This holiday flat is hard to top

We were allowed to spend a week in this wonderful holiday flat. We have been spending our holidays in holiday homes or flats for more than 30 years. Together with a couple who are friends, we travel both at home and abroad. I am responsible for choosing the accommodation. After this holiday, we agree that it will be difficult to top this accommodation again the next time we look for it.


We had nothing to complain about. I have read the previous reviews carefully and cannot understand some of them. The fact that there is no double bed in one of the rooms could be seen in the exposé. We could sit on the chairs at the dining table and the terrace is the absolute highlight. The wooden floorboards were perfectly fine. The house has a high quality and extensive equipment. We did not miss anything. You can also cook an egg in the pot (there are plenty of them). It is not a problem if there is no egg boiler. We love the fact that not all the food from the previous guests is disposed of. When we arrived at the weekend, we were thrilled that salt, oil, etc. were available. You don't have to use them and if something is no longer usable, you can just throw it in the rubbish. If you want to find flaws, you will certainly find soft ones everywhere. Perfect is relative. We didn't find any flaws. Underground parking, lift, fantastic view of the lake and the surrounding area, quiet location and yet very close to the most beautiful excursion destinations such as Königsee or Obersalzberg. We are not typical hikers, but a walk around the lake or along the well-signposted circular and forest paths to the neighbouring villages was no problem for us. It was a wonderful time in this beautiful flat.

Dream holiday

We have been coming to this wonderful holiday flat for several years.
The furnishings are very upscale, so you feel comfortable all around
The large terrace invites you to relax, the view of the lake is a dream. Here you can arrive and let your soul dangle.
It's like coming home...
The area offers great hiking destinations, both for families and for sporty hiking experts.
For us, the perfect holiday destination, we love to come back again and again!

We have become regular guests.

For many years we have spent our entire annual vacation in beautiful BGL, we have gotten to know many apartments, none is like this one! Unlocking, entering, arrived at our second home. Rightfully, we have been regular guests here for several years. This beautiful vacation apartment impresses with its location, every comfort of a vacation apartment is provided here. Starting with high-quality equipment such as dishes; branded appliances, etc., there is nothing lacking here. If you have any comments, Mr. Graeve is committed to providing immediate assistance (always reachable). Mrs. Wagner ensures the very good atmosphere of the beginning holiday days, always friendly, accommodating, and available at all times. After beautiful excursions or demanding hikes, one can enjoy the cozy terrace with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains and the Hintersee. The lounge invites you to relax and unwind with a good glass of wine. Every holidaymaker should please keep in mind that this is a vacation apartment and not your own home. However, Mr. Graeve is particularly committed to achieving this goal. Many different people change places in these rooms throughout the year. Inappropriate criticism should be reconsidered. For us, the perfect vacation begins anew here every time. We ALL should take a little care to treat this apartment as if it were our own for the duration of the vacation so that we can continue to enjoy it for a very long time. Experiences May 2022

Beautiful apartment. Great view. BUT.
No two double bedrooms. One room with a double bed. Plus one room with two single beds. Plus a pull-out sofa bed in the hallway.
Worn-out dining room with sagging chairs (already addressed in some older reviews) now also stained. Terrace floorboards quite old and not well-maintained. According to the house rules: "Do not enter the terrace barefoot" (seriously?)
In the kitchen, for example, there was no can opener, only one egg cup, etc. Open bread crumbs with best before date of September 2019 found. For further interest, photo requests can be sent to Hintersee-ferienwohnung@t-online.de.
Conclusion: If the issues are addressed, this could become a beautiful apartment.

It couldn't have been better!

We had a wonderful time at the Residenz am Hintersee. The great apartment, the super beautiful terrace, the perfect weather and the breathtaking landscape. We didn't want to go back home at all. The communication with Mr. Gräve and Mrs. Wagner was very good. We were extremely satisfied all around. We will definitely come back and send many greetings to Berchtesgaden.

Comfortable apartment in a fantastic location.

We were fortunate to enjoy the apartment for 10 days. The terrace alone deserves 5 stars. Since we were traveling with 2 couples, it was also good to have 2 bathrooms available. The kitchen is well equipped (no mismatched dishes) and also has amenities that go beyond the usual vacation rental (from a hand mixer to a lemon squeezer). We also appreciated that many hikes could be started directly from the house or that the bus could be used for free with a guest card. We would love to come back.

Great location / A bit dated

The apartment impresses primarily with its great location. We had a fantastic holiday in this regard. Unfortunately, the apartment (especially the kitchen, dining room, and bathroom) was not properly cleaned upon arrival, so we had to clean it ourselves. The dining area is also quite old. Some kitchen utensils were missing or defective (coffee machine broken; no egg cooker). However, a solution was provided for the coffee machine. In the bathroom, the towel holder was broken. No solution was provided during our stay. The wardrobes were quite small, so it could get tight with 4 people staying. Nevertheless, we can recommend the apartment as a perfect place for a relaxing holiday with a sensational view, a starting point for many hikes and other activities.

Absolutely recommendable

Our most beautiful vacation so far! The highlight of the apartment is definitely the spacious balcony with the breathtaking view of the Hintersee and the towering Hochkalter behind it. Otherwise, we found a large, clean, and above all well-equipped apartment. It doesn't get any better!

Great winter holiday for nature lovers

In wonderful, quiet nature we spent a quiet and beautiful winter holiday at the idyllically situated Hintersee. Despite heavy snowfall, the circular hiking trail around the lake was cleared daily. When hiking around the lake, you have a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains on a clear day. We felt like we were in a winter fairy tale and even our daughter had fun on her sledge and feeding the ducks at the lake. The holiday flat leaves nothing to be desired. The equipment is top. The cuisine at the "Seeklause" inn, which is only a few metres away from the residence, is highly recommended. The lake and also the area of Ramsau as well as Berchtesgaden make you want more holidays also in spring, summer and autumn.

Great winter vacation

Everything has already been written about the accommodation. There is nothing more to add. We had a great winter vacation. Unfortunately, there was no snow, but no one can do anything about that. A good starting point for day trips like Reit i. Winkel, Salzburg, Kitzbühl, etc. We would love to come back.

Beautiful location, excellent amenities, spacious rooms

The apartment is beautifully located right on the shore of Lake Hintersee. The large sun terrace, excellent and modern equipment, especially in the kitchen, and the cozy and spacious living and dining room make the apartment perfect for a family (active) holiday. Mountain tours, walks, and bike rides are possible right from the front door. The contact with the landlords was quick, warm, and reliable. highly recommended!

Perfekter Urlaub

We can absolutely agree with the consistently positive reviews of other guests. Very nice landlords and great on-site support, and the location of the apartment is simply sensational, the equipment surprisingly high-quality, and the room layout ideal. In disbelief, we stood on the terrace on the first day and enjoyed the view. It is even more beautiful than in the pictures. One must force oneself not to spend the entire day there because the activities directly on site and in the region leave nothing to be desired. The entire Berchtesgadener Land region is simply incredibly beautiful and diverse. We are already planning the next stay and will book again. Probably in May/June or in the fall.

Arrive and feel at home!

The apartment is furnished with great attention to detail. High-quality appliances throughout the apartment! You arrive and immediately feel comfortable. The view, whether from the apartment or the terrace, can only be described as WOW!

There are no need for many words about this holiday home, SUPER GREAT!!!!!!

The contact with the landlord and on-site was very warm.

Ein traumhafter Urlaub

A beautiful large apartment with top equipment in a perfect location.
However, the absolute highlight was the terrace with the view, even though it couldn't be used often, but the owners can't control the weather.
Would love to come back anytime!!!!!!
