Description
Villa Casa Bahia offers spacious and comfortable accommodation, with three bedrooms sleeping up to 5 or 6 people. It is located in an accessible and attractive quiet beach side resort only 2 mins walk from the sea. Child friendly, with a good reception for families in all the local restaurants and at the nearby beach bars. Only 15 mins drive from the Universal Studios Theme Park 'PortAventura' - as good as EuroDisney but with better weather!
This is a house that we and other member of the family use each summer so it is well equipped and the furniture and fittings are well maintained and alot have been replaced in the last few years.
The main bedroom at the top of the stairs has twin beds with a relatively new mattresses (2017) and a balcony.
The second bedroom has a double bed with a new base and relatively new mattress (2016)
The third bedroom has twin beds.
The twin beds in the main bedroom can be pushed together to make a large double bed.
All three bedrooms have ceiling fans which help at night. There are also spare fans kept in the garage for each room.
The main bathroom is upstairs with a bath and shower and there is a toilet downstairs.
There is a outside shower with hot water behind the garage and privacy screen kept in the garage (please store away in the likelihood of rain)
Kids at Casa Bahia: We aim to make Bahia as child-friendly as possible for a relaxing holiday experience all round.
The villa lounge, dining area and kitchen are all open plan so it's easier to keep an eye on active babies and toddlers. The lounge furniture, dining furniture, and the patio furniture purchased were all replaced in the last few years. The kitchen was refitted a few years and now includes a dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen is well equipped and includes coffee machine, kettle, toaster, food processor and blending stick. There is hi-speed optic fibre Wi-Fi.
All external doors are lockable with a 'Chubb'-style lock. Doors to balconies which are out of bounds can be locked and the key removed for safety.
Cot and bedding provided on request
The villa has a flat lawn/paved garden and off-road parking which is enclosed by walls and a gate to prevent children or dogs escaping. The villa was fully repainted in 2022
One very useful thing for all is the secluded outside shower (hot and cold water) which enables you to get rid of the sand and salt after the beach without going into the house. There is a privacy screen kept in the garage (please store it away in the event of rain)
We have a local agent who manages the property for us and who speaks German, Spanish, English and French.
There are children's playgrounds in Parc Sama and in Cambrils for days away from the beach.
The Universal Studios Theme Park Port Aventura and Water world are only 15 car mins away:
1. The beaches (Playa Pixerota)
We tend to go to the small beach featured in the photo which is a 2-3 minute walk (go out the gate turn left for 50m across the road and you are there). It is very sandy and shallow but has a small beach bar for drinks, tapas and ice creams (look-up Xiri Felic on Facebook). The food there is excellent quality and reasonably priced. It often has a number of local residents from Mont Roig (they say locals know best!) with other local residents including Spanish, German, French and a few English Walking along the main beach in the Cambrils direction there is a larger beach bar which is open until late and does burgers, chips etc.
As well as the beach bars, there is a local restaurant within a few minutes walk. Maison Bahia is 150m to the left and the most popular with a more German menu.
2. Shops
Miami Playa has some great little supermarkets including Michaelangelo which has alot of international food (both UK and German) as well as International newspapers. There is a good fruit stall on the way to Miami Playa on the right hand side. For better value there are supermarkets in Cambrils including a Lidl and Esclat (which has a good fish counter) or the markets. Drive 2 junctions along the A7 to Hospitalet and there is a new Lidl and Mercadona.
There is a small shop at the campsite or petrol station on the main road. All sell fresh bread in the morning.
3. Visits
PortAventura includes a water park and Ferrari world and is well worth a visit with Children. We often go late afternoon and stay for the evening as the queues are often better.
For lower cost visits, try Parc Sama which is a 'Gaudiesque' park with some odd follies, ponds, streams etc. This is about 3 miles from Cambrils over the motorway.
Cambrils is worth a visit as a nice fishing port and a number of shops, cafes and restaurants.
Further afield is Tarragona which has some great Roman ruins near the port (including an Amphitheatre); the Ebre Delta (for bird watchers) and the medieval town of Peniscola).

Location and surroundings of object
We hope the following information can give you sufficient information on the local facilities: Easy driving distance or train journey to the beautiful city of Barcelona. You can catch a train direct from Cambrils station (5-10 minutes)
The villa is located just 25 mins drive from Reus airport which has flights from the UK and many other countries and 65-75 mins drive from Barcelona airport, so there are no lengthy transfers to spoil the start of your holiday.
Mont-Roig Bahia is a quiet area, particularly as there is only one road in and out, and therefore it is not as busy as nearby places like Cambrils or Miami Playa.

For us, it is a lovely location. It is just over an hour from Barcelona airport (120km) and an easy drive on the motorway .
Once there we are close enough to the beach (one road back) to be convenient without the noise of the beach or loss of privacy. The beaches are great for the families with a couple of great beach bars.
Our favourite is Xiri Felic (on Facebook) which has a band sometimes during the peak summer months and which has great food (Try the Squid!).
The beach itself is called Playa Pixerota and is split in two. Both parts are sandy and the right hand beach is better for smaller children as there is shallow water. The beaches attract locals but never really appears overcrowded.
The house is well equipped with kitchen equipment, beach stuff and games which means we don't need to take much. The bedrooms have ceiling fans to keep cool at night (with spare fans in the garage)and the living areas are comfortable.
The local area is great for shops (fresh fruit and veg stall about 5 minutes away on the road to Miami Playa) and other supermarkets within 10-15 minutes (there is a new Lidl and Mercadona 2 junctions down the A7 at Hospitalet and a big Esclat at Cambrils on the N340. For quick trips the Michaelangelo supermarket in Miami is great). For fresh bread in the morning you can get bread at the campsite or Petrol station.
Paul enjoys cycling or jogging and you can go next to the old railway track (no longer used) towards Cambrils and then on to Cambrils sea front which is well maintained with cycle paths and pavements (its extremely popular with cyclists, joggers and skaters first thing). There are two bicycles in the garage but you may need to pump up the tyres and use them at your own risk.
Cambrils is fishing port which is packed with restaurants and ice cream parlours (Try Sirvant for ice creams). It is also popular for boat trips.
For those that want to do water sports you can hire winsurfers and catamaran's along the beach at the El Prats campsite or at Club Nautico in Cambrils. There are also Jet ski's in Cambrils and Miami.
The kids enjoy trips to Port Aventura which is 20 minutes away by car.

Super holiday
Beautiful holiday home with everything you need. Very lovingly furnished. 5 minutes walk to the beach. Very nice restaurants in the area. We will come again in 2024 I promise

We purchased this a few years ago from within the family and come here most years for a couple of weeks with the children. Every year we try to upgrade the property and in the last few years have bought new living room furniture, new outside furniture, ceiling fans in the bedrooms and pictures. More recently we replaced and upgraded the 40 year old kitchen and bought new dining table and chairs, a new double bed and new mattresses in the main bedrooms. We have also bought a new HD TV and DVD player. This house is a family property which we and other family members use every year and where we have recently started renting out some spare weeks rather than a rental investment. It has a well equipped kitchen, board and card games, books and puzzles, two bicycles and beach toys which our guests are welcome to use. We ask our guests to respect our possessions.
