Location and surroundings of object

Kleinwalsertal is a high-altitude notch valley in the Allgäu Alps and is located in the east of Vorarlberg. The Breitach river runs through the entire valley and is fed by several side streams that originate from the side valleys of the Kleinwalsertal. Wonderful hiking trails invite you to go alpine hiking
The Kleinwalsertal is almost completely surrounded by high mountains. These belong to the Allgäu Alps, which are part of the northern Eastern Alps. They cut off Kleinwalsertal from the rest of Austria. There is only a transport connection to Oberstdorf on the Bavarian side.
Other mountains are the Elferkopf (2387 m), the Hohe Ifen (2230 m), the Kanzelwand (2058 m), the Fellhorn (2038 m) and the Walmendinger Horn (1990 m). The entire ski area offers over 25 kilometres of prepared pistes. In addition, a fun park and a boarder park are offered. Near the hotel you will find the Walmendinger Horn cable car. It transports winter sports enthusiasts to the ski area, which consists of two chair lifts (one two-seater and one four-seater). The approximately ten-kilometre ski area is aimed more at experienced winter sports enthusiasts. A smaller ski area for children can be reached on foot from the hotel
The Hoher Ifen ski area includes two chair lifts, a T-bar lift from the middle station and offers a further 20 kilometres of pistes. There are also a number of small lifts in the valley, most of which are connected to each other by the Walser-Skigleitweg. This means that Kleinwalsertal has a total of 56 km of prepared pistes, and together with the pistes on the German side 76 km. In addition, there are 42 km of cross-country ski trails between 1050 and 1260 m above sea level, as well as more than 50 km of cleared or groomed winter hiking trails.
In summer the numerous hiking trails invite you to great mountain tours. Horse riding, tennis, Nordic walking, summer tobogganing and mini golf are all possible in the Walsertal. In the NaturErlebniskarte you will find 10 Nordic Walking routes, explained with length, altitude difference and of course the altitude profile. The map is available in all Kleinwalsertal tourist offices. In the neighbouring village of Riezlern there is an open-air swimming pool with a 50-metre lane and a family area with slides. If you are a mountain biker you will surely find what you are looking for. A gigantic mountain panorama accompanies you on challenging MTB tours and descents.
