Ideally located just a 500m meander from the golden sandy beach of El Palmar, and brand new for the summer of 2018, El Descanso has proved to be a popular choice – perfect for couples or small families who want the luxury of their own private pool.
Chani and Antonio have lovingly built this charming single-storey casita just a few minutes stroll from the jaw dropping beach of El Palmar. The private pool terrace provides the perfect spot for relaxing with a glass of Fino and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, or contemplating where to dine out that evening. ‘Foodies’ should try the Michelin-rated Casa Francisco restaurant in El Palmar, the place to eat the 'Catch of the Day' or any of the numerous bars and restaurants along the beach road - many vith oceans views and memorable sunsets.
For a rewarding day out, take a trip through the nearby white-washed, hill-top village of Vejer de la Frontera with its cosmopolitan atmosphere and large choice of Spanish, French, Italian and Moroccan restaurants. Or for a hidden oasis check out Santa Lucia for simple tapas in Venta El Toro or go upmarket in La Castilleria which serves some of the best cuisine in the area.
In the other direction you have Conil de la Frontera, the shops and restaurants of this pretty fishing town are just a energizing 90minutes walk (7 minutes drive) away along the beach - the cobbled whitewashed streets are begging to be discovered.
It’s hard to tear yourself away from this relaxing spot but with the golden sandy uncrowded beaches of this unsophisticated coastline, the many interesting historic cities and whitewashed villages all within a short drive, there is plenty to explore.

Gary Biston has over 30 years experience working in the travel and hospitality industry. Gary originally qualified as a chef, before moving into hotel management and the travel industry - working in France, Colombia, Spain and her islands. Having worked in a variety of positions, in many European countries and Latin America, for both mass market and specialist operators - Gary has a well rounded background and understands the varying needs of his clients. It comes natural to him to try that little more, to offer better than the rest – a philosophy which became second nature whilst working for up-market companies like Lotus Supertravel Ski and Simply Travel. Whilst still living in London he was a founding Director of Simpson Travel and was instrumental in hand picking their portfolio of properties for their programme of distinctive villas and charming hotels in Andalucía, Mallorca and Morocco. In 2004 he and his family moved permanently to Andalucía where they live in Medina Sidonia.
