow-covered slopes and well-kept cross-country ski trails, it is the perfect place for a relaxing and active holiday
The house offers a living space of 150 sqm, so it is ideal for a holiday stay of families, couples or groups
It is equipped with 5 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a gallery and a large common room. It can accommodate 10 - 14 people.
All rooms are equipped with HD TVs and DVD players. The bathrooms all have WC, washbasin and shower. The central common room provides a relaxed get-together with fireplace, SAT-TV and modern kitchen with bar and large dining table.
Outside, the log cabin Seyde offers a large, covered terrace with a view of the valley. Free WLAN in the house (as LTE with volume) provides internet access
On the property we keep a charcoal grill and a fireplace for our guests. The sauna in the house can be rented optionally.
The house can be booked for 3 nights or more from 930.00 euros plus incidental costs, or as a "log cabin special" at the weekend with 2 nights and a professional barbecue course for 10 people incl. all ingredients and house incidental costs for 190.00 euros per person. The rental prices always refer to the whole house and an occupancy of up to 10 people. From the 11th person onwards, an extra bed is possible, which is charged separately.
In winter there are cross-country ski trails and a small ski lift in Hermsdorf (5 minutes by car). Larger facilities (some with floodlights and artificial snow) are in the immediate vicinity.
Recommended destinations for excursions are Dresden and Saxon Switzerland (30 and 60 minutes by car). The city of Prague is about 1.5 hours away by car

Location and surroundings of object
The house is located in a mountain village near the Czech border, at an altitude of approx. 700m. In Hermsdorf there is a bakery with a small grocery shop and various restaurants in the village and the surrounding area. Larger shopping facilities are available in the villages of Frauenstein or Schmiedeberg.

Blockhaus Seyde GmbH specializes in the construction of high-quality log cabins and wooden houses.
Our annual weekend trip with our friends this year took us to Seyde.
We really liked the log cabin. Everything was there that we needed...great kitchen, cozy living room with fireplace, nice terrace, clean rooms and beautiful bathrooms.
We felt very comfortable.

Beautiful but not perfect
A beautiful holiday home which is visually very appealing. The location is really great, you have a great view and Altenberg and the Czech border are not far away. We especially liked the fireplace, where we spent many cosy evenings.
However, the devil is in the detail and we didn't like many little things, so we have to say that the price-performance ratio doesn't fit here.
- We arrived with a total of 10 people (the house can be occupied by up to 14 guests). However, there was only seating for 8 people at the large dining table. In the outdoor area, the two groups of tables (terrace + garden) also only had room for 6 people each.
- The kitchen is generally well equipped. However, most of the large plates were already chipped in some places. Furthermore, there were mainly beer and wine glasses in the cupboard, normal water glasses were hardly available.
Furthermore, the dishes in the dishwasher were never really clean and we often had to wash them by hand so that we didn't have the remains of the previous meals on the dishes
- Unfortunately, the garden did not look very well kept. The seating area in the garden was unfortunately very dirty
- The house is very dark inside, especially in the living and dining area, which is not visible in the photos. This would generally not be a problem, but since you pay extra for electricity, you naturally pay more attention to this.
It was also a pity that there was no possibility to read the electricity, as the device was broken at the time of our visit.
In conclusion, we can say that this house is more suitable for couples or groups of men. For families with smaller children, I personally can only recommend it to a very limited extent.

Beautiful holiday home
We came to Seyde with the company (10 adults) for several days and can highly recommend the log cabin. Whether it's the kitchen equipment or the wonderful view from the terrace. The house is very nice and well-kept. You feel comfortable right away and the landscape ensures that you switch off immediately. Our forgotten things were even sent to us afterwards. Gladly again!

4 satisfied and happy generations
I can tell you on behalf of all guests of our family trip that everyone, from great-grandchildren to great-grandparents, enjoyed it very much. It has already been discussed among us to repeat a similar trip to Seyde in the log cabin. The region is versatile and pleasant in both winter and summer. Trips to Altenberg for winter sports enthusiasts, trips to Dresden or Chemnitz for those interested in culture, trips to Czech Republic for winter sports (15-20 minutes) or half an hour to Teplitz, the border is just 5-10 minutes away. But nature also offers a lot for endurance walks and hikes in pleasant surroundings. Highly recommended.

Men's weekend retreat
