The spacious living room scores with high ceilings, large windows, bright, warm colours and a fantastic view of the Schlei - whether in the cosy sitting area, which has been furnished with high-quality couch sets, the comfortable dining area, at the bar counter in the kitchen or even in the bathroom: everywhere you can enjoy the wonderful water view! All of the high-quality furniture was designed exclusively for this holiday home in the hosts' own carpentry workshop using local woods and ideally integrated into the floor plan with technically sophisticated, space-creating elements
The open kitchen leaves nothing to be desired with brand-name appliances and extensive utensils, and media entertainment is also provided with a flat-screen TV, sound bar and free Wi-Fi. For restful nights, the bedroom is equipped with a double bed at a comfortable height and an electrically adjustable slatted frame. The bathroom offers a ground-level rain shower, a beautiful washbasin and a wonderful view of the Schlei - you can look through the large window across the kitchen onto the If necessary, you can simply slide the mirror in front of you from the side
Maritime decoration has been perfectly matched to the location of the flat and paintings by regional artist Bernd Sievers perfectly underline this beautiful ambience.
On the balcony you are offered the best harbour cinema: Watch the beautiful hustle and bustle on the water, sailboats and excursion boats sailing in and out, passing the Schleibrücke every hour, and water birds flying by, taking a short rest on the historic herring fence That's how wonderful a holiday on the Schlei is!
A parking space reserved exclusively for you is located 200 metres away. A lockable bicycle shed is available to our guests together with the flat "Starboard" at the car park for the safe storage of bicycles brought along. Here you also have the possibility to charge your e-bike free of charge!
At the Weidefeld Baltic Sea beach, a beach chair reserved exclusively for your stay awaits you during the summer season and free parking is also assured!

Directly on the Schlei at the harbour of the town of Kappeln is the beautiful flat "Backbord" on the 1st floor of a historic house that once housed Kappeln's station hotel. Enjoy the fantastic view of the Schlei directly from your balcony, with the historic herring fence and the Schleibrücke bridge always in view. Only a few metres away, many small shops, cafés and boutiques invite you to stroll through the town centre.
The Angeln region is also wonderful for long walks or bike tours - enjoy the beautiful nature and discover the idyllic Schlei villages! Alternatively, you can take a paddle steamer, the "Schlei Princess", which anchors right "in front of your doorstep", for a worthwhile boat trip on the Baltic Sea fjord Schlei and experience the surroundings from the water for once!

Just right for us!
My girlfriend and I wanted to take our first little vacation, and with Kappeln and the holiday apartment Backbord, we found exactly what we were looking for! The moment we entered the apartment, we were amazed! Everything coordinated down to the smallest detail. The view when we woke up in the morning or went to bed. A dream. Cinema, restaurants, and small shops - all within walking distance. The landlady herself had genuine recommendations and tips for our stay. The evening walks along the Schlei still make us swoon, and we would repeat the vacation at any time.

Very beautiful and luxuriously furnished holiday apartment, which exactly matches the property description. The apartment impresses with its very nice design equipment and well-thought-out technical functions. The impressive view of the Schlei is particularly beautiful. Ein traumhafter Platz
A beautiful atmosphere with a place to dream. The view of the harbor in the morning, right after waking up, immediately makes you forget the everyday stress. In the apartment, you will find everything your heart desires and a little more to make it beat faster. The beautiful walks along the Schlei and the evenings on the balcony with a wonderful view have stayed in our memory and will bring us back soon. We were warmly and friendly received by the hostess, who also gave us some tips for leisure activities. Thank you for the nice vacation!
