The Moulin d'Ibure is a former watermill. It is located just off the Atlantic coast just 30km east of Biarritz in a quiet, rural setting on the edge of the village Bardos directly on the stream Lihoury on a lot. The property is surrounded by a large garden with ancient trees, meadows, flowering shrubs and subtropical plants.
The house "Moulin" is the actual former mill building. There you will find 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on one level on the mezzanine floor. There is an approx. 35m² living space with kitchenette and dining table for 6 persons on one side, on the other side a seating area with sofa and satellite TV. The building is surrounded on the east and south sides by a wooden veranda. One room has its own small balcony over the former mill race.
The bedrooms are equipped with comfortable beds (1x 160x200cm, 1x 140x200cm and 1x 2 single beds 90x190cm), bedside tables with reading lights, small table and 2 wicker chairs. In the central hall is a spacious closet, in one of the rooms another and in another room a large chest of drawers for your wardrobe.
Both bathrooms have windows to the garden, bath with shower attachment, sink with mirror, toilet and bidet. A hair dryer is ready.
On the veranda there is a teak dining table with 6 matching chairs and a parasol. In the garden you will find another round mosaic table. There is also a charcoal grill and 6 sun loungers.
The property includes not only the house "Moulin" but also the former home of the miller, "Maison Ibure". Both have been converted into comfortable holiday homes, completely renovated and lovingly refurbished. Each house is an independent living unit with separate entrance, private terrace and each one very generous, by the former Mühlgraben clearly demarcated garden area.
Only access to the extensive grounds is common.
The third building on the site formerly housed stables. It has been modernized and today serves as a storage room and workshop. There is in a separate room the laundry room with modern washing machine, clothes lines and stands and ironing board and iron for our guests.

Location and surroundings of object
The typical Basque village of Bardos is located a little away from the tourist areas only about 30 km east of Biarritz and is an ideal starting point for wonderful excursions to the ocean, the mountains, the enchanting countryside with its picturesque villages as well as charming cities such as Bayonne, Biarritz, Saint Jean de Luz, Bordeaux or in nearby Spain San Sebastian, Pamplona and Bilbao with the famous Guggenheim Museum.
In the village, less than 4 km from the mill, you will find a restaurant, a café bar, a grocery store, a supermarket, a bakery, a butcher and the post office.
Other versatile shopping options also for local products are available in the nearby villages and at traditional weekly markets in the area.
The bays and sandy beaches on the coast can be easily reached in about 30 minutes. For swimming with small children away from the waves, you will find in the vicinity of the leisure centers with numerous other water sports on the lakes "Lac de Sames" and "Lac des Arroques" and an outdoor swimming pool in the neighboring La Bastide Clairence.
Nearby is the "Bois de Mixe", a protected forest for beautiful walks. Hikers will find beautiful trails in the surrounding hills, the nearby Pyrenees and along the coast. Even riders have many options.
There are also a lot to discover for those who are interested in culture: Museums such as the "Musée Bonnat" and the Musée Basque in Bayonne, music and dance festivals, the traditional festivals of the villages, old abbeys, prehistoric caves and much more. The Aquarium in Biarritz and the Maritime Museum are also very interesting, children will love the Chocolate Museum.
Golfing and surfing have a long tradition in the region. Lovers of these sports will find here paradise possibilities! Golfers can be found along the coast from Ciboure via Saint Jean de Luz, Bidart, Biarritz and Anglet up to the neighboring Les Landes and in the hinterland numerous first class golf courses. 11 of them can be reached quickly and easily by car in 30 to 40 minutes via the excellent motorway connection to the A63 or A64. Many of these courses are embedded in beautiful landscapes and offer spectacular views of the Atlantic or the Pyrenees.
To enjoy the holiday in the Moulin d'Ibure with its beautiful surroundings and the many excursion possibilities all around, a car is essential. Therefore many holiday guests will arrive with their own car. A very interesting alternative is also the combination of flight and rental car, since there are now many cheap flights: depending on the departure z. B. to Biarritz (about hours drive to the mill), Pau (about 1 hour), Lourdes (about hours), Bordeaux or Bilbao (about 2 hours), Toulouse ( about hours) and Santander (about 3 hours) So you can arrive relaxed after a short travel time and the long journey is worth even for a short break.
