Description
Cosy cottage in wooded and watery surroundings. For up to 6 persons, many excursion possibilities in the surrounding area. Additional offer in approx. 40km distance (near Loftahammer) boat mooring for fishing and boat trips in the archipelago.
The house has an area of approx. 100m², ground floor + attic with alcove and terrace, two bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, living room with dining area, bathroom with shower and toilet as well as a separate room with washing machine and dryer and a clothes room. HiFi + TV Sat, DVD player are available.
Garden furniture and barbecue facilities belong to the house. Furthermore, boat and kayak rental are open.
The heating system of the house can be operated with wood as well as electrically. Wood for the heating system is included in the rental price.

The house is situated on a large nature plot in the beautiful nature of Östergötland by the forest and close to the lake Spillen. The lake with private bathing area, jetty and private boat mooring is approx. 400m from the property. From there you can go fishing, swimming and boating.
Shopping facilities are available in Horn, ~15km away, and in Gamleby (~22km). Further shopping trips can be made in Vimmerby or in the beautiful coastal town of Västervik (~45km).

For fishing, swimming or just exploring the archipelago, Loftahammer and Lake Spillen, you have 2 boats and a kayak at your disposal. Boat 1: Lake Spillen, 6 hp, 140 €/ week, 30 € per day, boat 2: coast, 8 hp, 200 €/ week, 36 € per day, 2-man kayak: 50 €/ week, 10 €/ per day. Boats can also be combined.

Relaxing nature holiday
We can only agree with the fabulous reviews.
Our first holiday in Sweden was simply fantastic and will remain in our fond memories thanks to Eddi, our great host and nature guide
The house was clean, lovingly and comfortably furnished and super equipped both in terms of kitchen utensils and bed linen, tea towels, washing machine, dryer, mattresses etc., just like home
We found the wood stove, which uses wood from our own forest for heating, particularly exciting. The antique kitchen stove and all sorts of things with historical added value also fulfilled our expectations of spending a holiday like in the old days
The heated winter garden invites you to linger with a book from the bookcase. Thanks to the stereo system and the German TV channels, entertainment is always provided. The beautiful garden with fruit trees and home-grown vegetables is something very special
Already on the first day, thanks to Eddi, we were able to get to know the Swedish idyll with the classic red Swedish house, self-gathered mushrooms in the enchanting forest, where moose, deer and wild boar greet each other
Every season invites you to discover and due to the central location all tourist destinations are easily accessible
In autumn, we enjoyed a beautiful boat trip on the lake, enjoyed the harvest and explored the region
We would appreciate it very much if future guests could maintain this careful treatment of people, house and nature and keep this place as an oasis of recreation
Highly recommended for those who want a relaxing and classic Swedish holiday and enjoy nature!

* Sweden pure *
In a beautiful location between the archipelago, the harbour town of Västervik, the many hidden bathing lakes, Vimmerby and the surrounding area with its filming locations of the Astrid Lindgren films, which transport us into the world of Michel from Lönneberga and Bullerbü, slow us down and let us dream, here nestled in the southern Swedish forest landscape is the red wooden house in which we will spend our holiday time. We are welcomed by the host and feel very welcome. The holiday home is well equipped, especially the kitchen, which is useful for self-catering. Everything is very clean. Beautiful pictures of nature adorn the walls, perhaps you will learn to read the tracks of the forest animals while looking at them. A bookcase invites you to browse for the nice quiet evenings. The host, who lives next door, is very pleasantly reserved but always helpful, with good tips and very interesting conversations
We enjoy the boat trips on the connected lake (many thanks to the host who steers us), the breakfast with a view into the forest on the terrace at the house. We have fun discovering bathing places and testing the unusually good facilities there by German standards (fire pit, diving tower, bathing jetty, changing house...). A beautiful walk to the viewpoint at Garpedansberget accompanied by troll figures to discover is a tip for families with children who like to climb over rocks. Pure nature. Thank you very much for this wonderful time. We will gladly come again.

We will be happy to come back!
We were at the farm in Vardslunda at Whitsun 2022. It was a very nice and relaxing holiday. The house is easy to reach, conveniently located and yet very quiet. Everything necessary is available and in good condition. When we arrived, the spacious accommodation was cleaned and very clean. We immediately felt at home. The lake is about 10 minutes away on foot. There is excellent fishing for pike and perch. Especially the evenings with the boat on the lake were wonderful.
If you have any problems or need information, the landlord is always happy to help with his cordial manner. He lives in the immediate vicinity. We also went to the archipelago together on his boat. Simply great!
We can recommend the accommodation without reservation and will definitely come again

Pure relaxation
I can only agree with the previous reviews. The vacation home is great, as is the landlord. He lives in the house next door, is very helpful, but in no way intrusive. We did several boat trips together, went fishing together, and our children annoyed him more than once, all without him losing his patience.
The lake is very close by. We went swimming there, cycling, and mushroom picking. The best thing for the children, of course, was the visit to the Astrid Lindgren World in Vimmerby. The Baltic Sea is also not far away. A visit to Hammarsbadet in Gamleby or a trip to Västervik are recommended.

One of our most beautiful family vacations
A vacation that brought a sense of well-being from the very first second.
The vacation house is very well equipped and lovingly decorated down to the smallest detail.
The surroundings with the typical landscape of Småland or Östergötland and the beautiful lake nearby invite you to go biking, hiking, boating, and exploring.
If the weather is not suitable for outdoor activities, the house offers games and books for the whole family to pass the time.
Swimming in the nearby lakes or the Baltic Sea, visiting Astrid Lindgren's World in Vimmerby, or simply taking a drive into the countryside with a picnic basket and blanket are always recommended.
The host, with his tips and good advice for exploring the area, has found a special place in not only our children's hearts.
The boat trip we were allowed to take with him remains one of our children's most beautiful experiences (besides learning how to fish! :) ).
He was patient and answered all of our children's questions, explaining what they wanted to know!
Thanks again for that and also for our relaxed conversations about everything under the sun in the beautiful nature!
We will definitely be back!

Hej!
Wir waren zu zweit für 10 Tage in Vårdslunda und wurden vom freundlichen Gastgeber herzlich empfangen. Das Ferienhaus ist sehr geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet was man für einen entspannten Urlaub benötigt. Bettwäsche und Handtücher sind im Preis inbegriffen. Für das warme Wasser muss man einen Ofen befeuern, für den das Holz vom Vermieter bereitgestellt wird. Die Lage des Hauses ist bestens geeignet für einen ruhigen und entspannten Urlaub. So gut haben wir selten geschlafen.
Der See ist zu Fuß gut erreichbar und bietet mit kleinem, privatem Steg gute Möglichkeiten zum Schwimmen und Baden. Trotz der ruhigen Lage ist man mit dem Auto schnell bei verschiedenen Ausflugszielen und kann viel unternehmen. Der Vermieter hat mit uns zwei Bootsausflüge unternommen und uns die wunderschöne Landschaft gezeigt.
Er war zu jeder Zeit ansprechbar, und hat uns bestens mit Informationen und Tipps für unseren Urlaub versorgt.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Haus sehr empfehlen.

Summer cottage!!!
We spent 3 weeks in the holiday house of E. Bärg. The house is very spacious and well-equipped. Many details have been taken into consideration here, which are often missed elsewhere. In the kitchen, you can work just like at home. Everything you need is there. Electric stove with oven, dishwasher, mixer, baking pans, sharp knives, etc. The interior is cozy, corresponding to Swedish Loppis style. Hot water is provided by a wood heater and its own firing (wood is provided). Despite its proximity to the road (about 200-300m), the house is very quiet. However, it is also the proximity to the road that gives this accommodation a certain central location. You don't have to drive through the countryside to get anywhere. Get on Route 135 and then head to Västervik, Gamleby, Kisa, Norra Kvill, Vimmerby... The host is very friendly, gave us a share of his rhubarb, and took us on two great boat trips. Overall: Highly recommended!

Super-Urlaub
Absolut empfehlenswertes Ferienhaus und ein netter Vermieter, der immer ansprechbar war.
Die Küche ist top ausgestattet und das Haus sehr gemütlich. Die Lage ist perfekt für Ausflüge.
Wir haben uns mit unseren 4 Kindern rundum wohl gefühlt.
