Description
The flat
The holiday flat is approx. 50 sqm large, is located in the basement of the house and has a separate entrance. It has a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom with shower/WC. The flat is on the south side of the house, nevertheless it is pleasantly cool in summer. The small terrace directly in front of it is covered by a balcony, you can enjoy the view of the rock garden, the beautiful front garden with fountain, meadow, swing and large trees.
The kitchen is equipped with a dining area for 4 people (+ children's chairs if required), and the living room is even more comfortable with armchairs and a sofa, which can also be used as a sofa bed for 2 people. Television and a small selection of books contribute to the relaxation. Here you will also find a separate workstation for your laptop with direct internet connection.
The bright bedroom is equipped with a double bed, you will find enough storage space in the wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, WC and washstand and can be accessed from the bedroom.
The special atmosphere of this small flat is created by the interaction of the materials and colours used in the room design and furnishings. Lots of wood (carefully refurbished original doors and cupboards where possible), breathable wall paint, considered design and original artwork all contribute.

Location and surroundings of object
About 300 m after the motorway exit Wilder Mann towards the city centre, at the foot of the former vineyards of Wilder Mann, Schützenhofstr. turns right. (Incidentally, the final stop of tram line 3 and bus connection are located at this intersection). After another 200 m on Schützenhofstr. you have already reached your destination. In the middle of the large garden of the hillside property lies the renovated listed Gründerzeit house. Here, on the outskirts of the city, in the middle of the green district of Trachau / Wilder Mann, you don't feel like you're in the big city, although you can be in the city centre in a few minutes by train line 3 or in Moritzburg, at the airport, the university hospital or in the Elbepark by 4 different bus lines. With the S-Bahn you can reach Saxon Switzerland or Meißen in half an hour. Dresden-Klotzsche airport is 10 minutes away by car. Well connected and an ideal starting point for your holiday! Even if you are travelling to Dresden on business, you can reach all destinations quickly and easily by public transport, bicycle or car.
Since the Dresdener Heide begins above the property, you can take beautiful walks or hikes in the direction of Moritzburg or Radebeul (up to the vineyards) without having to drive there. The destination of a short hike can then be the Spitzhaus restaurant located above the vineyards, from where you have a wonderful view over the entire Elbe valley.
In the immediate vicinity there are several supermarkets, a health food shop, doctor and pharmacy, bakery, hairdressers, etc. We will provide you with recommendations for various restaurants. The same applies, of course, to Dresden's extensive cultural offerings! City and surroundings
Dresden combines a first-class, extremely wide range of cultural and artistic activities with an incredibly diverse, beautiful surrounding landscape. Seen from the Radebeul or Loschwitz slopes or the Elbe castles, the city appears gently and tranquilly nestled in the wide Elbe valley with its famous, fortunately still undeveloped Elbe meadows. The city silhouette is dominated by the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), the Town Hall tower, the Hofkirche (Court Church) and the Kreuzkirche (Church of the Holy Cross). Interesting examples of modern architecture are the Military History Museum (Libeskind) or the synagogue. The Semper Opera House and the State Art Collections including the Green Vault, numerous galleries (also in the New Town!), but also cinemas and theatres, the German Hygiene Museum and the Dresden Zwinger are inviting.
A completely different atmosphere welcomes you in the so-called "scene district" Neustadt. Neustadt has, of course, changed a lot as a result of redevelopment, but what has remained to this day is the atmosphere of a district with a particularly individual appeal. The best way to get around here is on foot, to stroll through narrow streets, courtyards with countless small pubs, shops, galleries of contemporary art, clubs with live music, to get stuck into one of the small bookshops or to marvel at wonderfully restored staircases and to see a film at the Schauburg in the evening.
The Elbe cycle path entices pedestrians, cyclists and inline skaters to get around of course, but in summer there are also small ice cream parlours, countless cycling pubs, a real beach including bars and the highlight: film nights on the banks of the Elbe directly in the centre against the backdrop of the Brühl Terrace. Active holidaymakers may also be interested in cycling along the Elbe to Saxon Switzerland or Meissen. Saxon Switzerland is a paradise for hikers and climbers of all levels of difficulty, and it is also possible to take easy walks along the newly opened "Malerweg". Here you can hike to places made famous by Romantic painters such as Carus (after whom the university hospital is named) and Ludwig Richter.
The tour of the historic paddle steamers also takes you past the Elbe castles via Pillnitz Castle to Königstein, Wehlen or Bad Schandau in Saxon Switzerland.
In 10 minutes by car (or by bus) you can reach Moritzburg with the hunting lodge of Augustus the Strong, Käthe Kollwitz House, Pheasant Castle or game reserve and a beautiful lake landscape, where you can also swim, by the way.
Stolpen Castle or Hohnstein, Weesenstein Castle, the Albrechtsburg in Meissen - there are too many to list here. An hour's drive south of Dresden, you are already in the heart of the Ore Mountains, the cradle of Christmas tradition. Castles such as Frauenstein, the woodcarving workshops of Seifen, exhibition mines are interesting, but so are winter sports! You can quickly reach the slopes of Altenberg or the Czech Republic.

Highly recommended!
The tasteful and cozy furnished apartment is located in a very beautiful and quiet district of Dresden. The contact with the landlord was friendly and informative. We also liked very much that the tram to the historic center, but also to the train station, can be reached in just a few minutes' walk. The family day ticket in Dresden costs only 10 €. We were impressed by the beautiful city and the wonderful excursion options, e.g. to Loschwitz.

Stilvoll eingerichtete Ferienwohnung
