Description
The "Haus Nordlicht" is a unit of three house sections, in the middle and on the right side of which are our flats 2-5, on the left the end house section can be rented as a whole house. Flat 3 is located on the ground floor of the middle part of the house and offers space for 2 people on 36 square metres (DIN measurement). All flats in the "Nordlicht" have been built to a high standard and are childproof and dog-friendly. Cleanliness is very important to us, so you can be sure to find a thoroughly cleaned flat. Please also see our Corona protection measures under "additional information".
The details: The flat offers you a bedroom, a bathroom with floor-level shower and WC, hairdryer and make-up mirror, dishwasher and of course free WLAN. Washing machine and dryer are available for our guests in the garage, iron and ironing board can be found in the storage room in the flat. There is also a contact grill, seat cushions for the garden furniture, the hoover etc. and there is space for your suitcases. We provide a high chair and a baby cot if required at no extra charge. You will find a few board games for adults and children in the living room chest of drawers.

Please understand that we do not allow a stay with two adults and a child even with a dog, as we have had bad experiences due to frequent damage. The flat is well suited for two people. With a toddler up to two years of age in a baby cot it is also still possible, but beyond that it is unfortunately too cramped and there is no more sleeping space available.
The flat is laid out with white oiled oak floorboards and tiled in the bathroom. In the bedroom you will find built-in furniture of high quality carpentry: the cosy alcove bed (140x200 cm) with reading lamp and the spacious wardrobe. You can darken the window with pleated blinds.
In the bathroom, you will find a ground-level shower, the toilet, an illuminated magnifying mirror and a hairdryer. Like the rest of the flat, the bathroom is furnished to a high standard.
The living room offers you a beautiful corner fireplace with natural stone surround and glazed doors (unfortunately currently out of use due to particulate pollution), a flat screen TV and a comfortable velvet sofa with chaise longue and reading lamp. In this spacious living room you will also find the well-equipped kitchenette with filter coffee and coffee pad machine, oven-micro combination appliance, fridge with freezer compartment, 2-burner ceramic hob, electric kettle, egg boiler, toaster, electric milk frother and really everything you need in terms of household goods, crockery and glasses.
From the living room you can access the south-facing terrace made of wooden floorboards. Here you can relax in the beach chair or sit at the table on comfortable garden chairs
Optionally, you can book bed linen and towel packages: per person the bed linen costs 11,- € and the towel package 11,- €.
We are happy to provide a baby cot with a full-size mattress and a children's high chair free of charge if required.
If you would like to bring your dog with you, this is no problem. You only pay a one-time amount of 15,- € for the additional cleaning effort. The area is excellent for long dog walks from the front door. A large meadow lies directly in front of the house and via trails you can reach the footpath and cycle path to Wenningstedt/ Kampen from here. Close by is a bridge that leads to the heath landscape opposite - lots of long walks, perfect conditions for dog owners!

Location and surroundings of object
The tranquillity and the direct view of the meadows are what make this property so special. It is located on a quiet residential street on the outskirts of Westerland towards Wenningstedt, surrounded by large meadows and fields. On the map you will see the busy bypass road, but you will actually hardly notice it and, depending on the wind situation, not notice it at all, as it lies much lower than the house. The location of the house is also not particularly affected by the airport, as there are only flights during the day and there is no significant air traffic, a little more at the weekend. The flight schedule also keeps to civilian times.
So enjoy cycling straight into the countryside, or start nice long walks with your dog from the house. The nearest beach is less than a kilometre away at the Nordseeklinik, where you can also take your dog to the beach. There is also a beach chair rental and if you keep to the left and go up the next flight of stairs, there is a nice beach café for the small hunger in between (coincidentally, it is also called "Strandhaus").
Westerland, as the capital of the island, naturally offers the greatest variety of entertainment. Here you can spend your holiday as a nature lover, but also experience lifestyle, culture, culinary delights, nightlife and great shopping
It is 1 km to the nearest beach crossing in Westerland and 2.5 km to the centre on Friedrichstraße. The bakery and the next small supermarket are near the Nordseeklinik in about 500 m, otherwise drive to Wenningstedt to Spar Feinkostmarkt Meyer 2 km or to Tinnum to Aldi, Lidl and Co. 3 km
In Westerland you are centrally located on the island, because from here the ways in all directions are not far.
You can rent bicycles at many places, perhaps the closest is in Wenningstedt on the main road. Many bike rentals also deliver the bikes, you can get a list from us. Exploring the island by bike is a wonderful experience from Strandhaus "Nordlicht", the cycle paths are very well developed. Cycle via Wenningstedt-Braderup and Munkmarsch to Keitum - the oldest Friesian village on the island. From there via Tinnum and Westerland back is a wonderful tour, which you can extend into the Tinnum meadows, or take the Keitum country road
On Sylt you are well catered for in terms of culinary delights. That's what makes this holiday so special. We have left some recommendations for you in our house folder in the flat. Besides well-known names like Gosch's "Alte Bootshalle" in List and the "Sansibar" in Rantum, you will also find a handful of "insiders". It is updated every year :)

Holidays in Corona times are different - they challenge you and us. We ask you to observe the usual distance and hygiene protection measures. Please bring a mouth-nose protection and if necessary disinfectant and rubber gloves. The keys are handed over contactless: we have a key box at the front door, for which you please request a numerical code from our house care by telephone shortly before arrival. Before your arrival, the key box, door handles, window handles, handrails, remote controls and all appliances have been disinfected. Surface disinfectant is used in the flat, and a disinfectant additive is also added to the mop water for the floor. The laundry you book with us has always been cleaned at 90°C in the laundry. The dishes were washed at at least 60°C. Please only use rinse programmes with a minimum temperature of 60°C.
Frequent hand washing - for at least 20 seconds - is a very effective protection. We will provide you with hand washing soap.
In order not to endanger our staff unnecessarily, please dispose of all rubbish before you leave and please take any opened food with you.

Parking
The parking spaces are very narrow - unfortunately there is also cross parking on the street so that you have trouble getting out everywhere.
The blinds in the bedroom are too narrow so you can see in from outside.
You don't like to turn on the light in the evening

A WE 5 was confirmed, but we received a WE 3. The invitation notebook was misplaced in the closet.
The kitchen drain is almost blocked. The lamp above the kitchen countertop was defective.
In the shower, the shelf almost falls off the wall. The garden furniture urgently needed a new coat of paint, an unsightly sight. The view of a hedge growing in the sky is dark and disappointing. Terrace available but not suitable for staying, need to walk far away. Parking lot extremely narrow when entering. Not acceptable when fully rented.

We stayed in apartment 3 for the third time and will gladly come back.As usual, everything was super clean and well maintained.Everything you need is available.Even the dog basket and bowls are on site.The location is perfect,quiet but at the same time within walking distance.A morning walk is possible directly in the meadows opposite.
