Nice house, but...

The holiday house "la Casa Tramonto" is well-equipped. And the telephone contact with Mrs. Laub (landlady) was always very friendly and warm. But unfortunately not completely informative about the local circumstances. There is a beautiful sun terrace with a wonderful view towards Grosseto and the sea. Unfortunately, the access directly to the house is very narrow and difficult. For inexperienced drivers with a normal car (PASSAT), it is almost inaccessible. And the town, where there are almost never/no parking spaces (even in the pre-season!!!), can only be reached via a very steep footpath. And if you want to park on the steep access road, you will immediately be confronted by quarrelsome residents that "this is THEIR parking space"! Carrying luggage from the town to the house and back to the car is actually not reasonable!!! The sun terrace only has two umbrellas (one was defective/unusable), which can rarely be used anyway, as there are usually gusty winds and the umbrellas cannot and should not be opened, and there is no other shade available, such as sun sails, etc. Therefore, no shaded areas and you have to retreat into the house. The upper terrace (which has no umbrellas and chairs/loungers) can only be reached via a steep outdoor staircase that is not secured by a railing!!! Carrying garden furniture upstairs?! Or a tray with food and drinks?! Well, well. Too bad. And attention for coffee drinkers: there is no normal coffee machine / automatic machine available. Unfortunately, this information is missing in the inventory description. The town itself has a great bar "Le Nozze di Cana" and an excellent restaurant "Da Noi a Cana". Both are definitely worth a visit. If you can live with the aforementioned drawbacks, it is a beautiful place.

Absolute recovery

For us, the holiday at Casa Tramonto in Cana was just the right thing. Due to the solitary location, we were able to absolutely relax from everyday life without any kind of constraints. We made trips to Sienna, Florence, etc. and always looked forward to the clean air, nature and the cosy security of our holiday home. For anyone who loves peace and nature, it is the perfect way to switch off. For fans of sightseeing and daily activities or visits to stands, it should be borne in mind that the location is remote and secluded, so a longer journey is necessary.
The lovingly furnished house offers all the little things you need for the duration of a holiday (& beyond)
We felt very comfortable. The rental process was absolutely professional and friendly

Beautiful house on dream hillside....

We stayed in the house Tramonto for 14 days in September 2011.
The house is very romantically situated on the slope of a village-very quiet, in the middle of the vineyard and olive plantations.The furnishings are modern and sufficient for 2-4 people-almost everything is available,plenty of bed linen and towels,cleaning supplies and etc.,plenty of kitchen utensils,sunbeds...The access to the house requires some experience and skill as a driver-we recommend parking the car about 60 meters from the house.
