Directly at Lago di Ledro, there is a holiday village and four towns. The tourist center is located in Pieve di Ledro. In the main town of the Ledro Valley municipality, there are numerous significant buildings, such as the Annunciation Church and the old town hall. A holiday home or apartment in Pieve di Ledro is also an ideal starting point for bike tours and hikes. The municipality of Ledro includes the three districts of Molina di Ledro, Pieve di Ledro, and Mezzolago. The picturesque Lake Ledro is a maximum of 47 meters deep, has a total area of 2.2 km², and is one of the most beautiful lakes in Trentino. The surrounding mountains are reflected in its crystal-clear water like a picture book. The first road was built here in 1847, characterized by countless narrow serpentines and nowadays only accessible by mountain bikers. By car, you can comfortably reach the Ledro Valley via two long tunnels. Lake Ledro became famous, among other things, thanks to an archaeological find in 1929. When the water level was lowered for the connection to the Lake Garda power plant, remains of Bronze Age pile dwellings were discovered on the lake bed. This prehistoric settlement is now considered one of the most important in Europe due to its state of preservation and extent. Although many finds have fallen into the hands of grave robbers, some can be seen in the museum of Molina di Ledro. All around Lake Ledro, such as in Pur and Pieve Mezzolago, there are bathing spots, beautiful sunbathing lawns, and pebble beaches. The third national park is Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino. This protected area on the border with Veneto is home to numerous deer. In the visitor center, you can observe them from a safe distance. The park is also known for its wood. For a long time, the world's most famous violins have been made from the spruce trees. The most popular lake and the largest inland lake in Italy, Lake Garda, is located in Trentino-South Tyrol. Cypress and citrus trees grow on its shores, while in the north, near Riva del Garda and Torbole, a 2,000-meter-high mountain crown pushes into the clouds – the area could not be more diverse. Of course, Lake Garda is also a mecca for outdoor and sports enthusiasts. Trentino-Alto Adige is Italy's northernmost region and has an autonomous special status. The Council City preserves its complete art-historical heritage in its monuments, shaped over time by both cultures. The most important sights of Trento include the cathedral with its enchanting square and the Neptune fountain, the Castello del Buonconsiglio, which was the residence of the Trento prince-bishops for many centuries, the Council churches and the frescoed houses, as well as the exhibitions and museums that make Trento an impressive cultural center. How do I come to Ledrosee?

Arrival at Lago di Ledro

You can reach your holiday apartment or house on the beach of Lake Ledro and its surroundings by car via the Brenner motorway A22. Then take the Roverto sud exit and continue in the direction of Riva del Garda, from where you follow the SS 240 into the Val di Ledro. Alternatively, take the A4 motorway to Brescia est and then continue along the Val Sabbia to Storo. From here, take the SS 240 to Val di Ledro. If you prefer to travel by train, go to Rovereto station and then change to a bus to your accommodation. The nearest airports are Brescia-Montichiari and Verona-Villafranca.
