Off the beaten path, in the quiet countryside near the historical town of Sintra, this very special house is waiting for you. It was designed according to passive solar principles, staying cool in summer and warm in the winter months.
It is lovingly decorated with ethnic antique and handcrafted furniture, and all the finishes are of natural materials. Surrounding the house are spacious terraces where you can dine or lounge about, and enjoy the unobstructed views of the Sintra mountains and the Pena is also a shaded deck with a hammock for long siestas.
Growing in the garden beds around the house are a variety of organic herbs, flowers, salad greens, and vegetables. Feel free to pick them and prepare delicious meals in the well equipped kitchen.
Olive trees, pine trees and meadows dominate this secluded 5 acre property, which is completely enclosed by high fieldstone walls, ensuring your privacy.

Location and surroundings of object
The village of Sao Joao das Lampas is a 10 minute walk away. There you can find everything for your daily needs. Just off the village square there are cafés, restaurants, a small supermarket, bakery, post office, and a pharmacy.
A traditional farmer's market takes place on the first Sunday of every month, where you can browse amongst stalls offering tools, shoes, chickens, and garden plants, as well as fruit, vegetables, cheese and other local products.
The surrounding countryside is dotted by windmills, fields, and gently rolling hills stretching to the Atlantic coast. The nearby beaches are under the protection of the Sintra–Cascais Nature Park, and many are relatively calm even in summer.
The quiet but central location of the property is an ideal starting point for day trips.
There are two houses on the property, the "Stone Cottage" and the "Stone Castle." The Cottage is located on the upper part of the land, and the Castle on the lower part, surrounded by large pine trees. They are separated by a distance of over 200 m, so that the privacy of the individual houses is not compromised.

a great house in a dreamlike environment
we felt very comfortable in this house. The landlady Stefanie was very sympathetic and helpful. The house is fully equipped, including consumables. The view into the valley is fantastic and the peace and quiet. We will gladly come again.

Beautiful holiday home + area!
Far away from tourism, an oasis of tranquillity, the house was furnished and built with great attention to detail. The pictures do not do the house justice, in reality it is much, much more beautiful.
We spent a wonderful week there, Stefanie was a great hostess and was there to help us in word and deed.
We will be happy to come back.

Stone Cottage - July 2017
We spent a lovely week at the stone cottage in July 2017. The quality & style of the house were impressive and the tranquility of the location was much appreciated. As a family with 2 teenagers it was a perfect place to relax & to use as a base to explore the local beaches & for trips to Sintra. Paul & Stephanie were great hosts & we would certainly recommend staying here. And don’t forget the organic herb & vegetable garden too!

A wonderful holiday in a quiet location
We had a wonderful 11 days here in a very well furnished house, absolutely quiet location and a fantastic view of Sintra with the Pena Castle.Paul and Stefanie are very nice hosts who help you with good advice.Good shopping facilities in the village and definitely a visit to the snack restaurant in town. We can only recommend this holiday home and are happy to give it 5 stars!

Our relaxing vacation at Quinta das Asas
There is really only one thing to say: we had a great vacation in this house. Very friendly and attentive landlords, a beautiful and well-equipped cottage, and an absolutely quiet location. Shopping possibilities in the next village, a paradise for hiking and cycling, and the enchanting city of Sintra and the sea are also not far away. We can only recommend this property.
