Holiday apartments and houses in Monte Amiata

The holiday house "la Casa Tramonto" is well-equipped. And the telephone contact with Mrs. Laub (landlady) was always very friendly and warm. But unfortunately not completely informative about the local circumstances. There is a beautiful sun terrace with a wonderful view towards Grosseto and the sea. Unfortunately, the access directly to the house is very narrow and difficult. For inexperienced drivers with a normal car (PASSAT), it is almost inaccessible. And the town, where there are almost never/no parking spaces (even in the pre-season!!!), can only be reached via a very steep footpath. And if you want to park on the steep access road, you will immediately be confronted by quarrelsome residents that "this is THEIR parking space"! Carrying luggage from the town to the house and back to the car is actually not reasonable!!! The sun terrace only has two umbrellas (one was defective/unusable), which can rarely be used anyway, as there are usually gusty winds and the umbrellas cannot and should not be opened, and there is no other shade available, such as sun sails, etc. Therefore, no shaded areas and you have to retreat into the house. The upper terrace (which has no umbrellas and chairs/loungers) can only be reached via a steep outdoor staircase that is not secured by a railing!!! Carrying garden furniture upstairs?! Or a tray with food and drinks?! Well, well. Too bad. And attention for coffee drinkers: there is no normal coffee machine / automatic machine available. Unfortunately, this information is missing in the inventory description. The town itself has a great bar "Le Nozze di Cana" and an excellent restaurant "Da Noi a Cana". Both are definitely worth a visit. If you can live with the aforementioned drawbacks, it is a beautiful place.

We felt very comfortable. Despite direct neighbours (shared access to the upper floor), one is very private and undisturbed on the property and in the lower living area. The landlords, an older couple, are very friendly and extremely helpful. However, communication is a bit difficult as neither of them speak a word of English. The house is very tastefully furnished in typical Tuscan style. We would come again. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you will definitely find it here. A big praise to Mrs. Schuler. She always takes care of problems quickly and is always available.

We spent a great summer holiday in this holiday home (2 adults and 2 children). The house is well maintained, clean and very comfortably furnished. The garden and especially the pool are wonderful. The barbecue area is great, we used it often. The owners are very friendly and helpful (an older couple who don't live on the property themselves), but they don't speak any English at all. They are very keen to make sure you have a good time. All German TV channels can be received excellently via satellite. Wifi is on the lower floor, but can also be used upstairs. A car is a must. The smaller villages in the area are actually too far away on foot. In addition to the description of the house, it should be mentioned that one does not live alone in the entire area. Basically, it is a three-part terraced house complex. The oldest and foremost part is the holiday home (former farmhouse), which consists of the ground floor and ground floor. The two floors are connected exclusively by a staircase outside, i.e. there is no connecting staircase inside the house. The middle house, as well as the outside, are permanently inhabited. The connecting staircase outside, also serves the middle terraced house as an access staircase. Consequently, the property and the common courtyard are also regularly occupied. This means that it is not possible to walk from the upper floor down to the garden/pool "lightly" clothed, as there are always "onlookers". In the garden, on the other hand, you are completely undisturbed and don't hear anything from the neighbours. We could quickly come to terms with the "neighbourhood circumstance" (as it is not apparent from the house description and photos). We would like to positively emphasise the communication with the agent Mrs. Schuler. Always very fast and reliable. She also sent us a great information folder about Italy, Tuscany, excursion destinations and many tips in advance - really top!
