The house is super well located, within walking distance of a swimming pool which you can visit for free with your tourist card. You can start from the house by walking or cycling route. Large shop in 3min by car.

We have been there with 11 people including 5 children aged 10 to 13 years. Fortunately we had the weather so bad that all of them every day were skiing Unfortunately skie rink was closed in Todtmoos, few kilometers further on, they have a lot of fun A supermarket in the village where you can buy everything for your daily use

Hospitable reception in a beautiful villa. Interior dated, kitchenware quite tricky. Mansard do nicely decorated with familieslaapkamer.Beheerder and resident Maria very friendly and helpful. Nice small village nearby. Slopes were unfortunately closed and we had 30 min drive to Muggenbrunn. VERY nice and quiet slopes!

The beginnings of Todtmoos are based on a religious myth, according to which a Marian apparition led to a pilgrimage and the founding of the place. The name "Todtmoos" derives from former moors where apparently poisonous mosses grew. The baroque pilgrimage church "Unser Lieben Frau" on Schönbühl is one of the highlights of the region and is a popular pilgrimage site. The neighboring rectory from 1749/33 is often referred to as a "palace." Initially simply designed by the architect Johann Michael Beer von Bleichten, it was later splendidly rebuilt by Johann Kaspar Bagnato and served the abbots of the powerful St. Blasien monastery in the Waldshut district Waldshut as a summer residence. Definitely worth seeing are the magnificent design with the ceiling painting by Johann Anton Morath and the so-called "Fürstenzimmer" with elaborate doors and a faience stove. In the Mättle district, you will find the "Hoffnungsstollen" visitor mine, which offers interesting insights into the more industrial past of the region. In "Heimethues Todtmoos," the local history museum of the municipality and the oldest preserved building, you will gain access to the history of your vacation spot. A literal high point is the "Hochkopf" itself. At 1,263 meters, the local mountain offers a beautiful view, and in special weather conditions, even as far as the Swiss Alps. Many old chapels can be found on your bike or hiking tours throughout the entire municipality of Todtmoos. Particularly noteworthy are the magnificent, typical "Black Forest houses" of the region. If you feel like experiencing urban culture and sightseeing, then take a day trip to Freiburg, 50 km away, or Basel in Switzerland! At least try the cheese spaetzle and the Fädlesuppe if you shy away from the meaty delights of, for example, beef with horseradish.
