Location and surroundings of object

The Maremma is one of the most unspoiled regions of Tuscany and is ideal for a nature-oriented, relaxing holiday. Hiking trails begin directly from Podere Sant’Angelo, leading through Mediterranean holm oak forests and open hill landscapes with wide views.

Roccalbegna (approx. 8 km) offers two grocery stores, a pizzeria/trattoria, a bar, and an e-bike rental. Here you will find everything you need for your daily needs without having to give up peace and quiet. The region combines nature and culture in a special way. Etruscan towns such as Pitigliano, Sorano, and Sovana impress with their rock architecture and historic alleys. You can reach the thermal springs of Saturnia in about 30 minutes.

The Val d’Orcia, with its UNESCO-protected hilly landscape and the wine region around Montalcino, invites you to panoramic drives, hikes, and wine tastings. For a day trip to the sea, the Parco della Maremma offers unspoiled beaches, while Monte Amiata provides pleasantly cool mountain air in summer.

The region is especially suitable for guests who do not want to check off as much as possible, but rather wish to enjoy landscape, culture, and good food at their own pace.

In high season the arrival day is Saturday, other times it is flexible. A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm a booking. The balance can be paid in cash upon arrival. Fees are including gas, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels (not beach towels). Do not forget to pack your beach towels for the hot springs of Saturnia! A washing machine is available for a small fee.

To confirm the booking, a deposit of 30% is required. The remaining balance is due no later than 21 days before arrival. In the event of a cancellation up to 21 days before arrival, the deposit will be fully refunded minus any possible bank charges. In case of a later cancellation (less than 21 days before arrival), a refund is unfortunately no longer possible. We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance.

Sustainability at Podere Sant’Angelo
Podere Sant’Angelo is managed responsibly and with environmental awareness. The holiday apartments are well insulated, equipped with double-glazed windows and energy-saving LED lighting. Electricity comes from renewable sources, water consumption is reduced through efficient fittings. Environmentally friendly cleaning products, waste separation, and composting are part of everyday life. The firewood comes from the region, the garden is maintained without herbicides or insecticides and designed with native plants. Guests are encouraged to use tap water and support local producers. In the future, solar collectors are to further reduce energy consumption.

A home in Tuscany

During our second stay in Podere Sant'Angelo, we stayed this time in the flat "Capitorio". It is as well equipped as "Albegna" and also offers a wonderful view of the valley from the terrace as well as absolute peace and quiet, apart from sheep and crickets. You could relax undisturbed for days on the spacious, lovingly planted property. If you like winding and mountainous country roads like I do, you will also have fun driving to the destinations in the area. Nature lovers will find many worthwhile destinations, and those who appreciate art or historical buildings will discover many interesting places within an hour or two's drive. The nearest Roccalbegna seems like something from another era because, despite its population of only 300, it has two grocery shops, a butcher, a pharmacy and a bank, and the inhabitants actually fill the place with life. For everything you need and plan, Graham is a great support as an attentive host with lots of ideas. His special tip was two concerts at the Amiata Piano Festival, an extraordinary concert hall in the middle of the mountains with outstanding classical music artists. Podere Sant'Angelo is like a little home in an exciting environment. We will definitely be back!

Idyllic Tuscan escape

My partner and I went for our summer holidays. Our villa was so beautiful and comfortable. We cooked lots of delicious meals in the kitchen with fresh produce from the nearby supermarket - in Tuscany, even the supermarkets sell the most gorgeous tomatoes, aubergines and potatoes - so flavoursome! There was wifi connection at the villa but it still felt far away from the stress of life. We had an idyllic time painting and writing in the garden and slept so well in the huge bed. Our host, Graham, was kind and friendly and so accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place for a sublime, rustic escape!

Tuscany pure: These two words describe the essence of Tuscany.

Right in the middle of it instead of just being involved is the feeling when arriving at this place. Fantastic view, short distances to many sights in the area and a landlord who takes care of the guests and the terrain with heart. This is the perfect place to relax!

Just for relaxation

The accommodation is very remote, but highly recommended for romantics and those seeking relaxation. Graham is a very pleasant host and always available for a nice conversation. Thanks to his valuable tips, you can also explore secret corners of southern Tuscany.

Relaxation and enjoyment

What a wonderful place to relax, listen to nature, take long walks, eat and drink well, gaze at the stars... and then sleep deeply:-)! Especially if you come from a big city - like us - this address seems almost like paradise. All around just nature and tranquility - except for the song of nightingales and an occasional "baa" from the sheep. We liked the location: you can start hiking right from the house or of course take many trips by car, in a wonderful environment (beautiful, old villages and towns, hot springs, fantastic art gardens, mountains, sea with beautiful beaches. . . ) We enjoyed everything very much, sometimes just the view from the terrace over the valley. . . especially at sunset. We also really liked the apartment. It is very tastefully and comfortably furnished, and the kitchen is really equipped with everything necessary for cooking and eating delicious meals. And whenever we had a question, the extremely friendly and discreet landlord was always available and had many good tips for us. Thank you so much, grazie tanto, dear Graham! We had a wonderful time and will come back!

Very nice accommodation in Tuscany

We spent a week in Podere Sant'Angelo in the Capitorio apartment. We felt very comfortable in the accommodation right away. Graham (the landlord) gave us wonderful and very helpful tips regarding restaurants and sights. The property is located away from major roads, which we liked very much. From the terrace, you have a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape of Maremma. All in all, we definitely recommend the accommodation and would love to come back ourselves.

Four Days in Paradise

I recently spent 4 days at the loving host Graham's Podere Sant'Angelo. I wanted to escape the chaos to enjoy a few days of peace, and the stay in Tuscany completely met all my expectations. The area is beautiful, green, and peaceful with charming little towns on the hills and a lovely coast where you can swim or sail. Graham was very helpful and provided lots of useful information to enhance my stay. If you are looking for a peaceful spot to enjoy a glass of good wine on a beautiful terrace with a wonderful view, I highly recommend Podere Sant'Angelo.

Recreation in a beautiful landscape

We had a very pleasant, peaceful stay at "Capitorio" and were well taken care of by Graham. The property is harmoniously designed, very well-kept, and invites you to feel comfortable. Particularly noteworthy is the view from the terrace overlooking the valley. The apartment is simply and tastefully furnished, the kitchen has everything we needed to prepare smaller meals. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, and thanks to the mosquito nets on the windows, the bedroom can be very well ventilated. The bathroom is clean and very functional. All appliances worked perfectly. Overall, a recommended address in a scenic and culturally appealing area. Many thanks to the friendly host, Graham!

highly recommended

The holiday house is secluded on a hill with a wonderful view from the terrace. It is functional, tastefully decorated, and very clean. The large property is a dream. The landlord Graham is very nice and accommodating and has many tips about the highlights of the region. For those who don't want to miss out: Despite the secluded location, the access to the internet via WLAN was fast and reliable. For those who want peace and lots of nature (only the animals can be heard), it is ideal. A car is necessary to get there, though.
We really enjoyed our stay.

Absoluter Geheimtipp!

Die Ferienwohnung liegt fernab jeder Hektik. Die Ausstattung ist perfekt. Das grosse Areal ist sehr liebevoll angelegt und man hat einen wunderbaren Blick auf die bergige toskanische Landschaft. Nach Roccalbegna braucht man mit dem Auto 15 Minuten. Wir sprechen zwar nicht italienisch, doch wir wurden in den kleinen, sehr sympatischen Laeden sehr freundlich bedient. Das gastronomische Angebot ist gar nicht auf Tourismus ausgelegt und trotzdem oder gerade deshalb sehr gut. Graham, der Vermieter, ist ein Englaender, der sehr gut deutsch spricht. Er ist sehr hilfsbereit und hat jede Menge Tipps, was man unternehmen kann. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefuehlt und kommen bestimmt wieder!

I grew up in the northwest of England. After studying in Scotland I left the UK and have lived and worked in many different countries. Now more than ten years I enjoy life here on Podere Sant'Angelo. It gefält my experience the Maremma, nice places to visit and where you can eat well, communicate with my clients. The great view from Podere Sant'Angelo make this a really special place. Since the look is down to the sea at Porto Santo Stefano, in the other direction there is the oddly shaped Monte Labbro, front of the house there are wonderful sunsets. The black night sky with the Milky Way, which extends over the house is still a wonder to behold. After the enjoyment of urban life in several of the largest cities in the world (including Hamburg) I guess now the close contact with nature, offering life on Podere Sant'Angelo.
