Astruc and de simony (2 pers) - The gites comprises the ground floor of the barn next to the caslte, 40 m2, each. It is an open space with bedroom, kitchen and bathroomen terras (TV, sateltie, DVD, internet), Next to the barn is the 2nd swimmingpool. The 2 gites are very suitable for a family of 4, thanks to the connecting door.
Sollier (4 pers) - The gite comprises the 1st floor of the barn next to the caslte, 80 m2. It has a fully equiped kitchen,, a living (TV, sateltie, DVD, internet), 1 bathroom, 2 bedrooms and a privat terrace. (+ babybed and chair) Next to the barn is the 2nd swimmingpool.
St. Pons (8 pers) - The gite comprises the 2nd floor of the castle, 150 m2. Given the castle is built against the mountain, the 2nd floor entrance , private terrace and garden is on ground level, overlooking the forest of 4 ha. It has a fully equiped kitchen, a dining room, a living (TV, sateltie, DVD, internet), 3 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms (2 pers.) and one bedroom (4 pers.). (+ baby bed ad chair)

Apt is a lively city in the heart of the Luberon, which dates back to the Roman times (biggest Provencal market, antique market, cinema, wine castles, musea, horse riding, sailing, walking, resturants,...) and is surrounded by many beautiful cities and mountain villages at short distance.
(Gordes, Bonnieux, Saignon, Ile-sur-la-Sorgue, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Menerbe, Lacoste, Lourmarin) Château de Peyrolles offers the combination of an authentic Provencal experience with contemporary comfort.
History
The origin goes back to the Roman times. According to historians, the castle is built on the remains of one of the 12 Roman villas, “Villa Peyrolis”, which used to exist around Apt. The current castle is built at the end of the 16th century.
There is also a 15th century watch tower, and an old Roman fountain and lavoir. Several noble families lived in the castle over the last centuries.(St. Pons, Astruc, Sollier and de Simony)
The domain is very child friendly, with a soccerfield, a trampline,a swing , 2 swimmingpools, and many quiet places. Each gite has its own terrace with table and chairs.

Relaxing family holiday
The accommodation is particularly suitable for families with children. We stayed in the St. Pons holiday flat last year. We liked it so much that we were there again this year in July and would also like to spend our next holiday there in 2018. This year we had the apartments Astruc and de Simony. This was particularly convenient because the pool was right in front of our rooms, so you could always keep an eye on the children.
There are 2 pools in total. 1 pool is cleaned with UV, so it is also great for children or allergy sufferers. From this pool, you have a great view over Apt. You can even swim in the dark. The other pool is cleaned with chlorine and is located directly in front of the flats Astruc and de Simony. Above these two flats is another holiday apartment with 2 bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also the possibility to stay in a gypsy caravan or an old tower (on top of which there is an air-conditioned tent)
For the children, there are various DVDs in the pool house (nothing in German, but we didn't mind), games, etc., a trampoline and a small play tower with swings.
The rooms are tastefully furnished and clean. Unfortunately, the TV only receives Belgian and Dutch channels. However, there is also a DVD player and free Wi-Fi
Katherine, the hostess, is very helpful and always has an open ear. once a week there was a very tasty menu for the guests (costs extra). She even prepared something different for the children. It was really delicious. Every morning, fresh baguettes are brought to your flat. Otherwise, you have to cater for yourself or you can go to the restaurant. However, you should bear in mind that in France, restaurants only open in the evening from around 19:30.
We love the nature, the peace and the particularly favourable location of the chateau

We are Tom and Katherine, from Belgium, we still live and work there in wintertime and come to the Provence for 5 months in summertime. Our Children, Lorenz 22y and Manoe 21 y, are studying at university in Belgium. 20 years ago we bought a small holiday home in Apt, but 10 years ago, we exchanged it for Château the Peyrolles. We adore restauring old, authentic houses, and of course having guests. We have a very nice dog, Dingo.
