Description

The apartment is located on the first attic floor of the villa and is composed of 2 bedrooms (the first with 2 double beds and the second with three single beds), a large and bright kitchen - living room with overhead light, 1 living room with view of the Candia hills, 2 bathrooms attached to the bedrooms (+1) and 2 terraces where it is possible to eat outdoors. The apartment is equipped with all comforts (air conditioning, free internet connection). Access to the apartment is autonomous. The owners, Alessandro Paolo, Anna and a bloodhound named Vito, live on the ground floor.
Our guests can relax in the garden and use the swimming pool. In the garden there is a table for eating and a barbeque for cooking.

Location and surroundings of object

The villa is located in the immediate vicinity of the city (the centre is about km away), in the hamlet of Mirteto, at the foot of the Candia hills, surrounded by other dwellings and with a garden full of all kinds of plants and palms. All services can be reached in a few minutes. The sea is about 4.5 km away.
The town is located at the foot of the Apuan Alps facing the sea, a fortunate position that allows you to enjoy the entertainment of the Versilia coast and beautiful walks in the Alps with enchanting views .
At a short distance (about 30-40 min.) are the cities of Lucca and Pisa with their splendid landscapes, at the same time you can reach the beautiful Cinque Terre park (Unesco heritage site) with its typical colourful villages facing the sea and steep slopes cultivated with vines. The Cinque Terre can also be reached by a convenient railway connection and, by sea, by a boat that provides daily connections during the summer.
The valleys of Lunigiana offer wonderful opportunities for those wishing to spend a quiet day enjoying excellent traditional cuisine and visits to ancient medieval castles on the hilltops. A very short distance away are the towns of Pietrasanta (known for its art workshops), the charming town of Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi with its shops selling the best designer labels and the delightful town of Sarzana with its historic centre and castle. From the Malaspina Castle which dominates the town of Massa you can admire the splendid panorama which embraces the Riviera from Viareggio to the Gulf of Poets with splendid sunsets over the sea.
For mountain lovers, there are many paths, from the easiest for children to those for experts. For trekking enthusiasts, there is also a beautiful road through the mountains, designed in the 18th century by the architect Vandelli, that connects the city of Massa with Modena. This road was originally designed for horse-drawn carriages but is now used by hikers who appreciate the clean air, the silence of the mountains and the beautiful views it offers. The town of Carrara is worth a visit for its artistic workshops and marble museum

A dreamlike accommodation

We were there as a family with children (8 and 5 years old). The garden with its many exotic plants, which is lovingly maintained by Anna and Paolo, is indescribably beautiful.
The pool is a highlight for the whole family. The attic apartment is very spacious and furnished with loving details. In the kitchen you will find everything you need. Everything was very clean. The air conditioning in every room is worth gold at plus 35 degrees Celsius outside temperature. Anna and Paolo are true treasures as hosts. Very friendly, helpful and committed. You get good tips for excursions.
The city of Massa is not a particularly beautiful area, but if you drive a bit further, there are nice corners. The beach, about 15 minutes away, is wonderful if you pay for it. 50 euros for a parasol and 2-3 sun loungers/chairs, but a very clean beach, friendly staff, food/drinks, showers and toilets, as well as a covered parking lot. You have to like the free beach sections.
Definitely take something against mosquitoes, they really like human blood at any time.
We would definitely go there again.

Vacation in paradise

We felt very comfortable in the vacation rental. It was very spacious, clean and completely sufficient for our family of 4. The air conditioning was a great bonus during the hot temperatures, especially at night. The pool, the view and the garden were fantastic. The personal care by Anna and Paolo was warm and exceptionally friendly. We had a wonderful vacation. Thank you for everything. We will come back.

The paradise

We were allowed to spend a beautiful week in this fantastic accommodation! The lovingly designed garden and the house, which looks like a real temple, make you feel like in paradise! It's even more beautiful than the pictures suggest! We didn't lack anything. The homeowners are extremely friendly and helpful and can speak English very well. The only thing you should know in advance is that there are a lot of mosquitoes there. So you should bring enough mosquito spray or buy it on site.
We would love to come back to Anna and Paolo!

What a beautiful vacation!

At the beginning of June, the three of us stayed as guests in Anna and Paolo's holiday apartment in Massa-Carrara for a week. We were impressed by the beautiful and extraordinary apartment and the wonderfully beautiful garden with a pool. The hosts are so warm and welcoming - we felt very comfortable there and would come back at any time and recommend the apartment! Due to the great location, you can reach the sea in a few minutes. Cities like Pisa, Lucca and Florence are also easily accessible for day trips. But even if you just want to relax by the pool or garden, Anna and Paolo are the perfect hosts!

Exceptionally great apartment with pool. Insider tip

A place where you feel at home
Let's start with the lovely landlord couple, who were very friendly and helpful and gave us good tips for excursions and restaurants.

The flats themselves are well equipped. We have not had this before. With air conditioning in the living area and both bedrooms. Two roof terraces.
Then there is the large pool which we used every day. The large garden is a feast for the eyes with its countless palms and fruit trees

It was also good that we were allowed to park on the back part of the property. On the narrow street in front of the house, you really have to be afraid of run-off mirrors.

I'm sure I've forgotten to mention a few more nice things. But one thing is for sure, if you book here, you won't make a mistake

Great

The estate is an enclave of beauty in the rather charmless residential town of Massa. The exception is the truly romantic Massa Fortress. The landlords are super nice and it is a privilege to stay in the very stylish villa with its park-like garden.
From the flat, the Cinque Terre can be reached in just over an hour, Florence in 1.5 hours. The prices in Massa were surprisingly reasonable, the beach unlike the town itself, very clean. Cinque Terre is probably a must, but is overrated in my opinion, as it is insanely overcrowded. An unforgettable experience was swimming in Porto Venere. The water is green and crystal clear and the scenery is magical
Lucca and Sarzana are very beautiful and only half an hour away. We left the car behind and drove around on rented scooters. If you dare to do that, you are king in Italy, you can drive up at any traffic light and you can always find a free parking space. In summary, it was a great and not expensive holiday.

Culture and beach holiday with stylish accommodation

The house itself is certainly unique. Once again, recognition to Paolo. The fact that the owners live in the house was positive for us. Those who want to have loud parties are probably in the wrong place here. For families and cultural vacationers, Anna and Paolo are ideal, and so I can confirm the previous reviews.

All photos correspond to the current condition or the current condition is even better, as for example. the pool, which is in top condition without any contamination on the floor, walls, or in the water. I already miss my morning swim with my daughter in the 10-meter long and up to 2.5 meters deep pool.

Actually, one shouldn't even advertise it here and just recommend it to their best friends. But Anna and Paolo deserve this.

Why sometimes only 4 stars and not always 5? Of course, there are accommodations that offer even more in terms of luxury. You can definitely find those in the neighboring seaside town of Viareggio. But then, the whole thing probably costs more than double.

Stylish feel-good oasis

We (2 friendly couples) had the pleasure of enjoying Anna and Paolo's hospitality for 1 week. The apartment was spacious enough, the view through the porthole into the garden is breathtaking, and we will not forget the hours spent at the small but fine pool. The garden (Anna: vegetable garden) is exceptionally beautiful, an oasis for relaxation. The location is optimal for exploring the nearby attractions of Tuscany and Liguria. The tips from Anna and Paola were very helpful here and should definitely be asked for. This allowed us to reach a traditional restaurant on foot, which we would have never found otherwise. All around, a stylish ambiance that we looked forward to inhabiting after each tour. We always felt welcome and immediately at home. Anna and Paolo, thank you once again! Grazie mille!
