The holiday home "Südstrand" (new building 2015/16) with its 75 sqm living space offers plenty of room for 2 guests (with a small surcharge up to max. 6 persons)
Fireplace, underfloor heating and sauna make the stay pleasant even on colder days. The furnishing of the house leaves nothing to be desired, whether dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, coffee maker, microwave or other electrical appliances, everything is available. A living room with smart TV invites you to linger. One bedroom with double bed and TV, insect screen, one bedroom with 2 single beds, insect screen, 1 alcove (2 sleeping places in a cosy corner in the living room); bathroom with shower and WC, a hairdryer is ready for you. A travel cot and high chair are available.
A rowing boat is ready for you at the jetty. Fishing, boat trips, swimming in the lake (sandy beach)!
In the large, fenced garden there is a charcoal grill and plenty of space for playing and relaxing.
Two bicycles are waiting for you in the shed
WLAN: Fast and free of charge (50 MBit/s)

The holiday home "Südstrand" is a non-smoking house. Towels and bed linen are available on request for a rental fee.

Location and surroundings of object

The holiday home "Südstrand" is located on Lake Dümmer in Mecklenburg in a holiday home complex with approx. 50 houses. The complex is fenced in and secured by an electrically operated gate. The path from the house to the lake (bathing area with small sandy beach) is only 80m. There are also the boat and fishing jetties
There is a shop a few minutes' walk away (bakery products, the most important groceries), and the nearest supermarket is about 10 minutes away by car
Lake Dümmer: Approx. 5 km long and 0.5 to 1.5 km wide, excellent water quality. Beautiful cycling and hiking paths, nature shows itself with various water birds and primeval forest.

Schwerin Lake District
Many other lakes as well as old castles, palaces and manor houses can be found in this area and invite you to visit them. First and foremost are Schwerin Castle and Ludwigslust Castle. Willigrad Castle is now an exhibition centre for contemporary art
Numerous windmills and water mills are located in Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The most famous is certainly the grinding mill in Schwerin, where marble was worked near the castle. Today the mill is a museum.

Schwerin Castle, situated on an island in Lake Schwerin, is one of the most important buildings in Europe. The older buildings on the lake side house the castle museum on three floors. The Beletage, the former living and social rooms of the Grand Duchess, now houses art from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The Festeage houses, among other things, the Throne Room, the most important banqueting hall in the palace, and the Ancestors' Gallery. An architectural gem within the castle grounds is the Renaissance chapel, built in the 16th century as the first Protestant church in Mecklenburg.
The castle garden was laid out in the style of an English landscape garden. With its rare trees and shrubs, terraced grounds, orangery, grotto and lawns on the shore, and a view of Schwerin Lake, the largest lake in Mecklenburg, it invites visitors to linger.

Ludwigslust Palace is the centre of a baroque town complex that is still completely preserved today. Outstanding collections from the 18th century, including paintings, furniture, miniatures and gilded decorations made of Ludwigslust cardboard, a special kind of papier-mâché, reflect the heyday of the residence.

Wiligrad Palace is located 15km from the state capital Schwerin, directly on Lake Schwerin. Embedded in a beautiful landscape, it was built between 1896 and 1898. It is one of the youngest castles. Since 1990, the castle has been a place of art and culture. Since 1996, the "Museum of Artists - Sculpture Park Wiligrad Castle" has been established in the castle park.

The Schwerin Grinding Mill is a showcase for the processing of large natural stones using historical technology. The water mill was built around 1705. 1755 Conversion of the mill into a stone-cutting workshop. from 1845 to 1857, the grinding mill did the work for the reconstruction of Schwerin Castle. in 1985, the building was converted into an 18th century showroom as a branch of the Schwerin History Museum

On the indoor slopes you will find first-class snow conditions all year round with an air temperature of a mild -1°C. There is an extra practice slope for beginners and children.

Cancellation terms:

Cancellation by the tenant a) The tenant can cancel the lease before the start of the rental period by submitting a written declaration to the landlord. The date the declaration is received by the landlord is definitive. b) If the tenant cancels the lease, he/she must pay a flat-rate compensation for the expenses already incurred by the landlord and for the lost profit as follows: Cancellation up to the 45th day before the start of the rental period: 20% (but at least 50 EURO), Cancellation up to the 35th day before the start of the rental period: 50%, Afterwards, and in case of no-show or early termination of the stay, the entire rental price is due. The tenant is advised to take out travel cancellation insurance.

Cozy, bright holiday home in a top location

We are at the holiday home at Dümmer Lake for the second time and have really enjoyed our break again. In spring, it is wonderfully quiet; you can walk for a long time without encountering other people. The holiday home also offers plenty of options for cold, wet days, including a sauna and fireplace, as well as a nook for reading. Anyone looking for peace and relaxation will definitely find it here!

Great house, comfortably furnished, with sauna and fireplace. Just a few steps to the lake with fishing opportunities. Our dog also felt at home. We will definitely come back.

Vacation with Dog

We were in September in the super cozy holiday cottage at the South Beach.
Right after arrival, the vacation could begin. Arrived and felt right at home. The house is just totally lovingly furnished and super clean. The amenities leave nothing to be desired. The fireplace and the sauna simply allow you to relax and complete the vacation. The kitchen was fully equipped and nothing was missing. The contact with the rental was very easy and totally uncomplicated. Dogs are warmly welcome. From the terrace, you could look directly at the lake and there were very nice paths for a long walk. vielen Dank für Ihre Bewertung unseres Ferienhauses. Wir sind etwas überrascht über Ihre Bemerkungen zum Thema Hundestrand und angebliche Gebühren am Badestrand.
Sie haben vor Ihrer Anreise ausführliche Informationen zum Haus und für Ihren Aufenthalt von uns bekommen, die ebenfalls noch einmal im Haus ausliegen. Hier ist genau beschrieben, wo Sie nach wenigen Gehminuten Badestellen für Hunde am See erreichen können und dass es zusätzlich noch im Nachbarort am See einen Hundestrand gibt.
Der Seezugang im Feriendorf ist für Hunde verboten, aber auch das steht explizit in den Reiseinformationen und auch hier im Portal. Wir können also nicht nachvollziehen, warum Sie diesen Punkt nun in Ihrer Bewertung negativ bewerten, da Sie bei Ihrer Buchung schon darüber informiert hätten sein müssen.
Ihre Aussage zur Gebühr von 2€ für die Nutzung des Badestrand ist schlichtweg FALSCH! Auf dem einzigen Schild, auf dem Sie dieses wahrscheinlich gelesen haben, steht, dass Besucher des Badesees 2€/Tag zahlen müssen, nicht aber Ferienhausgäste. Das soll gewährleisten, dass die Badestelle nicht überlaufen ist und vorrangig von den Gästen und Anwohnern des Feriendorfes genutzt wird. Unsere Gäste baden also NATÜRLICH kostenlos im See!
Wir hätten uns gefreut, wenn Sie uns zu diesen Punkten während Ihres Aufenthalts kontaktiert hätten. So hätten diese Missverständnisse schnell aus der Welt geschaffen werden können.

Peace and coziness

Very stylish holiday home in a quiet location in beautiful nature, near forests and lakes… nothing was missing. The house is very bright and cozy due to the many large windows; the alcove is wonderful for sleeping. The lake is just a few steps away, and you can relax there. Ideal for dogs, as it is really very quiet at this time of year. We will definitely come back…

Well furnished and clean

We found a well-furnished, clean house. We would book it again. The only thing missing was a small playground for children within walking distance at the holiday resort. However, there is a nicely arranged playground in the village, about 3 km away.

Ein kleiner Hinweis noch zum Spielplatz: dieser ist 1,4km vom Haus entfernt und kann problemlos zu Fuss erreicht werden oder einfach mit dem Bollerwagen vom Haus. Die Gemeinde gibt sich große Mühe, den Spielplatz immer auf dem neuesten und sichersten Stand zu halten und hat hier tolle Angebote für Kinder aller Altersstufen aufgebaut.

Peaceful, idyllic holiday home with great amenities

We spent very quiet and relaxing days in the holiday house. Since it was still a bit before the season started, it was wonderfully calm and empty around the lake, and many of the houses in the holiday village were vacant. The holiday house is tastefully furnished and laid out, the large windows are beautiful, and the terrace and garden are really relaxing for dog owners. The sauna and the fireplace are a great extra. There is a lot of nature around the lake, but really nothing else. The nearest shopping opportunity is a bit further away, reachable on foot or by bike. The only downside is that dogs are not allowed on the beach in the holiday village itself, and almost all other options are further away or also private and not publicly accessible. That's a pity, especially outside the season when there is hardly anything going on. Otherwise, we were very satisfied and can well imagine coming back again.

When we arrived, there was a treat ready for our furry friends and a bottle of sparkling wine for us.
What a lovely surprise.
We took many trips since our accommodation was very centrally located:
Schwerin including the Christmas market and castle,
Lübeck
Hamburg
But we also took many walks with the furry ones around the lake.
We were with 4 adults and 3 furry friends.

Wonderful and relaxing vacation

We had a wonderful break as a small family with a baby and dog at Lake Dümmer. The house is very well equipped. We were able to use a baby bed and high chair for free, our dog even received a welcome snack, and we as parents could relax in the sauna. We really lacked nothing. The beds were very comfortable, and the whole house was very clean, which was also very important to us. Our dog could run around well in the garden, and there were nice walking paths through the forests around the lake from the house. There was even a playground in the village for the little one. We will definitely come back and thank you for the nice handling with the manager. A really beautiful and, above all, relaxing place. Those seeking peace in nature are exactly right here.

Peace, sun, and lake

We felt very comfortable very quickly and were able to settle into our vacation well. Everyone, including the child and the dog, quickly appreciated the house and the surroundings and enjoyed it.
The tranquility is incredibly wonderful, and the people in the holiday village are very friendly and open. The lake is amazing!
When we had questions, we always received quick responses, and there was a lot of information in the house.

Recovery and relaxation guaranteed

If you're looking for a beautiful accommodation where you can find peace and relaxation, this is the right place. A very well-equipped apartment and kitchen(!), which is not always the case everywhere, could definitely score here. However, a vehicle is necessary as shopping is otherwise almost impossible. Otherwise, there is nothing to complain about here, as the communication beforehand was absolutely smooth. Many thanks for that.

Very cozy wooden house.

We were there for 1 week and we really liked it, the house is very clean and cozy, everything you need is there and our four-legged friend also had a lot of fun in the enclosed garden. A beautiful clean house, a fenced garden, quiet location and many opportunities for lovely long walks with the dogs.

The sauna was a little highlight.

And the service is excellent. Even when the heating failed, someone was reachable until late in the evening and took care of it.

Vacation with dog

A great week at Lake Dümmer is behind us. Great equipment in the house. The rowboat was a great pastime, also for the dogs. Tip: If necessary, book an electric motor - the lake is big ?. We didn't miss anything, great equipment. The dogs also felt "pudelwohl" (very well). Swimming areas were just around the corner. It was beautiful. We would love to come back.

Great quiet place with a modern holiday home

Great quiet place, surrounded only by meadows and forests. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The house is very well equipped and modern, with everything you would expect from a vacation. It is also great for pets, as the garden is fenced all around. For smaller dogs, it is very good, but for larger dogs, it could be a bit difficult, as they could jump over the fence. Supermarkets and gas stations are reachable in 15 km, the area is also very beautiful. I would come back again.

Beautiful house with luxury equipment.

A house that fulfills all wishes: very clean, well-equipped kitchen, small and fine sauna, super cozy corner and tasteful decor. A bakery can be reached on foot, so you have everything if supplies were brought beforehand. Cooking and grilling is fun here. You will experience heavenly peace when sitting or lying on the terrace.

Holiday with obstacles

We find it very surprising that at this price (1 week = 910,04 €) one has to bring their own bed linen unless they want to pay an extra 12.50 € per person. The pillows are a nuisance (clumps).
We had to clean the garden furniture from spiders first.
The sauna is suitable for a maximum of 2 people. The foot area does not get warm, giving the feeling that the door does not close properly. We found it really bad that the weather interfered with us, so we didn't get any TV channels. There was constantly no signal. The satellite dish is aligned so low that a shed and a row of trees interfere with the reception. In the age of technology, one could install an amplifier or go to the roof of the house. We asked neighbors if it was a general problem. No, everything was fine there. To say something positive, the house itself is very nice. We go on vacation very often, so we can form an opinion.

Es stehen verschiedene Versionen von Kopfkissen zur Verfügung, bitte ggf. nachfragen.
Die Saunatür wird sofort überprüft, bitte auch hier ggf. sofort Bescheid sagen.
Das TV-Signal von der SAT-Anlage hat uns kalt erwischt. Erstmals ist die Baumreihe so hoch, dass mit dem Erscheinen der Blätter das Signal weg war. Auch auf dem Haus ist es nun nicht hoch genug. Für den nächsten Gast werden wir wieder TV haben, sei es über Glasfaser oder DBV-T2.
