Holiday home with panoramic view of the Libyan Sea and the Paximadi Islands
Only about 4 km above the beautiful Triopetra Beach lies the stone house Paximadi.
Completed in winter 2015 / 2016, the house is well furnished and offers its guests a comfortable holiday with beautiful views over the olive groves, the Paximadi Islands and the Libyan Sea.
From the car parking area at the house, you enter the large, fully furnished terrace.
On cooler days or evenings, the covered terrace can be transformed into a winter garden by closing the panoramic windows. Ideal for spring or autumn holidays.
There is another open terrace in front of the house
The fully air-conditioned stone house Paximadi consists of a combined kitchen and dining area and a bedroom with double bed, shower/WC.
The house offers space for two persons.
In the well-equipped fitted kitchen you will find a large fridge-freezer combination, dishwasher (45cm), electric oven with ceramic hob and extractor fan, microwave, coffee maker (Bodum principle) and toaster.
Sufficient crockery is available.
In the bedroom there is a large built-in wall cupboard which offers plenty of storage space.
Bed linen and towels are provided in sufficient quantity.
The Taverna Filenia is only about 500m away, other tavernas on the beach and in the wider area.
PLEASE ask for your desired period - the occupancy calendar is not always up to date.

Even though the south coast of Crete is no longer an "insider's tip", there are still only a few private accommodations and small guesthouses available to guests in the untouristy Triopetra
What can you find here....
first of all, no open-air discos, no bed castles.
Very rarely (in August, when the Greeks themselves are on holiday) a private motorboat.
Otherwise, you will find pure relaxation here!
In addition, there is the wonderful kilometre-long sand/pebble beach "Triopetra Beach" and other beaches in the vicinity, where so far everyone has found "their spot".
Clean water for swimming and snorkelling, nice tavernas, quietly situated accommodation.
If there is no full moon and you look up at the sky in the evening, you will experience a splendour of stars that you never thought possible!
We would like to recommend this area to you!
But not only beach holidaymakers will find "their holiday" here, hikers will also get their money's worth.

Description of the location of our quiet and untouristy area:
The beach of Triopetra - below the mighty mountain massif Assiderotos - in an overwhelming landscape - lies this wonderful holiday dream in the south of Crete! Most of the terraces and balconies of the holiday homes offer a magnificent panoramic view of the Libyan Sea. Triopetra is a small region on and above a fantastic stretch of coastline named after a striking trio of rocks (Triopetra) offshore in the sea. The beautiful, kilometre-long beaches and hidden coves that bear this name extend both east and west of this rock formation.
The region thrives on holiday homes often tucked away, scattered far into the surrounding countryside, some of which can be found high in the mountains off the road winding towards Akoumia. Here you have the advantage of fresher air, which is sometimes not the case with houses directly by the sea, as it can sometimes be very humid in the evenings near the sea.
From here, your car rolls down to the western part of Triopetra almost by itself in a few minutes. Shortly before reaching the beach, however, you can also opt for the eastern part by simply turning left. Here you will find extensive beaches, secluded coves (some nudist) and a variety of quaint tavernas above the beach.

Relaxing vacation
We had a wonderful vacation in the well-equipped stone house in a secluded location. The private terrace with a great sea view was very nice. Only 10 minutes by car to empty beaches. Friendly reception and good tips from Peter. We would love to come back.

From dream became reality
This house is one of the most beautiful we have ever booked! Where should I start? Absolutely perfectly equipped kitchen; nothing was missing. It was a huge advantage for us, as we had to cook more often due to the unusually bad weather, especially since almost all the taverns were still closed. The location is simply dreamlike; from the large terrace, a view of the Libyan Sea. Sun from morning until sunset. The living space includes the kitchen, followed by the bedroom, both with air conditioning (which we only needed for heating a few days) and top clean and functional. The bathroom was accessible separately via the terrace; also in top condition. The huge advantage of this house is that the very large terrace in the middle can be separated by a sliding door into a winter garden and an open part. We had to close the door several times because the weather was acting crazy; 2 days of hurricane. You couldn't leave the house. We were very happy about the conservatory area. Even some heavy rainy days could be wonderfully spent in the house. A heater for the conservatory was kindly provided to us. There is always hot water in the kitchen and for the shower. SAT-TV with German channels, DVBT with internet. WLAN works excellently. The house is located on the road to the beach of Triopetra, easily accessible and absolutely quiet. Two taverns are a maximum of 800 m away (one was even open at the end of our stay). The nearest supermarket is in Spili (25 min), Agia Galini and Plakias are easily reachable (about 30 min). In short: If I have the opportunity, I will book the house again immediately. (Maybe already for the autumn, if it is available).
But you do need a car.

Very nice house with a great view of the Libyan Sea
We spent two great weeks here. The house offers everything you need in terms of equipment. And you can enjoy the peace and quiet without neighbours and an unobstructed view of the landscape and the sea.
Especially in windy weather, the sliding glass door between the covered seating area and the outdoor terrace is worth its weight in gold
We also appreciated the possibility of an additional outdoor shower on the terrace.
The food tips mentioned by Peter Tremmel were all very good. Especially if you appreciate authentic food in simple tavernas. It is worth driving a few kilometres for this
A vehicle is necessary for this and also to get to the surrounding beaches.
Due to the location with few shopping facilities, it is advisable to take care of some basic foodstuffs already on arrival. For example, there are two well-stocked mini-markets in Spili. However, these can also be reached in about 20 minutes from the house.
All in all: highly recommended

Paximadi Stone House
We spent 3 wonderful weeks in this cosy house. It is equipped with everything you need and everything is in great condition!
I would especially like to emphasise the sliding door of the conservatory which, when closed, allows you to sit outside even during storms. Peter's support is super!
We will definitely come again!

Stone House Paximidi
Hose was exactly as described and the equipment was of a high standard. Very beautiful and peaceful location in this unspoilt and undeveloped area of Crete. Peter Tremmel gave us a warm welcome.
