Description

The detached chalet Ca'mea is situated in the spa town of BREITEN in a quiet hillside location above MÖREL with an unobstructed view of the village, the Rhone and the mountain landscape.

The village of MÖREL can be reached in a few minutes, from there the entire ALETSCHARENA is accessible with the connection through the Riederalp railways.

The holiday flat in the Chalet CA'MEA is 80 sqm and classified with 4 stars by the Swiss Tourism Federation.

The 4 1/2 room flat has a separate entrance and is tastefully and very comfortably furnished on 2 floors

In March 2018, the kitchen and the main bathroom were completely renovated.

Downstairs: 1 double room, bathroom (massage shower, WC, bidet), balcony with access from the living room and bedroom with a wonderful view

Open, very well equipped kitchen, open living and dining area with fireplace and satellite TV.

A rustic wooden staircase leads to the upper sleeping area.

Upstairs: 1 double bedroom (2 single beds), 1 single bedroom bathroom (shower, WC).

There is a private underground parking space + an outside parking space (50m from the house).

Free internet access, TV with all international channels and free use of the washing machine are also available to guests!

BREITEN is situated at 900 m above sea level and is the ideal starting point for the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site ALETSCHGLETSCHER and the entire ALETSCHARENA.

Chalet Ca'mea is in a very quiet location at the end of a dead-end street in BREITEN, just 10 minutes' walk above the Riederalpbahn valley station of Mörel. There are individual well-kept chalets in the near vicinity. Various hiking trails lead from the holiday home into the surrounding nature.
A romantic path leads from the chalet to the centre of Mörel, from there you can easily reach the entire ALETSCHARENA holiday area by cable car, starting point for skiing and hiking holidays.

There is no traffic road along the house, only a path for the adjacent meadow to a chalet.

In the village of Mörel you will find: railway station (Glacier-Matterhorn cableways), supermarket, tourist information centre, bakery, post office, pharmacy, doctor, small shops, hairdresser, playground, restaurants, hotels, cafes, etc.

The town of Brig is only 8 km away at the foot of the Simplon Pass and is well worth seeing with its historic Stockalper Palace and lively town centre, and can be reached quickly.

BREITEN is a recognised health resort thanks to the SOLEBAD - SALINA MARIS. Breiten ob Mörel in the Upper Valais is the only mountain resort to have had a spa for more than 30 years, the water of which is enriched with natural brine, the salt from the primeval sea that covered what is now Switzerland 250 million years ago
The warm seawater pool and the wellness and fitness centre have recently been modernised.

The SALINA MARIS wellness centre is a 2-minute walk from Chalet Ca`mea
After hiking or skiing you can relax there in the brine bath, with bathing, sauna, massages or cosmetic treatments.

Swiss Alps - road trip

Yvonne is a superb host, communication was excellent and the booking process was straightforward. Yvonne was away during our visit so upon arrival we were greeted by her neighbour. Raoul is very helpful, explained everything we needed to know & speaks English very well.
The chalet is lovely and very well equipped with everything you might need. It’s a steep 15 minute walk to the local grocery store & there is a nice coffee shop en route. The railway station and gondola to the Aletsch Arena are here, too. Mörel is a more of a place that you might pass through, for us it was a good base for road-tripping & exploring the adjacent Alps. There is private underground parking included.
Superb hosts & beautiful chalet. I can recommend.

Quiet location with a view

We can fully recommend the Chalet Ca‘mea for a summer vacation! The chalet is perfectly located in the Rhone Valley, hiking trails start right on site or you can use the mountain railways just a 10-minute walk from the house. Otherwise, there are countless tours with beautiful views!
The house itself is a nice mix of modern standard and cozy furnishings. The kitchen is also perfectly equipped for hobby chefs. In the evenings, we enjoyed relaxing hours on the balcony. The on-site support from Raoul was very nice and uncomplicated.
In summary, we are well-rested and since we also really liked the region, we will definitely come back next year.

It was a very nice holiday. Great facilities
Walking up from the gondola to the house is exhausting. You have to be fit. You can also go down by car every day, but it costs parking fees
The kitchen leaves nothing to be desired!!!!!
Support is also very good!
If there is sun, the space on the balcony is brilliant!
We liked it very much!

We enjoyed this beautiful holiday home. It was beautifully furnished and very complete.
The manager Raoul was very friendly and the service was great. The owner is very dedicated and responds quickly. There are many possibilities for nice excursions and beautiful mountain tours in this area. We can highly recommend house Ca'Mea

Location idéale pour départs de randonnées

Friendly welcome from Mr. Raoul who speaks perfect French and gave us lots of advice for hikes.
Everything here is rigorously clean, bedding, bathrooms, dishes, and even the dishwasher filter ;) which is not always the case.
The downstairs bathroom is new (shower with massage jets). The kitchen, completely renovated as well, is stocked with a large quantity of dishes and pots + a Nespresso machine. A large balcony allows you to admire the view of the mountains and the valley.
Secure underground parking with a reserved spot for the chalet.
For TV addicts, there are also Swiss and French channels available.
The wifi works perfectly.
A magnificent rental that allowed us to go on beautiful hikes.

Cozy Home, Great Location

This unit is one of the nicest we have stayed in with VRBO. There was parking for our car (you should have a car to stay here) and the unit was very clean, roomy and well supplied. It is almost under one of the gondola support towers, but we never heard the gondola running and we were so close to the gondola when we wanted to use it. The view down the valley was magnificent. The managers, Martina and Raoul, were friendly, very helpful and had a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us! This was a great location from which to visit the awesome Aletsch Glacier, Zermott and the Matterhorn, Simplon Pass and to do some spectacular hiking. Nearby Brig is a picturesque town to explore and has a variety of great restaurants. Yvonne, the owner, gave us a call to make sure everything was OK. I usually have suggestions for owners about things they could do to improve their guests' stay but I had nothing to suggest here!

Super well maintained chalet - everything is just right!

Chalet Ca'mea is simply ideal for exploring the Valais
It is very easy to reach and super central. From here you can reach Zermatt, Saas Fee, Leukerbad and Lake Maggiore in no time. And the cable car to Riederalp can be reached on foot in just a few minutes.
You can go on great hikes and if the weather is good, as it is here, you can marvel at the breathtaking mountain scenery
Top tip: Gornergrat cable car to the Matterhorn panorama view.
The chalet is cosy, spotlessly clean and well equipped - especially the kitchen
The landlords are super friendly and always ready to help. The on-site managers are also very nice and always on hand
In short, Chalet Ca'mea is highly recommended!

very well maintained, beautiful holiday home

We spent a week in the cosy, very well-maintained and excellently equipped holiday home and felt very comfortable
The care by the landlady and the on-site manager couple was extremely attentive, very nice and exemplary
The equipment of the holiday home corresponds to the information in the online advertisement
Everything was very clean, well maintained and in very good condition. There were two of us and we only stayed on the lower floor of the flat. On the lower floor there are two bedrooms, a bathroom with bathtub, the living room, dining room and the kitchen. There is also a balcony that you can access from the living room and bedroom. From the house you have a wonderful view into the valley. The two cable cars in the village can be reached on foot
There are beautiful hiking trails in the immediate vicinity
The town of Brig is not far away and offers numerous shops, restaurants and cafés. We can recommend the guided tour of the Stockalper Castle
A special excursion is a trip to Zermatt and, for the best view of the Matterhorn, a ride on the cogwheel railway to the Gornergrad (approx. 3,100 m)
The panoramic view of the snow-covered mountain peaks is phenomenal
We can unreservedly recommend this holiday home for several guests!
