Description
An elegant ambience in antique country house style awaits you in the "Elfenhaus" where the old part of the house from 1697 is still preserved. As a result, there are rooms with different heights.
Generous and comfortable for 4 persons but also 6 persons find enough space.
The light-flooded living room, the "Rosenelfen-Stube" is equipped with a fireplace, HDTV and a large sofa bed for 2 people.
There is also a small fireplace in the cosy eat-in kitchen. All the necessary utensils to make your stay culinary enjoyable are available.
The daylight bathroom has a floor-level shower and a washing machine.
A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor. There you will find a large bedroom, the "Clematiselfen-Stube", with a double bed, cot and TV.
The bedroom opposite, the "Mohnelfen-Stube", is furnished with a double bed, a sofa bed and a TV set.
In the outbuildings you will find enough space to store your bicycles, motorbikes or canoes dry and safely.
To linger in the fresh air, a cosy seating area with parasol and barbecue is available for your sole use in front of the holiday home.
For excursions by bike, along a wonderful river landscape with cultural heritage along the way in the "Grimm Heimat Nordhessen", in-house bicycles can be used free of charge, one of which has a safety child seat.

Altenburschla, formerly the most beautiful village in the state and nation in the competition "Our village should become more beautiful", is one of the oldest settlements in the Werra valley.
Embedded in a densely wooded and mountainous landscape on the former border line of the GDR, today part of the "Green Belt" with rare animal and plant species, it lies directly on the Werra in the geo-nature park Frau-Holle-Land, which is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Germany.
Discover natural beauties such as the Elfengrund waterfall at P5 and relics from the time before the border was opened at P6 and P12 along 24 premium hiking trails.
On a canoe tour on the Werra you will also cross the former border area to the GDR on one of Germany's most beautiful waterways.

Enjoy your vacation with excursions to the Hoher Meißner (the realm of Frau Holle), with mountain wildlife park and skiing and tobogganing in winter, to the Hainich National Park with the treetop path and wildcat village, to the Werratalsee or to Eisenach with the Wartburg. In our large, natural garden with direct access to the Werra—the boat dock is only a few meters away—you will find cozy spots where you can observe the nesting activities of many songbirds, the dance of butterflies over the wild herb meadow, or in the evening, the swarming of bats as they leave their roosts.
You are welcome to try out your cooking skills in our "barn kitchen" on the wood stove, just like in the old days. Relax after an eventful day in the garden sauna or treat yourself to a break with yoga and meditation in our relaxation room.
Simply switch from stress and noise to relaxation and peace. Immerse yourself in a little piece of pleasure and satisfaction for your soul.

:A dream.
"That was our first vacation at the Eickhoff family's and it will not be the only one! The vacation home is decorated with so much love and passion that you immediately feel comfortable. Everything has been thought of in the furnishings so that we didn't miss anything. But the beautiful garden was our highlight. It is an oasis of peace. Even our children could relax and play wonderfully here. We already miss this idyllic gem today. Mrs. Eickhoff was also always concerned about our well-being, but you never noticed her and her helpers. We thank you wholeheartedly for the restful days. Family Schmidt."

Unrestricted recommendation - lovely and in the green!
We were guests at the Elfengarten once again and always enjoy coming back! If you are looking for tranquility, seclusion, and friendly hosts, then this is the right place for you. The house is clean, cozy, and furnished in a combination of modern and vintage styles. Everything is clean, most of it even new. The garden is fantastic and spacious, and this year a sauna has been added to the natural swimming pond. The surrounding area can be explored on foot or by bike, in summer and winter alike. A relaxing gem, my family loves it!

Vacation in nature
We went together with our grandparents to the cozy Elf House and can highly recommend it. The house is furnished with a lot of attention to detail, so that you immediately feel comfortable and welcome. The garden associated with the holiday home is fantastic, with many hidden seating areas and the beautiful pond. There you can enjoy nature to the fullest. We would like to thank the Eickhoff family for the relaxing week.

Family vacation
The house leaves nothing to be desired. Furnished with great attention to detail. We spent a wonderful Easter here. Whether big or small, everyone felt comfortable in the romantic elf house.
