Description
Off the beaten path, but just a short distance from the village and the beaches, and only 10 km from the UNESCO World Heritage town of Sintra, this beautifully designed home was built with local stone from the property, combining a rustic look with modern comforts.
Olive trees, umbrella pines, and meadows dominate this secluded 5 acre property, which is completely enclosed by high fieldstone walls, ensuring your privacy.
In spring, it is especially beautiful, with a large variety of wildflowers and herbs.
Birdwatchers will find plenty to enjoy here. Small owls, jays, turtledoves, and many different small birds nest on the property. Hawks circle high in the sky, and in the evening twilight, sea ducks often make one final round.
The house is fully furnished with antique ethnic furniture and natural materials, designed as a passive solar home to remain comfortably cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
From the green roof you can enjoy a view of the Sintra mountain range with the Pena Palace and Moorish Castle, and the Atlantic Ocean on the other side.
A large enclosed courtyard with a covered veranda, seating areas, and an outdoor shower invites you to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. In addition to the barbecue, there is also a fire pit that is often used on cooler evenings.
The house and courtyard are surrounded by lawns, umbrella pines, and olive trees.
Beyond the ornamental plants and flowers, you'll also find herbs for cooking and making tea.
The well-equipped kitchen with its large dining table encourages cooking and dining. It comes with a basic supply of coffee, tea, spices, olive oil, vinegar, and more.
The main house features a spacious kitchen with a long dining table, ideal for larger groups, and a cozy living area with a large wrap-around sofa and a wood-burning stove.
There’s also a large bed room with a 1.40 m wide double bed, a bunk bed (each 1 x 2 m), and a sofa bed.
Adjoining the room, there are 3 bathrooms.
From the courtyard, a separate entrance leads to two spacious bedrooms, with a shared bathroom.
The beds (0.90 x 2 m) can be placed together or apart. If needed, a crib or additional bed can be provided.
All bedrooms have blackout blinds, and all windows are fitted with mosquito nets.
The bathrooms are equipped with hairdryers and makeup mirrors. A washing machine is available in an outbuilding.
Off the courtyard there is an additional bathroom.
There are three houses on the property, in addition to the Stone Castle. We ourselves live in one of them. The Castle is located on the upper part of the property. There is ample separation between all houses to ensure privacy for everyone.

Location and surroundings of object
The village of Sao Joao das Lampas is a 10 minute walk away. There you can find everything for your daily needs. Just off the village square there are cafés, small supermarkets, a butcher, a bakery, post office, ATM, petrol station, and a pharmacy.
A traditional farmer's market takes place on the first Sunday of every month, where you can browse amongst stalls offering tools, shoes, chickens, and garden plants, as well as fruit, vegetables, cheese and other local products.
The surrounding countryside is dotted by windmills, fields, and gently rolling hills stretching to the Atlantic coast. The nearby beaches are under the protection of the Sintra–Cascais Nature Park, and many are relatively calm even in summer.
The quiet but central location of the property is an ideal starting point for day trips.

What a great place!
What an outstanding special place family Rosner has created! Amidst a wonderful garden, full of lovely and thoughtful details, the surfhouse is fully equipped for a great holiday. Be it in the yard or open air barbeque and dining spaces or inside at the cosy fire place. The kitchen is professionally equipped for big family cookings and eatings.
Sao jao das Lampas is close to all the great beaches & surfing spots. Although cosy and calm, it offers a fab bakery and grocery shop.
We fully recommend the Surfhouse and will be back soon! Thank you for wonderful days.

This house is more than a house
From the moment you step onto the land, you feel the care and energy woven into every stone of this beautiful house. Perfectly located in the heart of Sintra, it offers easy access to the many treasures of the region, yet feels like a peaceful retreat of its own. We've stayed here for a few days, with 4 adults and 3 kids.
The house is spacious, thoughtfully designed, and keeps a perfect temperature thanks to its remarkable architectural and structural work. Water from its own well adds to the sense of being fully connected to nature.
Paul and Steffi, the lovely owners, have created a place where you immediately feel at home, with everything you could possibly need—whether in the kitchen, the living spaces, or the cozy bedrooms. We couldn’t have wished for more, and will come back soon.

A beautiful vacation
The house is located slightly outside of town in a beautiful landscape. In April, everything was just blooming. From here, you can easily take trips to Sintra, Lisbon, Setúbal, and the north. Stefanie and Paul are very friendly and accommodating, and we received great tips, such as for an excellent Portuguese restaurant nearby. It was our first time in Portugal, and we found the country and the people fantastic. Thank you very much for the lovely time and looking forward to seeing you again?

100% Nature and Relaxation
For those who love absolute tranquility, this is the perfect place. Nestled away in nature, almost unnoticed, is this dreamlike beautiful stone house with a fantastic courtyard. Approximately 700 meters on foot for shopping. No traffic. A 20-minute drive to the beach by the sea. Half an hour to Lisbon, an hour and a half to Nazaré. For us, with our two dogs, it’s an absolute dream. Never (and we travel a lot) have we had anything comparable. The owners are very pleasant and very likable. You can park the vehicle right in front of the property. We enjoyed two wonderful weeks and would have liked to stay longer if we hadn't had to return home due to scheduling. We are determined to come back again, and then for longer.

Lovely and peacefull house, great recomdendation!
We stayed 1 week at Quinta das Asas, We loved everything about the house, it is a very luxurious house with a positive energy. The decoration is special and gave a special feeling to our stay. The house is fully equiped, everything is there. Great shower, good bed and several places to relax and feel at home. The area is quite but everything is close by. We loved our stay and recommend the Quinta stronly.
